Heaven Without Religion

In my early childhood days, I spent some time going across the border to The Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children. In my young mind there were basically two countries; Canada and the United States. I couldn't fathom any other borders or countries; I didn't know how it worked. I asked my mom if there was an end to the world; she didn't understand my question and referred me to my grandmother as she was more religious than her. They got me all wrong; the question was a geographic one not a religious one. It would seem that from my early days forward I would ask questions which no one understood. I would also get answers that I would not understand. Because I am a Taurus and firmly connected to the earth, or maybe cemented to it; I never thought about any other possibilities other then were my feet were planted. My roots are deep and I can really feel my connection to the earth. During my early indoctrination into religion I became even more confused with the introduction of Heaven and Hell. Evolving Beyond Religion

Religion to the mature adult is as dinosaurs are to a three-year-old. Both are created by a maturing mind that lives in uncertainty times and fear. The one thing that parenting should have taught us is that kids go through stages of maturity or evolution that are predictable and understandable. Humanity is the same way. In the bigger picture evolution is not a reality in that all events are probabilities that already exist but not experienced. Intellectual minds do not choose religion intelligently but emotionally. The emotion is based on an intellectual evaluation of one's own circumstances on a subconscious level, and the ability to handle the power of creation that accompanies this awareness. Because we create our own reality, and what we believe is our truth, religion is a fact of life, and is real for those who believe. But it is only a footprint in the evolution of the individuals own awareness of who or what they are. A child embraces his fear of dinosaurs; in his mind they are real. He will begin to collect them and build his new world around them. Religion And Addiction

Is religion an addiction? What is the definition of addiction and if religion is an addiction; how does it work? What causes sane, intelligent people to succumb to the power of religion? What aspect of religion keeps people in the faith when their intellect is telling them to get out? Definition: Psychological and bodily dependence on a substance or practice which is beyond voluntary control. As I begin to write this I am forcing myself to type every letter. Something is compelling me to go one even in my reluctance; and I have never turned away from that inner voice. I still have the option of not publishing the article when it's finished. I am always curious about the journey some of these articles take me. My step son operates a successful addiction treatment program, so this will give me an opportunity to do some bonding. There is nothing that man does which is inherently right or wrong, these are religious concepts. However, given what man says he wants for himself and the world, there are some things that he does, which does not work for him. When Did You Stop Thinking For Yourself

If you take pride in being normal and thinking like everyone else; what do you have to be proud of? If you are thinking normal and are amongst the 90% of the world's population that does not share the wealth; what are you so proud of? Teach A Man To Fish

In the Christian Bible, Jesus taught that you should teach a man to fish so that he could feed himself. Giving a man a fish makes him dependent on you and he is vulnerable to exploitation and becomes disempowered through your generosity. This philosophy makes perfect sense in a world where men are few and the oceans are abundant with fish; where you are free to hunt and plant your crops. But times are changing and this philosophy of self dependence and freedom to fish and harvest may not work anymore. It has always been wise for men to exploit the land and seas and be independent, but something has happened to change all that. All living species have the capacity to outgrow their environment so that it will no longer sustain them. Humanity is the only species on this planet that is aware of this fact consciously, and in spite of the growing evidence that this is were he is moving; he chooses to ignore it. Humanity has the self governance to stop its expansion. Know Your Enemy

What is it that influences your enemy the most? Why do your enemies act the way they do and why are they shooting at you; trying to kill you? Your enemy was born innocent, but something happened and he has been turned against you. He is a person just like you; but he is now being motivated to kill you - why? For the moment lets look at the two sides in the holy war that is going on now between the Muslims and the Christians. For the purpose of this article the issues between them are of minor consequence. Disagreement between people will always be a part of life and it is a good thing. Differences bring up new possibilities for both sides and it's usually better than what the original differences were about. What makes a Muslim, Christian, Jew or anything else? When a person is born, they are innocent and neutral. Sometime between birth and thirty years of age, their religious and political views are indelibly burned into their character. A Model Society Will Not Work

Imagine waking up every day to a world of model citizens, where crime and poverty don't exist and everyone is devoted to a better lifestyle and to improving there experience of it. How great would that be? I don't think it would be desirable for anyone as a continuing experience, and it would go against basic human nature. I watched a TV show many years ago about such an imaginary society (I believe it was an episode from the original "Star Trek" series). It's been so long I don't remember the details. However, I remember enough that the image of this society paints a picture in my mind of something that would not work for humanity and points out the true nature of our physical experience. In the movie people walked around with broad smiles on there faces; greeting their neighbours with friendly comments. Nobody locked their doors and children played freely in the streets. Life was beautiful and everyone lived in abundance; peace and harmony were the order of the day. Choose Happiness First

Have you ever wished for or wanted something because it would make you happy? When you got it, were you happy and for how long? If what you did or received didn't bring you the happiness you anticipated - why? I first met him in grade school; Brian always talked about being married and having two children. Throughout the years it was what he most talked about; how happy he was going to be. When he finished school, got a job, married someone he loved and had children; he would be the happiest person in the world. School was not easy for Brian, he was small in stature and the bullies loved to pick on him. The more difficult school became for him, the more he would drift into his imagination and envision his new life after graduation. If it was going to happen it would have to be later as he was just not popular with the girls in school or anyone else. Spirituality Is A Lifestyle

We are all spirit by nature; therefore all that we do is spiritual. However, being spiritual is a lifestyle that we create while we experience the physical world. Getting back to nature and being one with all things is spiritual for some, while chanting mantras and meditating several hours a day and being spiritually connected to others is spirituality for others. But the truth is, spirituality is a choice of lifestyle as is being Christian, Buddhist, an atheist or anything else. It is a way of life that includes symbols and rituals that represent a way of life that we imagine as spirituality. When I first started channeling and writing about spirituality and trying to find my own spiritual awareness, I imagined I would be levitating a foot above the ground as I walked down the street. I imagined I would be seeing things others did not, and I would have great intuition and wisdom. People would be drawn to me for advice and clarification of their purpose. Well, some do that, but it is nothing more than that which happens everyday with anyone else. The Life And Death Of Corky Barrington

Thirty Five year old Corky Barrington is a presence in his community. He is known and loved by most people who come in contact with him. Easy going and full of energy, he fills the room when he walks in the door and strangely enough his energy remains when he leaves. Friends, Lovers, And Other Strangers

Who are those people that you associate yourself with every day? Why do you get involved with them and how do they fit into your life? It is the purpose of life to find itself and to experience itself in the physical world. Life does not need to learn anything but "is" simply to experience all aspects of its self. So who are these people that you have brought into your life or not? If you have your own circle of family, friends, and associates; why do you need strangers and what do they all have in common with you? What is the real value in a relationship with people, animals or objects; yes objects. Most of us spend more time with objects than we do with other living creatures. Why is that, and is it a good thing; does it work for us to spend our quality time with things? School Is Out On Spirituality

It has been a popular opinion for centuries that we are here to learn something – life’s lessons. I don’t believe that is what our purpose is, and in the time of mankind we really haven’t learned anything at all spiritually, so learning can’t be it. I believe that we are an embodiment of the creator. We are the creator experiencing physical life in organic bodies. The creator is all that there is as mind, spirit, and body. He/she is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent - he is everything and nothing at the same time. There is nothing that he does not know and therefore to say that he is in physical presence to learn something doesn't make sense to me. I just received another book to review and post on my website. When I walked into my office at home, I plunked the book on top of the other 11 books waiting for my reviews. Last night I grabbed the book and hoped into bed not thinking that I took it out of order. None Deserving People

In this world there are deserving people and there are less deserving people. Those who deserve have access to other people and places that you do not. And for the ones who deserve they will not accept you as an equal and will try and keep you out of their deserving club. So you can forget about an audience with the Pope, Queen or the head of your country. And as for God, it will never happen. I haven’t been in a Church since I was a young teenager. I rejected Christianity not too long after I began to think. I couldn’t hold onto the idea that I was a child of God and not deserving of his love and or to sit at his side. Although the comparison is metaphorical it was just plain crap to me. What child is not deserving of his father’s love unless it is he that thinks so. At the request of my new girlfriend, I agreed to attend a meeting at the church she was teaching Sunday school. She said the church was very progressive and upbeat. God Having A Human Experience

Years ago if someone had declared themselves God; I would have wanted proof. Now I know that it is a very enlightened declaration of spiritual reality. In fact I can now fully appreciate the fact that I am God having a human experience as is everyone else. It is a declaration of "I Am" which is the true nature or name of the creator a.k.a. God. As a paradox it cannot be proven or demonstrated. It would seem that you are more than the physical being yet you cannot demonstrate the power you claim to have as the creator. You are and you are not that which you claim to be. I watched a movie some time ago. It was about an American federal agent who was chosen to go underground in a national prison to investigate the warden who was suspected of being corrupt. The investigator was sent in as an inmate knowing that he could not declare himself an agent because he would be killed. Healing What Works And Doesn't Work

Illness exists in the conscious mind. In order for one to be ill they have to know that they are. One’s illness will also be present in the minds of those who know you as sick and if you know someone as being sick then you are unwittingly supporting their illness. Recently I was invited to my first group Deeksha (Oneness Blessing). I have been to several private sessions with my sisters and I have been waiting for months to get in on a group session. About 15 people attended the Deeksha including four teenagers, adults a cat and a dog. One of the practitioners announced that the session was dedicated to Mothers as it was Mother’s Day and to two women she introduced as having cancer and needing energy. The idea was that the energy of the group would somehow work towards the healing of the two women. Let me tell you why I know that this blessing would not give energy to the healing of the women’s cancer. In fact it would create a greater awareness of their illness and may even contribute to it. What is Spirituality

What is this illusive thing that people go looking for called Spirituality? Spirit is 1/3 of the individualized entity; the body or ego that we know ourselves as being alive. By our very nature we are already spiritual and everything that we do is spiritual; we do not have to go looking for it. Many people spend a lifetime looking for spirituality and they never find it; you cannot find what is not lost or already is. What they are really looking for is spiritual awareness, an awareness of that which gives us life and mobility; an awareness of self. Many people confuse religion for spirituality, but religion is man's attempt to explain spirituality and is a part of being spiritual as all things are. You will hear people say, "This or that person is very spiritual" but that is not really accurate. There are people who are more spiritually aware than others. But you are also spiritual, so there is no need to feel left out or less spiritual. Start Writing Your Book Now

I get it all the time when I tell people that I am a writer and published author. They tell me, "I wish I could write a book," or "I thought about writing a book," or "Some day I'm going to write a book" - so when are you going to start? Then I hear the excuses, "I don't know how to write," or "I don't know where to start," or "Nobody would be interested in what I have to say," etc, etc, etc. If I pressure them a bit, then they may try to change the subject. I think many people have a romantic idea of what writing is all about. The truth is, the writing itself is very easy and is completely natural for most; it is our negative thoughts about it that gives the greatest difficulty. There is a book in each and every one of use that needs to come out and there is one person waiting to read it. Writing is very much like going to the bathroom; it's in you and it needs to come out. The Next Step In Human Evolution - The Super Human

There is no way of knowing exactly how long man has been on this earth. Many hypothesize that he has existed for tens of thousands of years. And there is evidence to show that he may have been here for millions of years. There is also speculation that in this time he destroyed himself several times. In his time man he has depended on his five senses to guide him along his physical experience. But his fives senses are limited; they are just tools which keep him grounded in this world. A shovel is good for digging a hole, but not as effective for nailing boards together. A saw is effective for cutting boards but not for carrying cement to its forms. A frying pan is great for cooking eggs but will not for beating them. All tools have functions which are limited. Likewise, man is limited in what he can do with what he has. Along with his five senses, humanity was given psychic abilities as well. These abilities have been displayed throughout his existence, but never developed. Winning An Argument

When you enter into an argument with another, what is it that you hope to gain? If you enter into a heated debate with someone else, you must realize that there are more than the two entities involved. There are the two participating in the verbal exchange and there are the two silent observers; the spirits or souls of the bodies. For the egos, there are four possible outcomes of the engagement, win, lose, compromise or stalemate. For spirit there it is a win/win episode. The only purpose of the argument for the soul is to experience the physical manifestation of an argument and to elevate it to a higher level of understanding. Although the end result for either of the participants may be to win the argument by getting what they want, they are actually losing if they have not been true to themselves (spirit) by elevating the other to a higher level of understanding. Compromise is seen by many as losing. However, that is not the case. Chefology And The Spiritual Experience

Fine dining and the roll of a great chef are inspirational and accurately reflect the purpose of the spirit within. A valuable lesson can be learned by understanding the purpose of a chef and what he/she does. I have been spending far too much time on the food channel, and although I don't really cook very well and I can't afford to cook like them; I gain great inspiration from watching the Chefs struggle to become better than their food and it has inspired several articles. A great chef creates the opportunity to experience the best that food and dining has to offer. From what I have observed over the years, the Hippocratic Oath for the chef must be to not change the flavor and texture of a food product but to enhance the experience of both taste and the texture. His/her purpose is to experience food in all its possibilities and to bring this new awareness to the table. In my experience the Gourmet Chef exemplifies what the purpose of spirit is in the world of physical creation. Selling Christianity

Anxious to move on to my next step in my own evolution and an experience of the physical life that embraces it, I am sometimes brought back to the reality of my own existence by my emotions or what someone has written or said. All of us including myself express ourselves from our own truth and what we belief to be so. However, we can become arrogant and pretentious when we believe our truth is right. This is probably the greatest motivator for me wanting to rid our language of the most harmful four words of, "right" and "wrong" and "good" and "bad" and replace them with words like "what works" and what "does not work". It is not my intention to pick on any one belief system, however, Christianity is what I was raised with so it will be mentioned here. Christianity is one of between four and five thousand religions existing today. All of these religions and beliefs are simply footprints in the sand marking the evolutionary path of mankind in his search to find himself. What Is The Next Step In Evolution

It would seem preposterous to talk about the next step in evolution while 84% of the world's population is stuck in archaic religions and have been for thousands of years. In the course of its history humanity has not moved very far from worshipping trees, stones, animals statues and imagined Gods. As enlightened or sophisticated as we think we are in the western world, we are still down on our knees. It is observable that in the time of humanity on this world, we, as a whole, do not move very quickly when it comes to spirituality. We spend very little time out of the day contemplating our existence or developing it individually. Our awareness of our spiritual being is boxed and handed out to us on Sunday mornings. Out of the remaining 16% of the global population there are a few non-believers or skeptics and some forward thinking New Age devotees. Compared to religion, New Age is just in its infancy and is the medium ground between what is, and what is to come. New Age

New Age philosophy may be the vehicle to move people from the dark ages to the next step, but it to does not go far enough - it's just another stepping stone that is moving very slowly and is destined to box itself in. There were centuries of life on the planet before religion came along where man fought to get a foothold on dry land and survive the elements. As he became more comfortable with his life out of the ocean, he began to organize his random thoughts into cohesive sentences so that others may understand what he was thinking. Communication between tribe members brought about curiosity about whom he was and why he was here. Because he was getting no answers from the sky or from the ocean, he began to make things up and imagined all kinds of things. Some of the tribes more creative members found that they could get special treatment for telling their stories and so the seeds of organized religion were created. For centuries humanity's imagination has been locked inside religious boxes. Although the movie "The Secret" was a huge success, it was more or less just another money maker for those involved. For many viewers it is just too good to be true. It is full of hype and promises that are unrealistic for our current stage of human development. It is a loaded gun placed in the hands of infants. Most are not mentally ready for it. The movie represents a process that can and does work, but only when it has been fully understood, developed, and refined. It is millennia ahead of our current abilities as a species. The Law of Attraction is at work every day in our lives and as the movie points out, we create what we think and that can be dangerous on a conscious level. The reason it will not work for most people on a conscious level is because humanity has disempowered itself for centuries. Humanity was and is born with the knowledge of the "law" but from birth the power is systematically taken away from us. Our Priorities Are Reversed

It's not a big secret and most people already know that one of the biggest concerns we have in North America is how do we cure an ailment, disease or infection - it's not about prevention. I got up early this Saturday morning to a white background of winter's first snowfall. I still had four hours before I had to be at work, so I went into my article directory to check things out. My directory is committed to the human condition of mind, body, and spirit. I have over 6000 articles that cover these subjects from more than 1000 different authors. I decided this morning to have a look at my top articles and see what people were reading. The figures were not surprising and you may have already guessed what the subjects of the top articles were about. The first four top articles received over 22,000 hits and they were all about remedies or cures for some kind of ailment. That is a very poor commentary on the human condition in as all illnesses or accidents are preventable or curable.
