The Greatest Of All Time?

On June 7, 2009, millions of spectators worldwide tuned in to see Roger Federer finally secure victory in the French Open, cementing his place as one of the greatest tennis player of all time.

The moment that Robin Soderling's cross-court forehand crashed into the net, Federer fell to his knees in jubilation, joining the elite club of five other tennis legends in securing a victory at each of the four Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, US Open, Wimbledon and the French Open.

Victory in the French will be as sweet as any other of his career. Over the past two years, commentators have questioned whether Federer's career was in decline; his position as the leading force in tennis usurped by Rafael Nadal. Indeed, this year's Australian Open seemed to show Federer handing over the crown to his young adversary, breaking down in tears of sorrow after tasting defeat yet again at the hands of the Spaniard.

But has victory at the French defied his critics?

Many will point to the fact that it was Soderling that Federer defeated at Roland Garros, and not Nadal. **End Summary** Topics: roger federer federer french open roland garros rafa nadal nadal rafael wimbledon 2009
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for Holiday Extras . Holiday Extras specialises in travel add-ons, including airport hotels and airport lounges.

Twenty-Seven: A Great Age To Die?

I've made it to that magical age. The age where the good become great upon meeting their mortality. The age where artists posthumously enter the upper echelons of reverence and fame. That's right, I've reached the ripe old age of twenty-seven.

One of the great myths of our time is that the great die young. Indeed, there are a number of iconic figures with a spot in the special '27 club'; a club reserved for those successful artists whose untimely death only heightened their worth. This article takes a look at five of those who met their maker at the height of their powers.

Jimi Hendrix: Without doubt one of history's most significant and influential artists, Jimi Hendrix revolutionised the way guitar players approached their instrument. Where would we be today without his flamboyant experimentalism? Anyone who's anyone in the world of modern music will acknowledge the genius of Hendrix and bemoan his premature death on September 18, 1970.

Kurt Cobain: Cobain's mother famously declared: "He's gone and joined that stupid club" following his suicide aged 27 on April 5, 1994. **End Summary** Topics: 27 club 27 cobain die at 27 death at 27 hendrix jones morrison johnson
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras .

The Top Five Writing Jobs For The Average Joe

We all have a dream of being a rockstar, a movie star or a footballer, but deep down we all know that such a opportunity will present itself to just a lucky few. For the average Joe, there is never the opportunity to attain such greatness, so what can we do to join the workforce and enjoy our positions to the max?

We have all found ourselves pouring over the job pages online and off, looking for that ideal position that ticks all the boxes. Instead we are presented with an endless array of depressing alternatives: contact centre agent, sales agent, office administrator, etc., etc. Let's be honest, none of us pictured our futures including in such lacklustre environments.

So what roles should Joe Bloggs be looking for? Obviously it's all subjective to the talents and abilities of the candidate in question, but there are a number of opportunities that I, as a writer, would be excited to pursue.

Copywriter: Speaking as a copywriter myself, currently with Holiday Extras, I can easily say that, falling into the correct role is vital. **End Summary** Topics: writing top five five best top writing jobs copywriting journalism proofreading blogging
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras . Holiday Extras specialises in travel add ons, including airport parking and airport hotels.

I Literally Cannot Imagine How Random That Is

The English language is one of the most expressive and evocative in the world, yet is also the most bastardised and abused by its native speakers. How often do you find yourself being subjected to throwaway, non-sensical terms which add nothing to the substance of a conversation? The sad thing is, more than you probably realise.

Some of history's greatest writers were of English descent and composed magnificent prose whose excellence is surpassed only by its legacy. William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and the Bronte sisters are all held in such reverence, not only for their storytelling prowess but by their elegant use of the English language.

Fast-forward to the modern day and the English tongue has been abused to the point where irrelevant sayings such as 'this is literally amazing' and 'that is so random' are commonplace in everyday talk. What's so random? How exactly is it so random? And why do we have to add the word literally to provide emphasis to our adjectives. Surely the adjective is expressive enough? After all, the definition of an adjective is a word or phrase describing an attribute. **End Summary** Topics: english english language shakespeare bronte hamlet oscar wilde dorian gray dickens
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about leading travel destinations such as Bhutan , and providing travel advice for holidaymakers.

Footballing Wages Going Beyond Kaka

The recent publicity concerning the future of Kaka, the Brazilian midfield superstar currently playing for AC Milan, has re-ignited the indignation of the hard-working populace for the reverential status afforded to athletes. But why should we bemoan an individual who is, as is patently clear, one of the best at his job?

The obvious reason is financial and the fact that someone is prepared to offer upwards of GBP500,000 per week to him for little more than partaking in some exercise. This feeling is only compounded by the fact that most football fans could be regarded as your 'Average Joe'; he who holds down a dead-end job for a dead-end wage. And yet it is these very same people that week in week out are cheering on these footballing superstars from the stands.

Kaka is without doubt one of the finest footballers currently playing. Alongside other such stars as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, it is the talent to entertain and make the game look simple that excites millions of fans the world over. But is this enough to warrant a wage that in one week is more than most of us can earn in a lifetime? **End Summary** Topics: kaka kaka wages man city football soccer ac milan kaka to man city
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about leading travel destinations such as Bangaram Island , and providing travel advice for holidaymakers.

Martin Luther King Meets Barack Obama

Since 1983, the third Monday of each January has been observed as Martin Luther King Jr. Day across the United States of America. Nowhere is the day held in such reverence as in King's hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

The inspirational civil rights activist was born here on January 15, 1929, and went on to become one of the most influential figures in mid-20th century politics. It would be the Montgomery Bus Boycott - one of the most significant events in civil rights - that would see King become a widely prominent figure in the black community and send shockwaves across the USA.

Greatly inspired by the non-violent protest techniques of Gandhi, King pursued the ideals of moral and civil unity as a prime force behind the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). It was as a representative of the SCLC that King would go on to deliver arguably the most famous speech in history.

During the March on Washington, in which more than 300,000 protesters gathered before the Lincoln Memorial, King would deliver the word's that are so often quoted and will doubtless be passed on to generations to come. **End Summary** Topics: martin luther king martin luther king jr martin luther king day barack obama inauguration
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about leading travel destinations such as Atlanta , and providing travel advice for holidaymakers.

What's So Great About Angkor Wat?

Travel websites, magazines, brochures and television shows are often preaching to us about the latest 'must-see' destination or the '101 places to see before you die'. But are these reviews simply funded by the relevant destination's tourist board or are we really getting a true overview?

Let's look, for example, at the increasingly popular tourist destination of South East Asia, Cambodia. Many will be more than aware of the captivating array of temples of the nation, including the imperious Angkor Wat, yet there is so much more for the intrepid explorer to unveil.

Having largely been classed as a no-go area, Cambodia today boasts a thriving tourist industry, with those travellers who proclaim to look for a 'real' travel experience placing it near the top of their must-see list. But how 'real' will a visit to anywhere of such renown really be?

For the visitor to Cambodia, there is poignancy and horror to match the abundance of glorious natural scenery and welcoming people. This is, after all, a nation that had been torn apart by war and beset by the legacy of the Khmer Rouge, so scars of its former torment are easily discoverable. **End Summary** Topics: cambodia angkor wat asia top destinations holiday destinations holidays holiday ideas
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about leading travel destinations such as Camodia , and providing travel advice for holidaymakers.

You Know What Really Grinds My Gears... About Office Work

As a homage to Family Guy's Peter Griffin, this article takes a look at five reasons why working in an office environment can has a detrimental affect to employees sanity.

For anyone who has experience of working in an office for prolonged periods of time, many of the issues detailed will seem common. In fact, for those lucky enough to escape the drudgery of such an environment, the excruciating antics seen on The Office can often be just the tip of the iceberg.

1. Office hours. More and more we are seeing companies offering contracts to employees stating working hours as being 9am to 5.30pm. Where has this extra 30 minutes come from? More pressingly, what does it achieve? By that time of the working day, most people have long-since downed tools and are on Facebook anyway.

Does it also mean that karaoke singers around the world are going to have to shoehorn in that extra half hour to the Dolly Parton song? Imagine: "Working nine to half-past five, what a way to make a living". As if karaoke - and Dolly Parton - weren't insufferable enough.

2. Charity days. **End Summary** Topics: the office family guy grinds my gears office work work working 9 to 5
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

Inspired by this hilarious diatribe on pet hates, and with the festive season well and truly upon us, I felt it necessary to share details of what really grinds my gears about Christmas. Don't get me wrong, Christmas as a whole is my favourite time of year. However, there are still a number of issues that ruin the holiday season.

1. Christmas specials. Year in year out, we are 'treated' by television executives to a Yuletide edition of a network favourite. Unfortunately, many of these network 'favourites' are nothing of the sort. If I had the option of gouging out my own eyes or watching an episode of 'My Family' or 'Not Going Out', I would be embedding my fingers into my eye sockets quicker than Santa can wolf down a mince pie.

These shows are pitiful attempts at comedy that are only worsened by putting a festive slant on the dross that is the storyline. And don't even get me started on the reruns of so-called classics such as Morecombe and Wise. They're dead. **End Summary** Topics: christmas family guy grinds my gears festive xmas xmas tv christmas shopping presents
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

Who Would Win: A Cheetah Or Gazelle?

From a young age we all learn that the cheetah is one of Earth's speediest land mammals, but if you have ever spent time in pursuit of a gazelle, you will know that they too have the ability to easily show you a clean pair of heels. As such, I have been plagued for some time but the poser: who would win in a race between a cheetah and a gazelle?

In extensive research I myself have carried out via the encyclopedic wonder that is Wikipedia, the race would depend on a number of factors. Initially, with the ability to accelerate to speeds in excess of 70 mph in little over three seconds, the cheetah has a clear advantage over the gazelle. Indeed, the top speed of gazelle reaches approximately 50 mph - a significant difference.

But I am not interested in short races; the race I am concerned with is a marathon, not a sprint (not technically a marathon in the sense of 26 miles, but more a metaphorical marathon). The question I propose concerns the running of a race over a distance of, say, a mile.

This is where it gets interesting. **End Summary** Topics: cheetah gazelle attenborough animal race wildlife fastest animal cheetah speed gazelle speed
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about airport car parking at Gatwick and Stansted .

Is There A Specific Ocean?

Without doubt, one of the biggest gripes I have is the pronunciation of the word 'specific' as 'Pacific'. Geography may not be my strong point, but I'm pretty certain there is no Specific Ocean, so why the confusion when asking somebody to do something in a precise and clearly identified manner?

Having worked as a professional writer for eight years, it is remarkable at how far this problem stretches. In taking briefs from company directors, CEOs, editors and experienced marketing campaigners, the amount of times I have been asked to 'pacifically' do something when they actually mean to 'specifically' do something runs into the hundreds, if not thousands. In being asked to 'pacifically' do something, are they actually asking me to do something peaceful in nature?

Now, I myself am culpable of slips of the tongue and mispronunciation - hence that's why I prefer to communicate with the written word - yet, such is the extent of the issue, it seems as though the majority of the UK is not being taught the English language. **End Summary** Topics: english english language specific pacific writing english literature english lit
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about airport car parking at Gatwick and Stansted .

The Mamma Mia! Phenomenon

The critics hate it, the music is 30 years old, it's full of embarrassing middle-aged people cavorting about, it's painfully uncool. And it's the highest grossing British film of all time at the UK box office. What the Benny and Bjorn is going on?

Over the summer, and continuing into the chilly, credit crunched autumn, thousands and thousands of us have willingly entered cinemas to watch the likes of Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Julie Walters sing old songs (badly) and leap around (creakily). Basically like watching your mum, dad and auntie dirty-dancing at a wedding for two hours.

Mamma Mia! the film has made 66,995,224 pounds in the UK so far, topping Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, according to the Telegraph. Around the world it has made over 500 million dollars, making it one of the most profitable movies ever.

Cinema experts generally agree that a fatal combination of external factors has caused this phenomenon. Dire summer weather is guaranteed to send families scurrying into the film theatre, and they'll pretty much watch anything.

This summer was another wash-out, with 53,642,237 cinema admissions recorded between June and August 2008. **End Summary** Topics: mamma mia the movie mamma mia pierce brosnan meryl streep abba airport parking
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking for the South Terminal , Gatwick airport parking for both terminals and Stansted airport parking .

Top Five Bands Beginning With H

'Music makes the world go round, the world go round, the world go round. Music makes the world go round, all day long'. Ne'er a true word spoke than this timeless nursery rhyme. But what music is responsible for making the world go around?

This article takes a look at just five bands that have produced unforgettable albums over the years. It is your duty to go out and listen to them... else the world will not go round and you will be held accountable!

Hell Is For Heroes: It seems incredible that Hell Is For Heroes remain something of an over-shadowed entity among British bands. Formed in 2000 following the demise of pop-punk band Symposium, the band would not release an album until 2003, with The Neon Handshake cementing the popularity the group were achieving through vibrant live shows. The album remains the most complete work by the quintet, with standout tracks including You Drove Me To It and I Can Climb Mountains. It is regrettable, then, that the band are to go on indefinite hiatus after a short tour in November.

Hundred Reasons: Another British band achieving cult status is Hundred Reasons. **End Summary** Topics: good bands artists H hole hundred reasons hell is for heroes hardcore head automatica helmet
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about airport car parking at Gatwick and Stansted .

It is often said that 'music has the charms to soothe a savage beast', and certainly there are a great number of musical greats to please the masses. Yet for many, the need to uncover an hitherto unheard of artist is something that excites and inspires.

In an effort to aid those looking for something new to experience, this article can provide a number of recommendations. So why not take a read of the Top Five Bands Beginning With G, nip out to the local music store and treat your ears to a variety of aural delights.

Glassjaw: One of my all time favourite bands, somewhat surprisingly Glassjaw's influence has far exceeded their popularity. Debut album, Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence, is an absolute masterpiece in the genre of hardcore and post-punk. Daryl Palumbo undoubtedly has one of the greatest voices and vocal deliveries of the past 20 years, with the wit, ferocity and sheer emotion to be felt from his ear-shattering screams and delicate phrasing a wonder to behold. **End Summary** Topics: top bands music good bands rock bands green day glassjaw garbage goldfinger
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about airport car parking at Gatwick and Stansted .

As it gets chillier and the days get shorter, those of us with young families will want to plan some exciting escapes from the house. Happily, the capital is brimming with events and activities to warm up those cockles and entertain the most objectionable child. Many of these events are free too.

At the beginning of November the skies across London will be illuminated by fantastic firework displays. So this year, forget the burnt bangers and cranky catherine wheels in your back garden and head to the city.

Battersea Park and Hampton Court Palace are both hosting impressive events on Saturday November 1st with small fees. Advanced booking is recommended for the Hampton Court display. On Sunday November 2nd, free displays will take place at Victoria Park in Bethnal Green and Clapham Common.

The following Saturday (November 8th) is the Alexandra Palace display, a North London tradition for over 100 years. There is a small fee on entry. Free events will take place on the same day at Blackheath and from a barge moored on the Thames between Waterloo and Blackfriars bridges to accompany the annual Lord Mayor's Show procession. **End Summary** Topics: things to do in london london autumn london winter london christmas airport parking fireworks
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Heathrow breakfast offer , Heathrow Undercover and Heathrow Baylis House .

Swap Your Bible For The Side Of A Bus

As the British Humanist Association announces details of its forthcoming poster campaign, this article looks at why such a move should be seen as a giant leap in positivity.

The news that London buses are set to bear slogans such as 'There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life' has brought a welcome sense of acceptance for the views of atheists the world over. It seems inevitable there will be a spiteful backlash from leading religious bodies, and I for one would not be surprised to see the campaign withdrawn, perhaps even before the scheduled launch in January.

Atheism has often been portrayed as little more than a hatred of religious beliefs, when in fact its nothing of the kind. While posters claiming salvation through Christ are commonplace throughout the UK, any public form of atheism seems to be immediately jumped upon and criticised for being immoral and unjust. As an atheist myself, I find said posters claiming salvation an affront to both my beliefs and those of other religions.

For example, I myself have witnessed posters making such statements as 'there is only one Lord' or 'Jesus was the sole prophet'. **End Summary** Topics: london buses british humanist association religion atheism richard dawkins god delusion
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

Five Ways To Pass The Time

Ever been placed in the situation where there is an incredible amount of time to kill and very little to keep you entertained? Perhaps on a flight or long car journey, waiting in hospital or even during a lunch break at work?

If so, you will be more than aware that trying to pass the time can be somewhat cumbersome and difficult. These periods may well be too long to simply sit them out, or too short to begin a task that may prove to be substantial. As such, in an effort to beat the boredom, this article provides just five suggestions for ways in which you can keep occupied, in this instance during a prolonged car journey.

Music
Undoubtedly one of the most popular inventions of the last decade, the iPod has gone on to spawn a host of imitators that enable music fans to transport virtually their entire music collection wherever they go. Little bigger than a mobile phone, time will surely fly as you scroll through thousands upon thousands of songs. In addition, with these portable entertainment systems also able to show video and connect to the internet, there should be no reason for boredom! **End Summary** Topics: psp ipod bored boring pastimes hobbies entertainment how to travel advice
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

We've all worked depressing jobs and know how difficult it can be to stay enthused in our roles. As such, it is often up to you, and those around you, to find a way in which to keep entertained in those hours between 9am and 5pm.

In an effort to aid those having a dull day, this article compiles just five of the ways you can irritate those you work with in an effort to stay amused. Please note, however, that this article is not advocating the bullying of colleagues or slacking off from your duties, but simply advises ways to bring a little bit of light to your working day!

Footsie
Sitting opposite a colleague can often prove a cumbersome and mind-numbing experience, not least if that person is one of those individuals that seems to dislike conversation. Perhaps the easiest way to keep yourself entertained with such a colleague is to ensure you stretch your legs out fully to gentle nudge those of the person opposite. Do it on a few occasions throughout the day and I guarantee there will be disgruntled sighs coming your way. **End Summary** Topics: work jokes work boring jobs funny jobs fun at work the office work tricks
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

If you have ever been sitting around with little else to do, you may have suddenly asked yourself: "Who are the best five bands beginning with the letter F?" Should that be the case, this article is perfect answer to that question. If, however, you have never thought of asking yourself that, then you have clearly never had a boring job!

Either way, this article brings you the definitive list of bands beginning with F for you to listen to with immediate effect. So get reading and start listening!

Funeral For A Friend: Being half Welsh and a fan of all things guitar, it would be a crime for me not to name Funeral For A Friend as one of my top five bands beginning with F. The five-piece first came to my attention through the NME (yes, I'm as shocked as you), but I set about searching for material to listen too. Having come across some demos and live recordings, it was only with the debut album - Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation - that their true potential shone through. **End Summary** Topics: bands guitar bands filter funeral for a friend finch foo fighters fort minor good bands
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

Old Versus New: A Fair Comparison?

How often do we see comparisons made between the sportsmen of yesteryear and those of the modern era? At a time when Sachin Tendulkar has achieved the monumental achievement of scoring over 12,000 runs in test cricket, some have already declared that no-one - not even the prolific Tendulkar - will compare to the likes of Sir Don Bradman.

Undoubtedly, Bradman was a master of his craft and played less matches. But what is vital to remember is that during the time he played cricket, many of his opponents were not of the calibre we see today. In the modern sporting arena, professionalism is the name of the game. Those who are not full-time professionals are quickly found out. We need only turn our attention to football to prove this point.

On rare occasions we will find a non-league, semi-professional football team beat one of the bigger names and cause an upset. But the likelihood that a team made up of semi-pros playing in their free time will go on to be the champions of Europe is a nonsense. **End Summary** Topics: cricket football ronaldo cristiano ronaldo lionel messi bradman tendulkar record cricket
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

Why I Prefer Atheism To Religion

There are many reasons to praise the good that religion has done for the world throughout history, but in a world where, for some, religion is no longer a necessity, this article takes a look at just a few of the reasons why Atheism should replace religious faith.

Science
The greatest attribute an atheist possesses is the ability for reason. Provide an atheist with evidence and proof and facts and they will take on board what has been said and accept the evidence. Provide proof and facts to a religious body and it is dismissed out of hand instantly. I suppose we should thank our lucky stars we're not living a couple hundred years ago else we'd be burnt for heresy.

Jesus
Very little, if any, actual proof exists that Jesus existed. And then think about it: if a man came up to you in the street today claiming to be the son of the great creator, what exactly would you say to him? Exactly - it cannot be printed because children may be reading. Has everybody forgotten about David Icke?

Still, good ol' Jesus. He had his finger on the pulse of society. **End Summary** Topics: atheism atheists no god jesus christianity creationism jesus christ
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

It was William Shakespeare that said in Twelfth Night: "If music be the food of love, play on". Like Duke Orsino many of us may be more than familiar with unrequited love, so what better way to purge this feeling than by indulging in music?

But who - and what - to listen to, that is the question? (A bastardised Shakespearean quote, I know, and one for which I apologise).

In an effort to answer such a question, this article will provide readers with a list of five bands and artists that should hold a place in any music collection.

Explosions In The Sky: If ever there were one band that demands far greater attention, it is Explosions In The Sky. Formed in Texas in 1999, the four-piece are exponents of which they themselves call "cathartic mini-symphonies". True to their word, their instrumental compositions are a lesson in emotional soundscapes, eliciting a host of emotions from the listener as the tracks progress. Debut album How Strange, Innocence is a perfect representation of the band's abilities and makes a perfect introduction to their work. **End Summary** Topics: bands e eels everclear explosions in the sky enter shikari electric six good bands band lists
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

Do you find yourself scouring your record collection or scrolling through your iPod playlists and struggling to find something to listen to? If so, you are not alone.

We all want to hear something fresh and memorable and discover that next great artist that we can truly garner inspiration and excitement from. But sometimes we could all use a little direction. As such, this article provides a number of suggestions, with each band or artists name beginning with the letter D.

Why the letter D you ask? Why the devil not!

Deftones: One of the greatest bands of the modern era, the Deftones are a significantly influential artist that inspires many of the current crop of heavier bands. Often typecast as a nu-metal band, Deftones exude far greater songwriting ability in comparison to other outfits of their generation. From the sheer intensity of Chino Moreno's scream to the poignant emotion of his lyrics and restrained vocals, each album contains songs so essential that every recording from their catalogue deserves careful attention.

Dirty Pretty Things: It is unfortunate that Dirty Pretty Things often appear overshadowed by the antics of Carl Barat's former bandmate Pete Doherty. **End Summary** Topics: top bands band lists the doors depeche mode dream theater deftones dirty pretty things
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels and Heathrow airport parking .

There are thousands upon thousands of bands and artists out there, but who are the best? One of the solutions for breaking down musical artists into groups is to categorise them by genre. Another may be by era. This article takes the opportunity to list them in a simpler way - by recommending bands to listen to beginning with the letter C.

This article is nothing more than a brief list of suggestions, often acting as a quick guide for music lovers to tread the waters of particular musical genres. Accordingly, there may be some obscure, popular and frankly absurd suggestions!

The Clash: Undoubtedly one of the greatest bands of all time, The Clash can boast a legacy that looks set to be preserved for decades to come. As one of the primary exponents of politicising lyrics and hugely influential UK punk movement, The Clash boast an incredible number of hits that are ingrained on the psyche of modern musicians the world over. Narrowing down any particular songs and albums to check out is impossible - do all you can to hear everything! **End Summary** Topics: clash the cure johnny cash coheed and cambria top bands music with c great bands band list
About the Author:
Max Clarke is a copywriter for holiday services company, Holiday Extras, currently writing about Gatwick airport parking , Manchester airport hotels , Heathrow airport parking and UK music .

Promotion Seekers Starving Their Way to the Top

A report published by Chiumento - a leading UK human resources company - has shown that the number of UK employees taking a regular lunch break away from their desk has significantly diminished as worries over job security has grown.

The research indicated that only 16 percent of employees regularly take a full hour on at least three occasions in working week. The announcement will be seen by many as a clear indication that the modern day employee faces further unnecessary stress at a time when finances and expenditure are limited by the credit crunch.

The fact that employees are feeling the need to work through their lunch, take lunch at their desks or disappear for little more than ten minutes should be of concern to both employees and employers alike.
