Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease Natural Remedies

Arteriosclerotic heart disease is a leading cause of coronary heart disease. This condition results from the accumulation of fatty substances and plaque. As the coronary arteries narrow, the flow of blood to your heart slows down or stops, resulting in chest pain, or angina, shortness of breath and heart attack.

Arteriosclerotic heart disease or coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. for both women and men alike. There are many factors which can increase the risk of arterisclerotic heart disease. Some of the risks are based on family history and others are preventable. Diabetes, physical inactivity, menopause in women, obesity, tobacco use, high blood pressure, infection that causes inflammation to the artery, high cholesterol level and homocysteine levels are all major risk factors of heart disease.

The symptoms of arteriosclerotic heart disease are similar to that of coronary heart disease mentioned above - chest pain (angina), shortness of breath, and heart attack, however, angina, or squeezing pain in the chest, is the most common symptom. It is often mistaken for indigestion and is usually felt in the chest, but it may also occur in the shoulders, neck, arms, jaw and back, particularly in women. **End Summary** Topics: Arteriosclerotic heart disease Arteriosclerosis heart disease
About the Author:
Garey Simmons writes about heart health from the perspective his personal experience.
Hypertensive Heart Disease Remedies

Hypertensive heart disease is the number one cause of death related to hypertension and is actually a group of ailments that include heart failure, ischemic heart disease, and hypertensive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Heart failure is when your heart's pumping capability is weaker than normal. With heart failure, blood moves through the heart and body at a slow pace and pressure in the heart increases. As a result, high blood pressure increases the workload of the heart, and eventually, this can cause thickening of your heart muscle and the symptoms of hypertensive heart disease. As your heart continues to pump against elevated pressure in the blood vessels, the left ventricle becomes enlarged, and the amount of blood pumped by the heart each minute goes down. If this condition is not treated, symptoms of congestive heart failure such as swelling of arms, legs, ankles and feet may develop.

Hypertension gives rise to heart failure by causing coronary artery disease. The symptoms of heart failure may include shortness of breath, swelling in the feet/ankles/abdomen, difficulty sleeping flat in bed, bloating, irregular pulse, nausea, fatigue, and constant urination at night. **End Summary** Topics: hypertension blood pressure
About the Author:
Garey Simmons writes about heart health from the perspective his personal experience.
What Is An Acai Berry?

Everyone has seen the word, maybe heard it on the television, radio, and even on billboards. The acai berry and the diet associated with it. But what is it exactly and why is there a huge fuss about it?

First of all, the acai berry has been used for many generations by native Brazilians. It is a small round berry usually blackish purple in color, resembling a grape or blueberry but smaller. It has a large seed with minimal pulp and provides maximum juice.

It is found in some palm trees that can reach heights of 82 feet in the Amazon rain forest and that is where it is largely grown and harvested. Unlike cherries and most other fruit however, it grows in bunches, much like bananas, instead of individually. Each tree, on average, can yield anywhere from three to eight bunches of acai berries.

What is so great about this small berry and why has it become a huge name in the diet industry? The Acai berry has been labeled as an antioxidant.

It is rich in omega fats, protein, electrolytes, amino acids, antioxidants, and vitamins A, E and B1. **End Summary** Topics: acai berry acai weight loss acai supplement
About the Author:
Garey Simmons writes about heart health from the perspective his personal experience.
The Truth About Farm Raised Fish and Omega-3

The truth is that Omega-3 fatty acids that are so beneficial for you, your heart health and your brain health, originate in plants. This is a little known fact. Most people who know about Omega-3 fatty acids think it's all about eating fish and it is with a couple of major caveats.

For example, to get the highest concentration of EPA/DHA, the two long-chained fatty acids that help prevent heart disease, and support brain and eye health, we are told to eat fish.

The problem is that most fish bought in the supermarket are farm raised and not wild. Fish farms are businesses that need to turn a profit. Corn based feeds are used to fatten up the fish, but corn yields little nutritional value and no Omega-3 benefits.

Corn is a starch, an it's deception to think of it as a vegetable. As much I like to eat it, if I choose to eat corn, it may taste good, but it holds very little nutritional value for my optimal health goals. Tilapia raised on a farm is good for protein but not for Omega-3 content.

So where do the Omega-3s really come from? Fish is not the answer. **End Summary** Topics: omega-3 fish heart health
About the Author:
Garey Simmons writes about heart health from the perspective his personal experience.
Causes of Coronary Heart Disease

Numerous extensive research and studies have uncovered a number of factors responsible for increasing the risk of coronary heart disease. According to those researchers, these risk factors are highly associated with coronary heart disease, but the degree of their prevalence is not yet accurately determined, therefore these factors are just deemed contributing causes of coronary heart disease.

These contributing causes are to some degree controllable, modifiable and treatable. However, some are due to natural causes such as age, heredity, and sex. Let s talk about these factors one by one.

1. Human beings age, and the more we age, the greater the chances of getting coronary heart disease. Studies have shown that more than 83 percent of those who die of coronary heart disease are 65 or older.

2. Hereditary Factors Coronary heart disease is said to occur as a result of heredity. This means that a person who has a family history of coronary heart disease is more likely to develop the disease. Simply put, the chances of coronary heart disease occurring in a person depend largely on the medical history of that person. According to most people, CHD runs in the blood.

3. **End Summary** Topics: chronic heart disease heart attack stroke
About the Author:
Garey Simmons writes about heart health from the perspective his personal experience.
How to Reduce Blood Pressure Naturally

Many of my clients with high blood pressure take premium Omega-3 oils, and have reported benefits such as decrease in "spikes", normalized pressure readings and other cardiovascular beneficial effects.

Hypertension is High Blood Pressure, and blood pressure is defined as: (from Wikipedia)
"... the force exerted by circulating blood on the walls of blood vessels, and constitutes one of the principal vital signs. The pressure of the circulating blood decreases as blood moves through arteries, arterioles, capillaries, and veins; the term blood pressure generally refers to arterial pressure, i.e., the pressure in the larger arteries, arteries being the blood vessels which take blood away from the heart."

I just googled "stress and hypertension" and got back 2.6 million results. So there might be something to that as well.

From The Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA states, "Stress can cause hypertension through repeated blood pressure elevations as well as by stimulation of the nervous system to produce large amounts of vasoconstricting hormones that increase blood pressure."

So there is this mind body connection as well. **End Summary** Topics: blood pressure stress omega-3s
About the Author:
Garey Simmons writes about heart health from the perspective his personal experience.

Questions! First Question: Is cholesterol a good thing or bad thing? How many of you reading this article think cholesterol is a bad thing? How many of you think cholesterol is a good thing?

It\'s a trick question. If you are breathing right now, I can guarantee you that you have cholesterol in every cell of your body. IF you can think a thought, your brain is operating in a reasonable fashion then you have a good amount of cholesterol in your brain.

There is good cholesterol and there is bad cholesterol (so called) denoted by HDL and LDL.

Which one is good? Yes, HDL is high density lipids, they\'re good. LDL is low density lipids and they are not so good. In the industry we call it BAD cholesterol. That\'s a technical term. So your Lipid profile - when you do your annual blood test is made up of LDL/HDL/Total and Triglycerides another kind of fat. Triglycerides were my problem. I contracted hepatitis while working as a teacher in India back in 1976. **End Summary** Topics: cholesterol omega-3s heart disease
About the Author:
Garey Simmons writes about heart health from the perspective

Nature's Statin - Vitamin C and Lysine!

Did you know there were "other" theories of heart disease besides (lipid) cholesterol theory? If you were to ask anyone in our society, what is the main cause of heart disease? Invariably cholesterol would be one of the main answers you would hear. This shows what $60,000,000 a year can do from just one company's budget to promote one statin drug on television.

There is another theory. There are 2 unshared Nobel Prizes awarded and Linus Pauling has one of them. Yet, not one clinical study has been funded. The Unified Theory of Heart Disease has less to do with cholesterol and more to do with a chronic Vitamin C deficiency that leads to inflammation. A C-reactive Protein test will scale your inflammation level.

You want to be getting more than 60mgs of Vitamin C per day. This is the recommended dose of the US Government to prevent scurvy.

It been suggested taking 1200 mgs or more would not only be beneficial for immune support but the great scientist Linus Paulings recommended Vitamin C as a means of reversing heart disease. **End Summary** Topics: Omega-3 Unified Theory of Heart Disease Vitamin C Lysine
About the Author:
'

I want you to start asking questions. Yep, just like all the commericials on the TV say, "Ask your doctor about..." But here is the question I have been asking for 2 years and finally, finally am beginning to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

It's about this cholesterol doctrine or dogma, the action of Omega-3s on cholesterol, etc. It is certainly not what you see on the television. So last week I am at a trade show with all the new health products and I run into a gentleman, a pharmacologist, who is also an inventor of nutraceutical supplements.

After one hour of being schooled, I have some possible answers. You don't have to believe it, you don't have to accept it. **End Summary** Topics: res-q 1250 Omega-3s Omega3 fish oil heart health statin drugs rescue 1250
About the Author:
'Garey Simmons' writes about heart health from the perspective
