         <title>What Happens When I Stop Seeing Results?</title>

         <description>Over and over again I get the same question. Why did I stop losing weight? I know you are dieting so hard that you almost don't eat, and you are spending at least 60 minutes a day on the treadmill. So, why hve you stopped getting results?

The answer is simple. You are working harder instead of working smarter. Let me explain. First we will start with the amount of cardio that you are doing. You are just spinning your wheels if you are doing cardio sessions for long periods of time. We have been told for decades that if you perform aerobic activity for 30-60 minutes in your target heart rate zone, then you will burn body fat. WRONG!

Look at Olympic athletes. The long distance runners stay in their target zone for hours a day, every day. But physically they look soft and frail. However the sprinters never perform long distance running and they look defined and well sculpted.          <description>Well, last year about this time you may have made a resolution to lose weight. You may have even started a pool at work to help keep you motivated like a biggest loser contest. However, something went wrong. For whatever reason you did not stick to the program. Then you said I want to be in shape for spring break and life just got too busy. Work was demanding, spring cleaning became too much and dealing with the kids activities and home work kept you down. When the kids are out for summer I will have more time turned into when the kids go back to school I will have more time. Then Halloween left candy all over the house, which you ate. Thanksgiving was the start of eating too much. The cold weather allowed you to hide in a sweater while you went to one Christmas party after another. And then finally here we are a year later and you are telling yourself that after New Year's I will get back in shape. Sound familiar?

         <title>Hamsters are Stupid</title>

         <description>The great thing about not being a hamster is that we humans are smart. Hamsters on the other hand are stupid. They spend their whole life running on a wheel and for what? Sure they are heart healthy, but what do they look like? They are fat little balls of fur. Okay, so they are cute too, but the key word is fat ball. Do you want to look like a hamster? I didn't think so.

If you don't want to look like a hamster then quit spinning your wheel on the darn treadmill! If you run on the treadmill for 60 minutes every day, then you will have a very strong heart and a very poor waistline. Not only that, but you will have wasted 7 hours of your week! If you could cut your cardio to a third and get 10 times the results wouldn't you do it? Of course you would. You are smart, unlike the hamster.

Cardio for fat loss is best when done in short bursts like sprints. Most fitness centers have plenty of good quality treadmills for cardiovascular training as well as free weights and machines to keep you in top shape. If you have never been a member of a gym before do your research. Remember that when you get there they will try to sell you.          <description>Wait a minute. If they are exercising, especially with a trainer, why are they not seeing the results?

I have never had a client come to me and say, "Jason, I really need help with my balance." No, that sounds silly. I do however hear, "Jason, I really need to lose this fat off of my belly, hips and thighs!" That is why it is so important that you investigate and research a trainer before you spend your hard earned money on one. Even if he/she starts to put you through real workouts, you still need to be careful. Let me explain.

What many trainers do is immediately put you on a three day split. For example, using Monday, Wednesday and Friday as our training days, the trainer will have you do workout "A" on Monday, "B" on Wednesday and "C" on Friday. Next week the same routine is performed, A, B & C. Performing this same old routine will offer some results, but you will eventually plateau or stay the same. The question is WHY?

Great question. Which wolf are you feeding? Are you feeding the good wolf, or the bad one?

Did you have a great workout today, or did you just go through the motions? Did you even work out today? How long has it been since your last training session? Do you always do the same things when you train? Have you hit a plateau? Do you remember the goals that you set? That is the true essence of achieving something greater.

When we make the goals to lose weight, tone up or get in shape then we are feeding the good wolf. A lot of time, people are put off by long bouts of exercise, or performing exercises that they do not feel comfortable doing.
