During these tough economic times and with people getting laid off everywhere, that tattoo industry has seen a bit of a slow down. Mainly, because people do not have that extra spending money that they once had. However, there are a few ways you can get around that high tattoo cost and still get a pretty descent tattoo. For starters, you should be aware that you get what you pay for when it comes to a tattoo. This can be said for plastic surgery also, so when considering to get a tattoo this isnâ€™t something where you want to find the cheapest deal, because cheaper doesnâ€™t necessarily mean better. The first step that you can take to get an affordable tattoo is, by simply getting an initial tattooed somewhere on your body in black ink. The second, suggestion for an affordable but good tattoo would to get a four leaf clover or shamrock somewhere, or a little star. Tattoos In The White House

Before you get all worried Iâ€™m not going to talk about politics or the up incoming election, this is not the blog for that. I ran across a quote from Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and thought it was relevant to this tattoo blog. I guess when Pete was a youngster he expressed some kind of interest in becoming the president or involved in politics like some many young children do. Well it seems that Peteâ€™s mother has squashed his dreams of every becoming the president simply because he has too many tattoos. But Pete isnâ€™t too worried about his tattoos he says, I could never pursue a career in politics. Iâ€™ve been involved in far too many scandals.â€ But Pete did make a really good point about tattoos being in the White House. Here is what he said. I canâ€™t believe that it is Wednesday already, man how this week is flying by. So since it is hump day it is time for another celebrity tattoo post. I decided to go with Pink this week, mainly because she has a ton of tattoos and I thought it would be great to cover her. Tattoo Placement

I have written about tattoo placement once before but I wanted to touch on the subject again. Like I said before there are endless places on your body where you can get a tattoo. But when you have made the decision to get a tattoo, deciding where it should go on your body is just as important. For instance, if you donâ€™t want to be preceived as trashy than getting a tattoo on your arm or some other highly visible place is probably not a good idea. If you are wanting a tattoo to express your sexiness than the lower back or somewhere more private would be a great place. And Iâ€™m not sure about everyone else out there but I think tattoos that are on the back of necks are sexy. So if you keep those sort of things in mind it could help you decided where to get inked. Or if the placement really doesnâ€™t matter to you than you have a whole heck of a lot other places to choose from on your body. Tattoos and Bug Bites

I know this might sound a little strange and weird. But I bring this up because I was outside playing with my dog last night and got a mostique bite on my tattoo that I have on my shoulder. Now Iâ€™m not too sure if Iâ€™m the only one this happens too, but I swear I am allergic to mostique. Every time one bites me I swell up where they bite me and it itches really bad. Well to the tattoo part. Since the bit was ironically right in the middle of my tattoo, my tattoo decided to get all raised and bumpy. So I was wondering if this has happened to someone else. I will admit that my tattoo will get raised and bumpy on itâ€™s own sometime without the bug bite. However, I have read that this is normal and there is nothing to be scared of. It has to do with something with the ink. Honestly I donâ€™t think people really know why this happens but it does and you shouldnâ€™t be alarmed by it. Celebrity Tattoos: Victoria PoshÃ¢â¬Â Beckham

Since today is Wednesday and it is time for another celebritytattoo post I thought I would go with former Spice Girl Victoria Poshâ€ Beckham. One of the reason I decided to do her today is because of the post I wrote yesterday about tattoos being trashy or sexy. Now it should be no surprise to people that Victoria has several tattoos and they are in noticeable places. But in my opinion the way she carries herself and they attitude she has her tattoos do not look trashy to me at all. Victoria has five tattoos as of now and living up to her Posh nickname she has kept them classy if that makes any sense. Her first tattoo is on her lower back and it is five stars. What do you say when you child approaches you and ask you if they can get a tattoo? First and foremost you canâ€™t really tell them no, because that you make you a hypocrite because you have one. First let me mention that I do not have children of my own, but when and if I do, I donâ€™t think tattoos would be a problem with me. Now my husband on the other hand he would be the onenot to approve. However, I do understand that some parents even if they are tattooed that they may not want their child to get a tattoo. Just hear me out ok? First of all when you child turns 18 they will probably want to do that same thing I did and run out and get a tattoo. But as a parent even if you are tattooed you may have mixed feelings about this one. Forget The Rings Get A Tattoo

I want to make it clear I am not endorsing you to get a tattoo on your ring finger instead of a wedding band. But a lot of people feel this is much more romantic blah blah blah. But Iâ€™m sure they wonâ€™t be feeling that way when they get divorced. For instance Pamela Anderson got Tommy tattooed on her ring finger when they got married because she doesnâ€™t believe in rings. Well after they got divorced she got Tommy turned into Mommy. Also there has been a big stink about Beyonce and Jay-Z not acknowledging that they were married and for the fact that we all know they got married and they still refuse to wear wedding bands. Well Beyonce opened up to Essence Magazine about this very matter. She said the reason why she doesnâ€™t wear an engagement ring. People put too much emphasis on that. Itâ€™s just material and itâ€™s just silly to me.â€ However, Essence claims that Beyonce wears a band over a tattooed number 4. Well you all know what today is. Itâ€™s Wednesday so that means itâ€™s time for another edition of celebrity tattoos. This week I decided to go with Johnny Depp. I have had a crush on his since the 21 Jump Street Days and the man seems to get better looking the older he gets. Tattoo Charity

When you think of charities you probably donâ€™t even think about tattoos in the same sentence. Well I was pleasantly surprised yesterday to find out that this one tattoo parlor in Phoenix was holding a A 15-hour long fundraiser for Phoenix Childrenâ€™s Hospital. A 30 minute session with one of the tattoo artists from Living Canvas Tattoos cost only $15! You honesty can not beat that price when an average 30 minute session would probably start at around $60 and up depending on the tattoo artist. This charity event was a birthday celebration for the tattoo studio. They were celebrating 15 years of services so they thought 15 years with $15 tattoos for 15 hours would be a great event. The owner of the tattoo studio said, There are so many charities, how do you go wrong with kids?â€. Which I think is fantastic. White Tattoos..What The Heck

I will admit I was scratching my head at this one and I still donâ€™t quit get it. But apparently there is a new tattoo fad among us that I didnâ€™t know about. It seems that white ink tattoos have become some sort overnight success and most have. Popular celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Kate Moss both have these interestingly new white tattoos. From what I have read, these white tattoos are applied with a regular tattoo gun but the ink that is used is thicker and of a higher quality than normal to stand out on the skin. Reality TV star Jasmine Lennard, is the newest person to get hooked in this latest tend. she said, Everyone in LA is having the tattoos so I just had to have one. I saw Lindsay Lohan had one and it looked so pretty I asked her where she got it. She told me to go to the Shamrock. If you are a regular here and have read most of my posts you will know that Iâ€™m not one that necessarily encourages people to get tattoos of loverâ€™s names or get the same tattoo as a lover. The reason behind this is you honestly do not know if you will be with that person forever. Yeah sure when we get married to someone we certainly hope we will spend the rest of or life with them, but unfortunately the divorce statistics prove to us that doesnâ€™t happen as often as we would like it to. So this leads me to Lindsay Lohan, if you love celebrity gossip and have been keeping up with this troubled child star you will know that she and DJ Samantha Ronson have something a little more serious than a friendship going on. Well Lindsay just recently got a new tattoo. Itâ€™s not big or anything. It is a small little red star on her hand. But the reason she got it is because girlfriend Samantha has several star tattoos on her right arm. Marine Coprs Make A Change In Their Tattoo Policy

You may think that is kind of odd that the Marine Coprs would be making a change in a tattoo policy. Mainly because way back in the day men who were in the service were one of the only people besides criminals and dirt bags that had tattoos. Well the Marine Corps are not making a positive change in their tattoo policy, unfortunately it is a bad one if you have tattoos. The policy that is being changed is in regards to tattoo sleeves. As of September 4, 2008, Marines who have tattoo sleeves are no longer authorized to serve as a recruiter or Marine Security Guard. The Marine Corp defines a tattoo sleeve as the following:a large tattoo or collection of smaller tattoos that covers or almost covers a personâ€™s arm or leg. This new policy also includes half and quarter sleeves if they are visible in green-on-green, physical training gear. The reason behind this new polciy change is that Marine recruiter or Marine Security Guard have a huge impact on public perception as they routinely interact with civilians, both at home and aboard, in the daily performance of their duties. How Tattoos Work

One might ask themselves how in the world does a tattoo stay on your skin forever? I mean, Iâ€™m pretty sure that most people are aware that we as human shed are skin all the time. So one might wonder how does the ink from our tattoos never fall off as well. Well in this post I will explain the whole process of how and why tattoos stay on our skin forever. First you should know that a tattoo needle punctures you skin up to 50 to 3,00 times a minute when getting a tattoo. The tattoo needle punctures the cells of the dermis which is the second layer of the skin. Our skin consists of three layers: the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissues. The epidermis, is the outer layer of skin that acts as a protective barrier and contains no blood vessels. Below the epidermis, is a thicker layer called dermis and that is where tattoos go. The beautiful Transformers star is a avid tattoo lover and has several of her own. A lot of people may not understand her tattoos and Iâ€™ve read a lot of people think they are tacky. What Influenced You To Get A Tattoo

I thought I would go in a different direction today, with my post. I think it is pretty safe to say that we all remember the instant that we decided we wanted to get a tattoo, of course some are a lot sooner than others. I for one had my mind made up when I was 8 years old, that when I turned 18, I was going to a tattoo no matter what. And you better believe I was at a tattoo parlor on my 18th birthday getting my first tattoo. There is one person that I credit for me wanting to get a tattoo so bad and that is my cousin. What Should Your Tattoo Be

I think it is pretty safe to say that the hardest decision that needs to made when one decides to get a tattoo is what to actually get a tattoo of. There is literally an endless amount of designs that you could choose from. The most important thing I feel is that you need to make sure whatever you decide will fit you the rest of your life. This is the time you sit down and rack your brain fors omething, which is literally easier said than done. So I thought I would give a little insight on a few ideas people can think about when racking their brain of what to get a tattoo of. First of all I think you should think of something that you are okay living with the rest of your life. Also if you have made a big accomplishment in your life get a tattoo of that milestone. For example, it has became a tradition with Olympic athletes to get the Olympic rings tattooed on them before the leave the games to remind them of their accomplishment. Think Before You Ink

I have mentioned this a few times before in my posting that you need to be 120% sure you want your tattoo and that you have given it a lot of consideration. To be frank you need to think before you ink. Remember this design is going to be on your body forever! There is no rubbing it off or washing it away. If you want to get it removed you will have to pay a good chunk of money and endure more than one painful session getting that tattoo removed by a laser. And also keep in mind that the image will still be able to be seen on your skin it wonâ€™t completely disappear. So thatâ€™s rule out a bunch of tattoo no noâ€™s. First and foremost do NOT get a tattoo of some loverâ€™s name on your body. This basically will jinx your whole relationship and you will end up breaking up and you will be stuck with this personâ€™s name on your body forever. The only names I recommend getting on your body is your own, a childâ€™s or a pets. Olympians Are Proud Of Their Tattoos

Since the summer Olympics are going on right now in Beijing I thought it would be appropriate to write about tattoos and the Olympics. Also Iâ€™ve just started getting into the Olympics and I have noticed a little pattern myself. You might be scratching your head at this point because you are not sure what tattooâ€™s and the Olympics have in common. Well the truth be told that a lot of Olympians actually have their tattoo location planned out a head of time, to ensure that their tattoo will be shown off to the world. For instance a lot of Olympians will get tattoos of the Olympic rings tattooed somewhere on their body that will be seen and noticed depending on the sport they are competing in. Take Wrestlers for instance, they have been known to put Olympic ring tattoos or some other tattoo on the inside of their arms. The reason behind this is so, when the arm is lifted following a victory, it can be seen. There are a few little things everyone should know before they walk into a tattoo parlor and get inked. First thing is first you need to be 110% sure of the tattoo design you have picked out. Tattoo Care Tips

Yesterday, I touch on how to properly take care of your tattoo and how to ensure that your tattooâ€™s color stays as vibrant as it did the day you got it for as long as you can. Well I thought I would go into a little more detail on how to take care of your tattoo right after you have gotten it. First things first your tattoo artist should have some sort of print out to give you describing in detail how you are suppose to take care of your new tattoo. In case they donâ€™t provide one Iâ€™ll inform you on what to do. First you need to leave the bandage on for at least a few hours and when those hours are up you need to gently wash off your tattoo with warm water using a gentle soup. Make sure you wash it with lukewarm water and be forewarned that your skin will be very sensitive and it may burn. Now that you have gotten your long awaited tattoo you need to know how to properly care for it to ensure that the tattoo will remain as good as it did the day you got it. The first and probably the most important thing you have got to remember and try your hardest from not doing is scratching it. Trust me your tattoo is going to itch like a mother and all you will want to do is scratch it. Well you canâ€™t, if you do it will make the scab came off. You need to let the scab fall off on its on, otherwise you will have little white dots all over you tattoo where the ink came off. Your tattoo usually starts to scab up within the first couple of days of getting your tat, this is normal and it means your tattoo has started the healing process. You need to make sure to put your neosprine on your tattoo at least twice a day until the scab has completely fallen off.
