Solace on the Mac

In this article I am revisiting the game Solace that was released in 2003 for the Mac by Freeverse. This article is part of a series checking back in on some of the classic games for the Mac and how they play on modern computers. The game follows rules along he line of the classic board game Axis and Allies. The games allows you to play a range of combinations of teams or all one on one games. It has the ability to play by email and over a local network. The game play is still solid and there are ay number of reviews out there for you to get details on the

Technically the game still plays well on most mac hardware but does not follow some of the conventions that I like. It does not support anything other than full screen mode, which is real disadvantage and enough to turn some people off the game. Especially those who want to sneak in a few turn but might need to jump back to their other applications at an time.

Sound and video are good but the game could stand to support higher video resolutions.** End Summary**<p>About the Author:<br>Scott Hall is a Small Business owner and Mac user.
Use your budget of the shower to get most of your schedule. Consider the number of the people who will come to the bridal shower, because the cost will bigger for the more people. Also consider to number of people who will help host the bridal to shower because the COST will be divided among them. To try and to raise with a figure that is affordable for everything needed.

Trying to pick the solution that is affordable for all involved. To have a list of what you need to make the budget for the shower will be very beneficial.

Make a list of all the categories of your party, from beginning to end, that will have a cost. Be sure to list to list of all categories of your party:
- Drinks
- Cake
- Decorations
- Photography
- Favors
- Food
- Games
- Invitations
- Music-
- Paper goods, plates, cups, napkins, utensils, etc
- Prizes

Double check your checklist to determines to number of guests. Your food and drink for the shower, will be two of your biggest costs. Think of what is within reason to number of guests invited.** End Summary**<p>About the Author:<br>John Bottash is a freelance editor and graphic designer.
Wedding quotes

There are many ways to look at weddings and marriage, but some of the most unique views come from history. Here are some of the great quotes:

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies. -- Aristotle

Two such as you with such a master speed cannot be parted nor be swept away from one another once you are agreed that life is only life forevermore together wing to wing and oar to oar. -- Robert Frost

To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage. -- Lao Tzu

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. -- Helen Keller

Love is a game that two can play and both win by loosing their heart. -- Eva Gabor

Where love reigns the impossible may be attained. -- Indian Proverb

Marriage is like a cage; one sees the birds outside desperate to get in, and those inside desperate to get out. -- Montaigne

A great marriage is not when the 'perfect couple' comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.** End Summary**<p>About the Author:<br>John Bottash is a freelance editor and graphic designer.
Running a mac based small business

In choosing what computer platform to run your company on you should look at several factors to help you decide. Important decision are what is your comfort level with computers and are there any specific systems that you will need to interact with to make your company run.

There are three main choices but only two are workable for most people. Running Windows and Mac. The linux option is not really workable for most users that do not have an extensive technical background or interest.

Windows is compatible with the greatest range of systems and software but is home to more evil software then the Mac. In my opinion Windows is also harder to use and maintain. There are complexities but they re not that bad and can be over come by most people. The core advantage is that the systems are cheaper.

On mac the systems may be more expensive but they are easier to maintain giving you more time to run your business and forcing you to spend less time managing your small network. This is very important for a small businesses.** End Summary**<p>About the Author:<br>John Bottash is a freelance editor and designer.

Your baby's christening or baptism is a very special occasion. It is their introduction into their community of faith and most parents want to make a it a celebration. Getting ready for a Christening can be time-consuming - there's the church date, service details , guest lists, and reception not to mention the child's christening outfit - the list goes on and on and on...

Being a busy parent trying to organize your child's christening why not save yourself some time by ordering personalized invitations online. They are quicker and easier than traditional shop-bought invitations which require you to hand-write the date, time, location and RSVP details onto each individual invitation. Personalized Christening invitations are available in many different designs and colors and most companies will allow you to fully customize the invitations with the christening date, location and details of the reception. Depending on the design of invitation you choose you can also add photographs of your child along with personal sentiments, short bible verses or even a favorite line from a poem.** End Summary**<p>About the Author:<br>John Bottash is a freelance designer and editor.

Wedding Tickers are small pieces of web code that you can put on your web page or email signature to count down to your wedding day.

From a technical point of view the tickers can come in several varieties. The most common are Server side, Flash and html with server side being the most compatible. Server Generated ticker are nothing more than a link to a picture that the web server writes you information on every time it is called. The one concern is that the image file cannot be being stored by a another server along the way or your ticker will not update. Lifeticker.com is a site that uses the static image tickers.

Flash and html tickers are also very popular and can produce great results. They may not be compatible with as many sites so be sure to see what will work where you want to use the tickers.

Counters and Sliders are the two basic designs for tickers. Counters have a numerical countdown on the image and it changes to reflect how much time is left to go.** End Summary**<p>About the Author:<br>John Bottash is a freelance editor and graphic designer.
