UK Mailing Addresses and Parcel Forwarding How They Work

Shopping on the internet allows consumers to find the best priced goods. These goods however may not be available in the country they live in. International shipping of internet purchased goods is on the rise and costs can mount up. Should goods be purchased from various online shopping retailers, international shipping will be charged by each retailer.
This is where a parcel forwarding service comes in. Used by businesses and international trades for a number of years, the rise in online shopping has created a need for individual consumers to make use of such a service.

Expat shipping finally answered
Until now UK expats and foreign nationals wanting to buy UK goods have either had to go without or pay exorbitant prices from niche companies who sell goods directly to expats.

Using forwarding service enables you shop in your favourite UK stores be they amazon.co.uk, ebay.co.uk or Joe's Fishing Tackle. You can now have UK prices and UK availability without the need to have friends and family organise package forwarding on your behalf. **End Summary** Topics: forwarding services business parcels shipping mailing a
About the Author:
Forward2me the UK's first dedicated international parcel and package forwarding service offering consumers and businesses a hassle free <a href="http://www.forward2me.com"target="_blank">UK postal address</a> .

With the fells to bursting point with seasoned walkers and newbie’s alike, the beauty of this region is truly being appreciated. The value to the tourism industry in Cumbria was thought to be somewhere in the region of £3 million to £4 million during the 3 day weekend and for many visitors, their first experience of this beautiful county.

It’s the little things that are contributing to the Lake District appeal. For food lovers then the local produce in Cumbria the Lake District is hard to beat. Cumberland sausage gaining its protected status has further cemented this region on the culinary map. With Cumbrian produce being popular in London such as at Borough Market to orders being placed by Japanese companies for the famous Grasmere Gingerbread and Hawkshead Relish. Chefs in many of the hotels in the Lake District have been resurrecting traditional Lakeland dishes and using as much local produce as possible on their menus. The for real ale fans, Cumbria and the Lake District has the highest concentration of micro breweries in the country. **End Summary** Topics: lake district hotels travel accommodation
About the Author:
<a href="http://www.lakedistricthotels.net"target="_blank">Lake District hotels</a> Ltd.
Residual Chlorine Analyzer Applications

A residual chlorine analyzer or meter has various applications including:

•	Continuous chlorine monitoring
•	Water treatment plant residual chlorine control
•	Secondary chlorination free chlorine control
•	Distribution monitoring for total residual chlorine
•	Cooling tower chlorine monitoring and control
•	Pasteuriser chlorine dosing control
•	Seawater chlorination control
•	Chlorine in seawater monitor

The membraned amperometric chlorine sensor is enhanced with a third, reference, electrode which eliminates zero drift. pH correction is often not required at all. (NB. These chlorine sensors are often known as polarographic chlorine sensors although this is a misuse of the word polarographic).

The chlorine sensor used by the Residual Total Chlorine Monitors and the Residual Free Chlorine Monitors are both largely pH independent meaning that both chlorine analyzers are bufferless and reagentless. They both utilize amperometric chlorine sensors and both show remarkable sensitivity and stability. For those making a chlorine measurement at high pH (>pH 8.5) on variable pH water it is possible to provide pH compensation from either a pH sensor connected to the chlorine analyser or from an external pH meter.

The chlorine sensors work by separating the electrodes that perform the chlorine measurement from the sample, by a membrane. **End Summary** Topics: residual chlorine chlorine analyzer meter monitor
About the Author:
Residual <a href="http://www.processinstruments.net/products/residual-chlorine-analyzer.php"target="_blank">chlorine analyzer</a> and Residual Chlorine Monitors for chlorine monitoring and chlorine dosing control.

Biofuels Put Rubber O Rings and Seals to the Test

These biomass sources are both renewable and progressively more cost competitive compared with fossil-based oil. However, bio-alternatives can pose processing and storage problems. Although bio sources are often blended with traditional oil-based products to make processing easier, recent research has shown that the increased acidity of the biofuels can have an adverse effect on elastomer seals used in process equipment and storage vessels.

Biofuels are commonly classified into two main categories: ethanol and biodiesel. Ethanol is derived mainly from sugar cane and corn or maize (Bioethanol). It is currently the most significant biofuel with production outstripping biodiesel by ten times. Biodiesel, on the other hand, is derived from a variety of sources. These include oils from rapeseed, sunflower, palm, and soya and animal fats mainly produced in Europe, which is also its major market.

Both these biofuels are used commercially as blends with conventional oil based gasoline and diesel, with ratios of 90% gasoline/10% bioethanol being most common. Diesel blends are conventionally 5% biodiesel blends with 95% conventional oil based diesel but ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) specifications are now in place for a range of blends up to 20% biodiesel. **End Summary** Topics: rubber seals o rings manufacture industrial
About the Author:
PPE are suppliers of rubber o rings and <a href="http://www.prepol.co"target="_blank">rubber seals</a> to the Biofuels industry.

Household attitudes to energy conservation and the environment vary considerably. Whether it’s due to people purely not caring, not having enough time, being miss informed or through laziness that they don’t recycle or do not do not conserve energy resources for example.

Saving energy and conserving water in the home are very easy practices but with plentiful water and electricity on demand, we often forget these are not sustainable resources and do cost money.

The economic downturn has hit just about everyone. Of course is varying amounts but what each and every one of us are noticing is the rise in fuel bills especially during the last two harsh Winters experienced in the United Kingdom. Monthly bills can be seen, the rising costs month on month felt.

Whatever way a household conserves and saves energy and water is good and for whatever reason. If the honest reason is not due to environmental reasons then that isn’t all bad, resources are still being saved at the end of the day. **End Summary** Topics: electricity meter water gas energy saving environment
About the Author:
SmartPowerShop supply energy metering equipment helping you to be more energy efficient including all types of <a href="http://www.smartpowershop.co.uk"target="_blank">electricity meter</a> , gas meter and water meter.

Dinosaurs, or to be more precise Dinosauria, may have been extinct for sixty-five million years but they seem to have found themselves very much at home in our society and culture. Many children go through a phase of being fascinated with these prehistoric animals, many retain this fascination as adults and with the plethora of television programmes, books, films and websites dedicated to dinosaurs their popularity shows no sign of waning. This article sets out to explore this phenomenon and suggests some reasons why these ancient reptiles still enthral us today.

The Birth of the Term - Dinosauria

The term Dinosaur, was first officially coined by the Lancashire born, English anatomist, Richard Owen in 1842. He was to be knighted later in his life for his work in developing the embryonic Earth sciences and for helping to found the British Museum, known today as the Natural History Museum of London. Owen had been given the task of classifying the strange fossil remains that had been discovered over the years in southern England. He had correctly deduced that these bones represented reptiles; **End Summary** Topics: dinosaurs kids children toys games education
About the Author:
Run by teachers, parents and knowledgeable dinosaur enthusiasts, Everything Dinosaur help to promote education and an appreciation of Earth sciences through <a href="http://www.everythingdinosaur.com"target="_blank">dinosaurs for kids</a> .

The systems, people, their training, and technical capabilities of a UKAS accredited laboratory are regularly and thoroughly examined and tested by UKAS auditors, each of them specialists in their field. It is an expensive and time consuming process, but our ongoing accreditation and fulfilment of the requirements of ISO17025 means you can rest assured that we have the competence, impartiality and performance capability necessary to consistently deliver technically valid calibration results each and every time.

A UKAS pressure calibration laboratory is well equipped with a wide range of standards from precision digital barometers to primary sources such as pressure balances. We can generate and accurately measure pressures from about 0.001mbar right up to 4,000bar with low uncertainties.

This puts the calibration of most types of pressure instrument within our scope, including instruments with an electrical, frequency or charge output. **End Summary** Topics: pressure calibration pressure gauge calibration instrument
About the Author:
UKAS <a href="http://www.lambda-cal.co.uk/pressure_calibration.php"target="_blank">pressure calibration</a> - Accredited pressure gauge calibration and laboratory instrument calibration services.

IIR

Resistant to the same fluid types as EPDM, the distinctive properties of IIR rubber materials are very low gas and moisture permeability, excellent insulating properties, good ozone and weathering resistance, and resistance to a great many organic and inorganic media. IIR elastomer materials can be polymerised with various halogens (e.g. Chlorine / Bromine) to improve resistance to certain chemical media, but at the expense of electrical insulation and moisture resistance. They can be used from –40 to +120°C typically, and are mostly used in the production of tyre inner tubes, seals and gaskets, vacuum seals and membranes, and pharmaceutical goods.

CR

CR seal materials typically display good resistance to ozone, heat aging and chemicals. Good resistance to refrigerants, aliphatic hydrocarbons, mineral oils and greases. Typical trade name: Neoprene® (Dupont Dow Elastomers)

Chlorobutadiene rubbers contain chlorine in the polymer to reduce the reactivity to many oxidising agents, as well as to oil and flame. CR elastomers also have good resistance to ozone cracking, heat ageing and chemical attack. Some of the important applications of CR elastomers include Vee-belts, coated fabrics, cable jackets, tyre-sidewalls, seals and gaskets in contact with refrigerants, mild chemicals and atmospheric ozone. **End Summary** Topics: rubber seals o rings manufacture industrial
About the Author:
O Ring Seals: PPE manufactures and supplies molded rubber <a href="http://www.prepol.com/O-Rings.html"target="_blank">o rings</a> .

Ambleside hotels in the Rydal Valley are ideally placed for walking or sightseeing with almost all areas of the Lake District being reachable within an hour’s drive. There are many walks in the immediate area, from the Fairfield Horseshoe at over 2600 ft to low level walks alongside lakes and tarns in the valley. Several detailed walks in the area can be found our bedroom folders, from books in our two lounges and in local booksellers.

Ambleside has grown over the years to a thriving village that has many wonderful shops, restaurants and cafes. One of the largest garden centres in the UK is 20 minutes walk away, with the Cinema and Park less that 15 minutes. Ambleside hotel and bed and breakfast owners will happily recommend places to eat. Waterhead, which is 30 minutes walk or a 5 minute drive away, is the jumping off place for catching the ferries that will take you to Bowness and Lakeside on Windermere Lake.

Beyond Grasmere lies Keswick, the gateway to the Borrowdale Valley. A more rougher scene is set out before you as this is the setting for many of the highest mountains in the Lakes. **End Summary** Topics: Hotels bed and breakfast ambleside united kingdom
About the Author:
Crow How Country House is a beautiful <a href="http://www.crowhow.co.uk"target="_blank">Ambleside bed and breakfast</a> , sat in 2 acres of private grounds within 2000 acres of traditional Lakeland farmland.

Peter Rabbit and the other Beatrix Potter characters have been firm favourites with children right from 1902 when the first story was published and even now in the present day. Beatrix Potter books are known throughout the whole world and none more so than in Japan. From a very early age, Japanese children are given Beatrix Potter books to help them learn English. Their love for Peter Rabbit and the other Beatrix Potter characters is enormous and thousands of Japanese tourists flock to the Lake District to the home of Beatrix Potter and to visit the many buildings and attractions associated with her. It is really quite special that a story book has united nation’s right across the globe.

Bowness On Windermere is home to The World of Beatrix Potter attraction which is an extremely comprehensive guide to Beatrix Potter, her life and all 23 of her stories. Both indoor and outdoor activities can be experienced along with a tea room. Nearby is an official Peter Rabbit Shop selling Peter Rabbit gifts, collectables and other merchandise.

Hill Top is the most popular destination on the tour being the home of Beatrix Potter when she frequented the Lake District. **End Summary** Topics: Peter rabbit soft toys gifts collectables clothing chil
About the Author:
The Peter Rabbit Shop for the complete range of The World of Peter Rabbit including <a href="http://www.peterrabbitshop.co.uk"target="_blank">Peter Rabbit clothing</a> .

There may still be a chill in the air and it’s not quite shorts and t-shirt weather yet but the daffodils are almost out, the days are getting longer and the smell of spring is well and truly here.

It’s about now that any fashion savvy fashionista has one thing and one thing only on their minds......their summer wardrobe. London Fashion Week has been prompting people to think about fashion and clothing after the long, dark winter and all the fashion magazines are beginning to feature summer fashion tips and advice.

As much as any fashionista loves wearing boots and let’s face it, there were stunning ones around this winter, it has been long since many have seen their toes! It’s been too cold to have toes uncovered for any longer than it takes to have a shower and thick socks have ruled.

Footwear is an excellent place to start when first thinking of a summer wardrobe. The summer styles are in all the shops both on the high street and online, the styles are fresh and the full range of sizes are available so no disappointment. **End Summary** Topics: fashion footwear crocs birkenstock sandals mens womens
About the Author:
Step into summer with mens and womens sandals from <a href="http://www.cloggs.co.uk/page/crocs"target="_blank">Crocs</a> and Birkenstock.

Industrial Wire and Mobile Shelving Systems

Mesh Decks - Heavy Duty Industrial Wire Shelves
Metal wire shelving (also known as wire decks) is a cost effective and strong alternative to timber and solid industrial steel shelving to store pallets and unusual shaped products. Industrial wire shelves are commonly used as a safety feature to stop pallets and products stored on them from falling through the rack structure and come in various weight duties and dimensions.

Even heavy duty wire mesh shelving allows for easy installation due to light weight and durable materials used in construction. They come supplied in several sections across one pallet racking bay. Metal wire shelving is dropped over the pallet racking beams and held in place by either waterfall decking, which extends over the top and down the side of the beam, or lay-in decking, which rests in the step of the beam. No fixings are required.

Metal wire shelving is specifically designed to handle unusual sized loads or uncommon pallets without being unsafe. For example, when the racking system is designed for chep pallets, with metal wire shelving, it is now safe to store the smaller europallet. **End Summary** Topics: mobile shelving shelves industrial office Greater Manch
About the Author:
High efficiency <a href="http://www.nsiprojects.co.uk/products/mobile-shelving.php"target="_blank">mobile shelving Manchester</a> .
Native Hedging Plants

Garden plants, trees and shrubs are as important as those in the wider landscape and we can all do our bit to support native plants. Hedgerows are synonymous with the UK’s landscape but they are as important for their use as barriers and for privacy as they are for the many species of wildlife that inhabit them.

The last few decades have seen the demise of many thousands of miles of established hedgerows and their associated wildlife. To help redress this balance, hedging nurseries can now be seen offering carefully selected mixtures of native species, which will grow together to form a dense rustic hedge that will be stock proof and encourage a wide variety of wildlife. These mixes can be trimmed at any time from August onwards but ideally in winter. These well balanced mixes are a more economical and convenient way of planting native species which enable gardeners and homeowners with a limited budget to have native hedging.

Native hedging mixes are now available which are both economical and easy to look after. **End Summary** Topics: Hedging hedges gardens gardening
About the Author:
Hopes Grove are very pleased to have been awarded the Gardening Which best buy for both native and garden <a href="http://www.hopesgrovenurseries.co.uk"target="_blank">hedges</a> and hedging plants.

The New Fitness Boots – Keeping you Fit and Warm

The winter we have come to expect for many years in the United Kingdom, proves problematic for those who run, cycle or do any form of outdoor kit fit activity. The severe weather the UK experienced last winter was thought to be an exception with flooding and snow experienced but it seems a very similar picture this year. In November 2010 alone, many parts of the country were flooded and now one of the coldest spells with more snow for decades has descended upon us.

There are many ways in which bad weather inconveniences us and of course, some more important than others but should this bad weather last weeks as last year, the ability to keep active and fit is also hindered. So too is keeping warm. Keeping warm is something each of us can do and none more so than keeping our feet warm. For the fashionista, looking good should not suffer either.

FitFlop have designed a boot that not only keeps feet warm but gives a work out at the same time. Perfect at this time of year when people can’t get out running or cycling. **End Summary** Topics: Footwear fashion shoes fitflop boots
About the Author:
<a href="http://www.cloggs.co.uk/icat/fitflop_boots"target="_blank">FitFlop boots</a> including the new FitFlop Mukluk available online and instore at Cloggs.

O Ring and Rubber Seals Design Engineering

O-rings are acceptable for static sealing but inappropriate for dynamic sealing applications such as pumps and compressors, and high and low pressure applications. In these cases a single elastomer may be used with an X-ring profile to prevent twisting in rotary applications. However a composite seal design is often preferred.

A composite seal is a combination of two or more materials to produce a seal that offers the best attributes of both materials. For example, a T-shaped seal comprises an elastomer T-shaped component and two plastic back up rings. The seals are used in reciprocating piston, rod and rotary applications. The T-shaped design prevents the elastomer rolling and the plastic back-up rings, energised by the rubber elastomer, provide improved high pressure performance. Importantly the T-seals can be installed into standard O ring grooves. Other standard composite seal designs include spring reinforced seals, encapsulated seals, lip seals, energised lip seals and cap seals.

Where greater customisation is needed seal design engineering techniques based on popular CAD packages such as Solidworks, Catia, Pro Engineer and AutoCAD are employed. **End Summary** Topics: rubber seals o rings industry manufacturing
About the Author:
<a href="http://www.prepol.com/O-Rings.html"target="_blank">O ring seals</a> .
4 Star Hotels

The AA first began by recommending hotels and eating establishments to its members in 1908 buyt it wasn’t until 1912 that they decided to give classifications or stars.

As taken from The AA accommodation star ratings guide, 4 star hotels must have the following:

“Professional, uniformed staff respond to your needs or requests, and there usually are well-appointed public areas. The restaurant or dining room is open to residents and non-residents, and lunch is available in a designated eating area.”

There are many other criteria The AA look for including cleanliness, decor and services such as room service, room size and laundry/dry cleaning for example.
Many consumers know a minimum standard of accommodation they wish to stay in so the star classification for hotels is a good starting point when searching. It may also give added confidence should a hotel be selected if the consumer then finds out the hotel has a high star rating.

Take the Lake District for example. Until recently there were very few 4 start hotels which was extremely hard to believe as anyone that has visited the Lake District knows there are some fantastic hotels. **End Summary** Topics: 4 star hotels lake district spa
About the Author:
The Langdale Hotel & Spa - Luxurious <a href="http://www.langdale.co.uk"target="_blank">4 star hotels</a> accommodation in the heart of the Lake District with extensive Spa facilities.

Cable Assemblies Simplifying The Wiring Process

Cable assemblies have made our life easier by organizing the structure of cabling used in modern machines. Nowadays, when the use of different types of complex machines and automated devices is common, the importance of cable assemblies is evident.

People use different types of cable assemblies in everyday life. Take a simple example; our personal computer uses several cable assemblies from the simple organization in electrical wires of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) to more complex hard disk IDE cables. People who have assembled their personal computer themselves must be aware with the importance of cable assemblies. How simple it becomes for even a beginner (with not much knowledge) to use different hardware with help of custom cable assemblies.

Although the mode of working and their transmission modes are different, both of them represent the same category of cable assemblies which are simplifying the internal wiring process of a personal computer.

In more complex forms cable assemblies are used in various industries. From every heavy machine like aircrafts, spaceships, railways, to simple automobiles, cable assemblies are essential to make it easy to install and use them in their intended purpose. **End Summary** Topics: cable assemblies electrical electronics manufacture
About the Author:
ASL can manufacture any style of <a href="http://www.assembly-solutions.com/cable-assembly.html"target="_blank">cable assemblies</a> you may require from our production factories in UK and China.

The nights are drawing in and the clocks will be going back on October 31st before we know it. This all adds up to possibly one of the most exciting times in footwear purchasing, buying winter boots.

Now, this has not always been the case. Even 10 years ago the choice of womens boots was far from exciting. Black and brown being the colours available and if you wanted a flat boot, you’d almost certainly know which style you’d have to go for.

Women are now as blessed with the ranges of womens boots on offer on our high streets as the fantastic shoes were get to choose from. In fact, boots are being worn all year round now which further confirms their popularity.

One of the biggest effects on the womens boots market has been the introduction the phenomimom that is the Ugg boot to the UK. Most of the shoe manufacturers are making boots in the Ugg boot style but the original and authentic Ugg is made by UGG® Australia. There are lots of Ugg Boot brands, so why wear UGG® Australia? **End Summary** Topics: Womens boots fashion shoes
About the Author:
Whether it’s <a href="http://www.cloggs.co.uk/page/uggboots"target="_blank">Ugg boots</a> or <a href="http://www.cloggs.co.uk/icat/brdftwrhunter"target="_blank">Hunter Wellies</a> , Cloggs.co.uk are leading stockists.

Otterburn is a small, idyllic village around 30 miles north of Newcastle in the Northumberland National Park and within the Cheviot Hills. In fact, it is located just 16 miles from the Scottish borders which makes it a fantastic place to stop off when visiting Scotland with Edinburgh only 75 miles away. For walkers staying in Otterburn, the Cheviots are a must to visit with nearly 40 peaks over 500 metres in height.

The major sites to see around the area are Hadrian’s Wall and Alnwick Castle of recent ‘Harry Potter’ fame, although there are a host of other attractions like Beamish, Bamburgh Castle, Cragside House, Wallington House, St Aidan’s Winery, Barter Books, Northumbria Craft Centre, Otterburn Mill, Kielder Forest and the Northumberland National Park to name just a few in the area. If you fancy a day in the city Newcastle is under an hour’s drive away with its famous Metro Centre and its many, many, many shops providing excellent retail therapy!

The charm of Northumberland is its rolling countryside, diverse wildlife and heritage which come in abundance. Driving on roads such as the A696 is a pleasure running from Otterburn right down to Newcastle through some lovely villages. **End Summary** Topics: northumberland hotels north east northumbria travel
About the Author:
Otterburn Hall hotel is one of the finest luxury <a href="http://www.otterburnhall.com"target="_blank">Northumberland hotels</a> , magnificently set in the secluded splendour of 500 acres of deer park and woodland.

What is an appraisal?
An appraisal is simply an assessment of an employee's performance, potential and development needs. It provides an opportunity to take an overall view of their work, to look back on what has been achieved during the reporting period and to agree objectives for the next.

What are the benefits of appraisal?
Appraisals help to improve employees’ job performance by identifying strengths and weaknesses, determining how their strengths can be best used and any weaknesses overcome. Appraisals also help to reveal problems and inefficient work practices which may be restricting progress.

Am I required to carry out appraisals?
There is no legal requirement to operate an appraisal scheme. **End Summary** Topics: employment law
About the Author:
Low cost <a href="http://www.mhlsupport.com"target="_blank">employment law specialists</a> and HR advisors.

Folding machines, inserting machines, letter openers

Mail and post room solutions for offices and businesses aid in the streamlining of mailing tasks. Even though billions of emails are sent each day in the world, conventional post has actually increased. The process of mailings letters is a time consuming job even once printed out, the letter must be folded, inserted into the envelope, weighed, franked or stamped and then posted.

Luckily there are mailing solutions available to help save time which in turn, equates to saving money. The mailing solutions below offer a cost effective way of gaining efficiency in the post room. Another important factor is size. Most businesses unfortunately do not have endless space for machinery but these modern machines are compact. There are also different models available for the different levels of usage. For example, the usage of a home based business would be far less than a solicitor’s office of 30 people.

And time saving isn’t just the only gain when using specialized mailing equipment. Folding machines give a perfect fold every time making the letter look professional. A franking machine’s imprint also adds to the professional look of a letter and enables the company logo to be included. **End Summary** Topics: franking machines folding inserting mailing office
About the Author:
The Mailing Room for franking machines, postal scales, folding and inserting machines, <a href="http://www.themailingroom.com/letter-openers.php"target="_blank">letter openers</a> and much more.
