ADHD & Teen Drivers

Today is National ADHD Awareness Day, and a new study focuses--no pun intended--on teen drivers with the condition.

The study finds how well they performs behind the wheel of a car may be directly influenced by optimizing dosing of medication, especially in the afternoon and evening.

The authors of the study say for all teenagers, motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death.

For adolescents with ADHD, you multiply that by a factor of four, and it becomes a huge problem.

So these kids need to be armed with the right medicine and other tools to be a safe driver.

Alison O’Brien now is vigilant when she drives, but that wasn’t always the case.

She has been on medication for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder since she was six years old. But when she was younger, she didn’t always remember to take it--a problem when getting behind the wheel.

Alison says, “That day I actually forgot my medicine so I was really unfocused and I couldn’t really drive very well. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/condition_344.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_994.html

ACL Injuries with NFL Players | Orthopedics

If you're at all a sports fan, or an athlete yourself, you've probably heard of the anterior cruciate ligament.

It's commonly injured.

Now a new study shows what happens to NFL players who are sidelined by their acl's, and it's not good news for players or fans and the owners.

Now, a ligament is a strong piece of connective tissue that connects bone to bone across a joint. The anterior cruciate ligament crosses with the posterior cruciate ligament in the center of the knee.

They control the backward and forward motion of the knee. The ACL in particular restrains excessive forward motion of the knee as well as the inward twisting or rotation of the knee.

In fact, the ACL is frequently injured in severe twisting injuries of the knee or with a sudden stop.

This new research in the American Journal of Sports Medicine looking specifically at ACL injuries in NFL players found those who suffer one of these injuries will likely never be the same player again.

Essentially, total yards and touchdowns were markedly diminished when they returned after surgery.

Dr. James Gladstone, an orthopedic surgeon at Mt. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/condition_360.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1042.html

Study on What Is The Impact of Smoking on Vascular Disease?

Smoking is one of the very strong risk factors for developing vascular disease. We have seen very young people who smoke develop vascular disease. Normally as our arteries become blocked, it is a part of aging. Most of the patients with vascular disease are in the 60's, 70s and beyond. But one who smokes very heavily, someone who started smoking very early in their teens, one who smokes one or two packs a day regularly... we see that they get vascular disease 10 to 20 years earlier. Some people in their 40s have severe vascular disease. So there is no question that smoking is a strong risk factor.

Also, if you can make then stop smoking. It is not so easy for a lot of people. But if you can make them stop smoking you can halt the progression of the
disease. We have a lot of people whom we didn't have to operate. They came with severe symptoms. As soon as we realized they were really heavy smokers, we said was that, first, you must stop smoking and see. And a lot of their symptoms did not progress. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/story_124.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1321.html

Gastric Banding

Millions of us are fighting the battle of the bulge. While diet and exercise work, for many it doesn’t cut it. But aggressive surgery is too much for most. This is really intended for those considered morbidly, or extremely obese, so much so it’s an immediate risk to one’s health.

Now, maybe, there’s something in between.

Ed Schauder has struggled for years with his weight…
It’s been a recurring cycle of failed diets. “Just about every single one of them, slim fast, weigh watchers,” says Ed.

And when he hit his forties, he realized, he was in trouble.

“I probably was more than 370 pounds when I first cam here in May of 2005. I couldn’t register on the scale,” says Ed.

Ed was heavy enough certainly for a roux-en-y bypass procedure, which involves a bypass of the intestine and stomach stapling. But he was afraid of surgery and the potential complications.

So almost exactly a year ago, he opted for gastric banding instead. It involves placing around the top portion of the stomach an adjustable band that can be inflated and made progressively tighter. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/condition_713.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_879.html

Emergency Rooms and STDs

A new medical study raises an important question: should anyone who is seen in an emergency room be automatically screened and treated for other essential problems and conditions that in the end affect society as a whole—such as sexually transmitted illnesses?

Some experts are saying a visit to the emergency room should mean much more to many patients besides ice, ace wraps, and sutures.

“Unfortunately without a primary care physician they are missing out on a lot of important services,” says second-year pediatric resident Dr. David Kessler and supervising physician Dr. Karin Sadow at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

They recognized that once a patient is finally seeing a doctor in the E.R., for whatever reason, while it’s certainly not an ideal or inexpensive place to have a patient visit, at least they’re there.

And maybe, screening for other health issues that are costly to society as a whole makes sense.

The researchers had young males coming in for any reason, complete an anonymous questionnaire on sexual behavior.
They also performed urine-screening tests for gonorrhea and Chlamydia.

They found a high frequency of high-risk sexual behaviors and sexually transmitted illness among those who use the E. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_98.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_877.html

Air Conditioners and Allergies

The summer heat is on, but we're still suffering terribly from our allergies. And so a lot of us are spending time indoors to escape the heat and the pollen.

But are we jumping from the allergy frying pan into the fire?

You might be if your air conditioner isn't clean!

It's amazing at how some of the simplest things can cause the biggest problems. But fortunately, the simple things are simple to fix.

So if yourre suffering from terrible allergies, and you haven't cleaned your air conditioning filter lately, the answer to your health problems might be quite an easy one: clean the filter!

Take Alisa Adler Landau for example: she is really suffering from her allergies, especially this year. So she has a simple solution. "Staying indoors with air conditioning is the best. I just have it on all the time I never shut it off,"says Alisa.

And that's the right idea for someone like her!

Dr. Beth Eve Corn, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, say, "Air conditioning is extremely important for patients with allergy and asthma. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/condition_808.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_868.html

Healthwrap Oral Health

A new review suggests dentists need to spend more time, using psychology to convince people to do a better job at improving their oral health.

The fact is, tooth brushing and flossing remain the keys to oral health.

They are the most important steps in helping to keep a person's teeth for a lifetime.

Still, brushing and flossing are not as popular as dentists would like.

Nearly 90 percent of periodontists polled said patients are lax about flossing frequently and 61 percent reported that their patients could improve their flossing technique.

So how far does it need to go to get patients on track?

Some experts suggest meeting with psychologists to convince them to take care of their teeth!

While it sounds a little excessive, that type of strategy did lead to lower plaque levels on the teeth of people who underwent them.

With obesity on the rise in the United States, are healthy choices available when eating out?

A new study, in the may issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, sought to understand how restaurant chains make decisions about their menus. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_95.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1160.html

There is a new soft drink hitting the market that does what no other soft drink has ever claimed to do: you drink it, and you’ll burn calories.

Is it truly possible?

Please say it’s so.

You know, there’s a lot to be said for a brownie and a diet coke; i mean, why add insult to injury.

At least the diet coke isn’t pouring on more calories.

But what if--just if--there was something that could go one better, and negate the effects of that brownie?

From the folks who bring you nestle crunch bars and coca cola….

Comes….

Drum roll please…..

Enviga!

This puppy is being called the…the calorie burner!

Don’t believe it?

Well, believe it, because coke and nestle did the clinical research to prove it, on top of basic science already laying the ground road to the claim.

The evidence shows an interaction between a chemical in green tea called egcg and caffeine, both of which are in Enviga.

No Kidding, Let's Get Active

Childhood obesity has become a major health problem in America. About 16% of children ages 11-17 are overweight, which can have a lifelong effect on health and self-image. The focus on childhood obesity tends to point to school activities and school lunches, but a recent study at Ohio State University found that the time when kids can gain the most weight is over the summer break.

One of the best ways to keep kids healthy is to keep them active, but it isn't always easy to come up with new ways to get them moving - here are some starters:

Plan family activities like bike rides or hikes which physically engages everyone. Seeing you exercise and put a priority on physical health will teach them the importance of it.

Give them chores. Not everything is fun and games. Having regular, assigned chores like washing the dishes, mowing the lawn, or washing the car not only teaches kids responsibility, it's also an aerobic activity.

Sign them up for a class or team. Have your kids learn basketball, baseball, or soccer. Teach them to dance or swim. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_34.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1209.html

What is Renal Stenosis?

It is very interesting that a lot op people don't know that blocking the arteries of the kidney can be a cause for hypertension. Particularly someone who is young and becomes hypertensive suddenly, one should make sure there is no blockage in the renal arteries. There are millions of people with hypertension, so it's easy to think that we should simply give them medications. But it's important to understand that there is a very small segment of the population, who develop hypertension at a young age, particularly in their twenties, thirties, forties. They need to be looked into. All we need to do is a scan of their kidneys. What is called a duplex scan or an ultrasound of their arteries. With this methodology we can actually pick up a narrowing of the arteries.

What happens if the arteries to the kidneys are narrowed or blocked, the kidney produces a substance in response that causes blood pressure to increase enormously. If you can open up the kidney artery by angioplasty or stenting we can cure them. Not everyone can be cured but at least in a lot of people we can reduce the number of medications they are on. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_109.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1312.html

If Left Untreated, Varicose Veins Can Pose Risks

Varicose veins are an unsightly nuissance for one in two people over 50 who enjoy wearing warm weather clothing during summer months. For many people, the aesthetic benefit of getting treatment to clear up these bulging, ropy, or bruised looking veins offers enough incentive. However, few people are aware of the health dangers that can arise if varicose veins are left untreated.

Varicose Veins are englarged veins that are swollen and raised above the surface of the skin and are commonly found on the back of calves or on the inside of the leg. The cause of this condition is the weakening of veins pumping blood back to the heart that causes blood to leak back into the vein and collect there. Over time, varicose veins enlarge and severe pooling of blood in the veins can slow return of blood to the heart. The result is a increased possibility of blood clots that can travel from the legs to the lungs, where they can block the heart and lungs from functioning. Other problems associated with untreated varicose veins include sores, skin ulcers, ongoing irritation, swelling, and painful rashes of the legs. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_131.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1304.html

What is Carotid Stenosis?

Dr. Sateesh Babu of Vascular Associates of Westchester discusses "What is Carotid Stenosis?", the treatments, who should be screened and future developments, such as new stenting techniques.

What is Carotid Stenosis?

Carotid arteries are the two major arteries that provide the bulk of the blood to the brain. They are the major arteries to the brain. Hardening of the arteries, atherosclerosis is a common disease. Just like atherosclerosis can affect the heart it can affect the arteries to the brain. The arteries to the brain are affected by plaque build-up. So what happens is that the the arteries become narrow. If the artery is narrowed to a significant degree -- generally more than 75% percent of its luminal area -- then there is a good chance that the patient will have a stroke with 24 to 36 months. This is another area where detection is extremely important -- because once a stroke happens the game is over, We cannot do too much to help the patient. This is one area where we need to get to the patient before he suffers from a stroke. We can detect a problem by ultrasound -- its called duplex scanning. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_754.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1307.html

What is an Aneurysm?

WHAT IS AN AORTIC ANEURYSM?

The term, aneurysm actually means the dilation of a segment of an artery. It is a gradual process that occurs primarily in elderly people. It doesn't really occur in young people. It's primarily an aspect of aging as well as something else that makes our arteries weak. Essentially our arteries are tube-like structures. Arteries are like pipes that carry blood to various parts of the body. The pipe becomes like a balloon because the artery weakens. This is an aneurysm .Naturally when something becomes like a balloon over the years, it becomes weaker and weaker. Eventually it can rupture. If it ruptures it is fatal. There is no chance of survival. So that is the reason why an aneurysm should be detected before the catastrophe happens. So that we can treat it.

HOW DO YOU DIAGNOSE AN AORTIC ANEURYSM?

Diagnosis is really simple. If it is a large aneurysm one can feel it when one examines the belly of a person. The most common aneurysm is a abdominal aorta. Also, these should not be be mistaken for a brain aneurysm which has no relation to this. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_130.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1305.html

"I usually pop right out of bed most of the time," says Jackie.

Don't ya hate people like Jackie? Most of us are like Shumon and Jessica.

"I have to have two alarms every morning," says Shumon.

"I set my alarm clock for five forty and then I hit snooze I don't get up until six thirty I tell you that much girl," says Jessica.

That's more like it. Misery loves company.

But peppy New Jersey mom Cathy Beggan says, she has the answer. "I noticed I had great energy during day when I took certain supplements everyday," says Cathy.

So Cathy put the supplements she took every morning, and put them into this one product called Wake Up On Time.

"Well, it does help wake you up. I still use my alarm clock but once it goes off I jump out of bed. I don't use the snooze button over and over again So, that is what it is designed to do? to make you want to get up in the morning and have the energy that you need to get out of bed and get going," Cathy states. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_25.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1049.html

Psoriasis and Heart Attack Risk

There is new evidence that an extremely common skin condition is associated with an elevated risk for heart attack.

We’re talking about psoriasis, which affects about 2 to 3 percent of the adult population.

As if this condition isn't bad enough--bear in mind, it can be extensive and really affect one’s way of life because of the problems with the skin itself.

But now, there's new evidence it is associated with deadly cardiovascular disease. You know, it's sometimes referred to as the heartbreak of psoriasis.
And that couldn’t be farther from the truth, in a literal sense.

New research in the latest Journal of the American Medical Association shows that adults with psoriasis, especially younger individuals, are at an increased risk for heart attack.

Dr. Joel Gelfand, the lead researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, says, "Psoriasis is such a complicated disease; most people that develop the disease earlier in life, in their 20s and 30s, it may be that these folks are the ones who may have the highest risk of developing uh heart attacks related to psoriasis if their disease is severe, as opposed to people who develop psoriasis later on in life. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_555.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1007.html

Update on New IBS Treatment

There may be a new answer for a very common gastrointestinal disorder called irritable bowel syndrome.

The answer: an antibiotic.

A new study just released shows perhaps treating bacterial overgrowth of the intestines with an antibiotic might help.

Kim Williams has suffered tremendously from irritable bowel syndrome--a disease that doesn't kill, it doesn't cause life-changing disability--except for making one a slave to his or her bathroom.

"I've had days while having I.B.S. that I couldn't go to work or I couldn't go to school because i didn't know if I could make it to my destination because I didn't know if I could find a bathroom," says Kim.

Irritable bowel syndrome is characterized by abdominal pain and bloating associated with diarrhea, constipation, or these two alternating.

These patients often feel better after going to the bathroom.
Now, the actual cause of irritable bowel syndrome is still truly unknown.

It's believed there is altered motility of the intestines, and that these patients are just much more sensitive to contractions.

But there is a relatively new concept out there…that bacterial overgrowth of the small intestines might contribute to the problem. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_352.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1011.html

A Study on Semen Allergies

Many of us suffer from allergies, even this time of year when the weather is getting cold. But here’s an allergy that can be a year round allergy: one to your husband!

In theory you can be allergic to anything that is foreign to your body.

But parents, take caution: this allergy that women can get in response to a man is one caused by sex.

Now, here’s an excuse to break up with someone… you’'re allergic to them! “Allergic to another person?,” says Aileen. “Uh, I suppose it is possible.”

Yes, according to new research, sex can cause a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.

The problem: semen allergy.

Dr. David Resnick, the Director of the Allergy Division, NY Presbyterian Hospital, says, “The local symptoms are burning, itching, discomfort after intercourse, usually a short period of time, usually a few minutes or up to an hour, or someone can have a generalized reaction where they can have coughing, shortness of breathe, hives, rhinorrhea, and it can be very uncomfortable.”

Semen allergy is particularly suspected if symptoms go away with condom use or abstinence.

The researchers say it’ **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_87.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1025.html

Isn’'t it great when medical research validates our vices?

Like, the research recently released that dark chocolate is good for the cardiovascular system and the brain.

Well, more good news tonight for women: eating ice cream could actually help improve one’s fertility!

Before you get all excited, this may be too good to be true.
It’s possible the findings are correct, but there are confusing messages here: the main one--forget low fat dairy foods, and instead, eat at least one serving a day of high fat dairy products, preferably----ice cream.

The latest research in the journal human production actually says that intake of high fat dairy foods may decrease one’s risk of a type of infertility called anovulatory infertility.

Dr. Jennifer Wu, an OB-GYN at Lenox Hill Hospital, says, “They are patients that don’t ovulate every month so they have trouble getting pregnant because they’re not releasing the egg in a timely fashion. Anovulatory infertility can be caused by many factors; patients can have problems with their hormones, problems with their thyroid. Often time’s patients at the extremes of weight, extremely underweight or extremely overweight will have problems with ovulation.” **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_29.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1123.html

A Study on Better Migraine Treatment

If your migraine treatment isn’t providing the benefit you had hoped, new research shows an easy way to boost its effectiveness.

This latest study in the Journal of the American Medical Association looked specifically at the group of medicines called triptans, and focused on perhaps the best known, imitrex.

It found patients could get more relief by adding to imitrex a common over the counter medicine.

Four years ago, Amy Lapa- Stochel started to get a migraine more frequently than every other day. She uses several medicines, including imitrex.

Amy says, “In the past when I just took the imitrex alone the headache would just rebound; your headache would go away for a little bit and then come back.”

Many patients like Amy don’t get adequate relief.
There are several potential reasons.

Dr. Larry Newman, Director of the Headache Institute at Roosevelt Hospital Center, says, “Part of the reason may be on the wrong dose, another reason they are on the correct dose but take the medication too late during the attack and another reason is that the drugs as good as they are they don’t address all of the features of migraine.” **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_25.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1147.html

A Study on Restless Legs and Blood Pressure

Restless legs syndrome is an odd, yet common disorder that causes people to continually move their legs, especially at night when they're trying to fall asleep.

As if that wasn't bad enough, now there's new research that shows it may increase one's blood pressure and overall risk for cardiovascular disease.

This is a neurological problem, sort of in the same family as Parkinson's.

But this latest research does indeed suggest a spill-over effect on the cardiovascular system.

Helen Catlin is a nurse who can tell you first hand what being a patient with restless legs syndrome is like.

Patients with RLS may report an almost irresistible urge to move the legs.

The sensations usually are worse during inactivity.

It would bother me at night, sometimes I would have trouble going to sleep or sometimes it would wake me up at night, it would be a sensation of not pain, but enough discomfort that you would have to move, an ache a real ache that would only be relieved by moving your legs, says Helen. As it progressed I realized I was waking up because my legs were bothering me. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_29.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1151.html

Alternative to Knee Replacement

For 25 years Robert Reid kept active by practicing karate, playing football, softball, and basketball. But, his love for sports took a toll on his body. Robert developed arthritis in his knees and would need surgery.

“The knee pain was tremendous, you always have that constant, constant ache that throbbing. I actually got to the point I was probably popping Advil’s like M&M’s,” recalls Robert.

To alleviate Robert’s pain doctors performed a partial knee resurfacing.
“A knee has 3 separate compartments, and when only one part of the knee is diseased we have the opportunity to just replace that part of the knee; and instead of fully replacing it, I’m able to simply resurface the end of the bone with metal on one side and a high density medical plastic on the other side and leave the rest of the knee completely intact and leave all the ligaments and the rest of the person’s feeling of their knee as if it was their old knee,” explains orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_38.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1118.html

A Study on Kids and Concussions

11 year old David Gill has had a hockey stick in his hand since he was only 5 years old. Being on the ice is his passion. But, three months ago, David got a concussion during a game and was knocked out. " I felt nauseous and I didn't really know what had happened, I was real dizzy, " says David.

While there are some physical symptoms such as headaches, nausea, dizziness and blurred vision, concussions usually don't cause bleeding or swelling in the brain and don't show up on x-rays. In an effort to diagnose his concussion, doctors used the ImPACT test, a computer program which measures attention span and memory.

" A concussion can be categorized as a transient loss of neurological function. You don't necessarily need to lose consciousness. Actually in most mild concussions in sports you don't lose consciousness, " reports brain injury specialist, Dr. John Knightly of Overlook Hospital.

"ImPACT" is a twenty minute computerized battery of tests that operates like a video game -- giving your brain a "physical," generating responses that are critical in helping to better identify the severity and recovery from the injury. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_30.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1162.html

Latest on Cosmetic Foot Surgery

Womenâ€'s obsessions with shoes are an enigma. And a foot is hardly an after thought--especially when it comes to high fashion.

And thatâ€'s why women who arenâ€'t happy their pedal appearance, are doing anything to put their best foot forward.A big trend these days is cosmetic foot surgery--being done in the name of Jimmy Choo. The focus---feet.The fetish: fashion.

Working in corporate American you have to be trendy and where the latest style shoes, so Iâ€'m a very, Iâ€'m very interested in shoes, I love shoes, I love shoe stores and Iâ€'m always shopping on line for shoes.” Charlene strachan couldnâ€'t fit into the shoes she liked and had a lot of pain. It was part cosmetic and part health issues, partly because of the pain.”

Podiatrist dr. Oliver Zongâ€'s patients are like Charlene, mostly 18 to 40. The bulk of the patients are having surgeries like foot narrowing or toe shortening, so they are able to better fit inside of their shoes.”

Shoes that arenâ€'t exactly in the natural shape of a womanâ€'s foot.

But they look good!

A narrowing procedure would involve working on both sides of the foot. **End Summary** Topics: doctor directory local doctors medical encyclopedia national database case studies medical animations
About the Author:
To find more relatd articles please visit www.empowereddoctor.com/specialty_742.html and www.empowereddoctor.com/story_1032.html
