New MD for Rhodar as Davy Moves to a more Strategic Role

The other day, whilst doing a spot of random searching in Google for various keyword phrases related to our business (it was a light day in the office) I came across an interesting blog based web site from a fellow called Peer Lawther who markets himself under the guise of âRubber Geniusâ. The Fading Attractions of Office Life O2 (the mobile telecoms company) have recently surveyed small businesses about their working arrangements so I read in one of the nationals earlier this week. The article made interesting reading and reported that O2âs survey, conducted amongst 530 small businesses, found that 50 per cent of the companies contacted; do not work in a formal office environment. Of this 50 per cent, 24 per cent did have an office but spent most of their time working remotely or from home. A further 18 per cent had made the transition to this style of working within the last few months. The survey also found that almost two thirds of companies that are still working from fixed offices, plan to give them up and move back home within the year. The main reason apparently is the credit crunch, spiraling fuel and therefore commuting costs and the rising cost of office space. Who can blame them? The email then encourages you to click through to what looks like a genuine log-in web page for a Google Ad words account and then âreactivate your accountâ or âchange your credit card detailsâ by first logining in with your Ad words User name and Password. Today I spent some time trawling the web with my âbuyerâs hatâ on looking for a company that provides the music/marketing message-on-hold type of products for our telephone system. Usually we source suppliers for our business either based upon recommendation or from a client/existing supplier or networking associate; however this time no suitable recommendations were forthcoming. So like many companies looking for huddersfield web designers, new suppliers, in my quest I turned to the web. A quick google search brought up loads of companies on page one that looked like they may be able to help us and like most people, I immediately went to the top 5 or so websites that were listed in the results.
