Generally many martial art and MMA aspirants wish to start a career as an instructor and dream of managing or even having their own school one day. So what is the truth behind becoming an instructor; how much one can actually expect to earn and what will be his actual role as an instructor? It is not just a fun or pastime teaching a few classes a day and making a fat salary, this is going to be a really serious check for you! Is it possible? Yes, but it's not going to be a smooth sailing unless you are already a UFC legend.

It is not a tough task to join a school as an instructor because most schools require pretty basic qualification for this post. Normally, you just have to be really good at your chosen style or styles. But that is not all which is required to become a successful instructor. Besides just being good at practicing your chosen form of martial arts or warfare, you are also expected to become good at teaching these skills to others. So what does an MMA or martial arts instructor really do all day? **End Summary** Topics: Martial Arts School Martial Arts Instructor Fitness Instructor Martial Arts Instructor Salaries
About the Author:
Tony is the Chief Editor of online Content for The MMA Zone and a leader in Martial Arts Supplies .

History of Throwing Star

Throwing stars have been made popular today because of the mystical legend of the Ninjas. The throwing stars also known as the Shuriken “shu”, “ri” and “ken”, which is literally translated as "hand hidden blade" and are commonly known in the West as (throwing stars) that were generally for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing. A shuriken weapon is thrown on the striking surfaces on all edges. Unlike the popular throwing knife the throwing stars can damage an opponent regardless of the surface it comes into contact with. Many ninja stars used by the ninja started out as a tool or piece of metal used on the farm or old coins. When the tool was sharpened on the edges it quickly became a weapon that was perfect for the ninja weapons. Ninjas were master of deception and concealment, and these hidden weapons with their quick release along with numerous uses became a favourite killing tool.

Ophidian Shuriken Star: Originated in China and mastered by the Japanese, the shuriken was mainly taught as a minor, or more correctly, a secret part of the martial arts. This is a great Shuriken! **End Summary** Topics: Throwing stars Throwing Knives Ninja Throwing stars Shurikens Ninja Stars
About the Author:
Throwing Stars or Shuriken has a lot of fun to practice with, It sharpens the skills in martial arts of perfect aiming and also build self-confidence within.

Origins of Ninja

Introducing Ninja:

The ninja, also known as shinobi, was a mercenary agent of Japan during the feudal ages. The ninjas specialized in unorthodox methods of warfare. The ninja had many functions dealing with, spying, infiltrating, sabotaging and assassinating. They were well-known for their precision, skill, and use of ninja weapons. The ninja with it’s under cover strategy was the opposite of the bold samurai who were very careful about their above board reputation.

Military historian Hanawa Hokioichi wrote that the ninjas disguised themselves while entering enemy territory to gauge opponent’s strength. They would blend in with the adversary to find the lapses and often sneak into castles to set them on fire. Arriving secretly they carried out assassinations.

It is guessed that the ninja group originated around 14th century. After many years of obscurity they came into prominence during 17th and 18th centuries. Ninjutsu came to be connected with many practices of the ninja – a mixture of philosophy and religion being applied to the art of war including spying.

The imagination of Japan has always romanticized on the mysterious character of the ninjas. Later this has spread to other parts of the world. **End Summary** Topics: Ninja Gear Ninja Supplies Ninja Weapons Hanawa Hokioichi Ninja
About the Author:
Tony is leading Entrepreneur in supplying Ninja Weapons in United States and strive to provide accurate information from traditional martial arts to cutting edge MMA.

Ninja stealth weapon as Nunchaku

Ninja were highly trained warriors of feudal Japan. Ninjas executed covert and dangerous missions, such as assassinations and espionage. They were well-known for their precision, skill, and use of weapons. Ninja weapons were typically weapons that would be easily carried and concealed, allowing the ninja to stealthily target and attack an opponent.

A popular weapon for participants of ninja training today is the nunchaku. Ninja nunchaku are two sticks connected by a rope or chain. It is possible that the first nunchaku were used in the rice and soybean fields of ancient Asia. Used as a thresher, the nunchaku could have been used to separate the grain and husk of rice and soybeans. The original nunchaku and those used in later years as weapons were made of wood, and the two sticks were connected by a horse hair rope. The wooden sticks were covered in mud for several years. This hardened the wood and prevented the wood from rotting.

Today, ninja nunchaku are made from a variety of materials, including wood, metal, fiberglass and plastic. The connecting cord is can be made of nylon, rope, or a metal chain. **End Summary** Topics: Ninja Weapons Ninja Warrior Ninja Clothing Ninja Swords Ninja Throwing Star Nunchaku
About the Author:
Ninja Weapons

Mixed Martial Arts rules and its gear

Mixed martial arts, or MMA, are a full contact combat sport that began in 1993 with the introduction of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. MMA incorporates fighting techniques of a variety of martial arts forms, including taekwondo, judo, and karate. The original Ultimate Fighting Championship was an “anything goes” type of competition, with few rules and little regard for the competitors’ safety. The beginning years of mixed martial arts competition was considered to be brutal by many, but rules and regulations for the sport have evolved over the years. Even with the additional rules for competition, MMA is still an intense sport that requires immense strength and fierce training.

MMA concentrates on strikes and grappling techniques. Martial arts strikes use either a weapon or body part to execute an attack on an opponent. Mixed martial arts competitors use fist punches, leg and foot kicks, and head butts. Grappling involves gripping and controlling the opponent without the use of strikes. A variety of holds and choke holds are used during MMA competitions.

Mixed martial arts training and competition requires the use of MMA gear and MMA supplies made specifically for this sport. **End Summary** Topics: Taekwondo Uniforms Karate Uniforms Ninja Weapons Martial Arts Shoes
About the Author:
The Mixed Martial Arts Zone

History of Judo in the Olympics

Judo is one of the many martial arts forms and is an offshoot of a much older martial art, jujitsu. Jujitsu began in the 1530’s, and by the mid-1800’s there were over seven hundred different jujitsu systems. In 1882, Dr. Jigoro Kano, then the President of University of Education in Tokyo, Japan, combined the best and most effective techniques from the numerous forms of jujitsu to form the marital art known as judo. Originally, judo was practiced in feudal Japan as a fighting method.

For years, judo students have enjoyed learning this martial art for reasons of fitness, conditioning, knowledge of self-defense, and increased self confidence. However, judo was not included in the Olympics as a competitive sport until the 1964 games in Tokyo, Japan. At this time, only twenty-seven countries participated in the judo events. Only men were allowed to compete in the judo competitions, and there were three weight categories. The popularity of judo as an Olympic event has grown considerably over the years. Women were first given the opportunity to compete in the judo events at the 1992 Barcelona, Spain Olympics. **End Summary** Topics: Judo Uniforms Judo Supplies Judo Equipment Judo gear
About the Author:
Judo Uniforms
