Hotels in Essex

In terms of sheer diversity, character and concentration of quality hotels, few counties in Britain can compete with the cosmopolitan county of Essex.

From top notch city centre accommodation and popular international hotel chains, to independently run boutique hotels and character, country style establishments, Essex can certainly deliver where all types of hotel accommodation are concerned.

All Year Round Deals
Whether you’re visiting the area on business or for pleasure, or simply searching for a value for money base from which to explore the sights of Essex, or London and the regions, you’re bound to be impressed by the wide range of excellent hotels in Essex which, incidentally, offer great all-year-round deals.

Recent Developments in the Hotel Industry Grading System
Until fairly recently, knowing what to expect in terms of facilities, services, quality and value for money when choosing an hotel could often prove a bit of a hit and miss affair for even the most experienced of travellers and regular hotel users, in the UK.

With various official hotel rating systems in existence, all using slightly different independent assessment criteria and a range of symbols for rating hotel accommodation, it’s fair to say that, previously, confusion was rife. **End Summary** Topics: Hotels in Essex Essex Hotels Hotels Essex in
About the Author:
For more information and resources on the county of Essex and to view this article in its original format please visit the Essex Tourist Guide .

Motor Breakdown Insurance

Long gone are the days when if you wanted to safeguard yourself against the inconvenience of being stranded, either in the event of being involved in a road traffic accident or should your vehicle happen to breakdown, you only had the choice of a few well known, established motoring clubs offering Motor Breakdown Insurance.

As with Car Insurance, there are now a multitude of Motor Breakdown companies such as the AA, Autonational Rescue, Britannia Rescue, Call Assist, First Call GB Ltd, Green Flag, Mondial Assistance, RAC, Europe Assistance and many more, all offering various levels of cover and competing with each other for your business. The result of this is that there are now some very reasonable prices out there for comprehensive levels of cover and coupled with the fact that the majority of new cars these days are becoming increasing harder to diagnose and repair, is it something you should chance being without?

Should you decide to purchase Motor Breakdown Insurance for your vehicle, you will have to decide whether to choose Vehicle or Personal cover. **End Summary** Topics: Motor Breakdown Insurance Motor Breakdown Insurance
About the Author:
For information and resources on the county of Essex, England, please visit the Essex Tourist Guide .

Visit Saffron Walden

Saffron Walden is a medieval town full of history and owes its success to the past trading of various items such as Saffron and Malt, and the Cattle Market which closed during the 1980’s.

When you visit Saffron Walden, probably the best way to explore the town’s many interesting buildings and tourist attractions is to follow the Saffron Walden Town Trail.

Originally launched on the 4th of November 2007 by the Mayor and Mayoress of Saffron Walden, Councillor Sarfraz Anjum and Mrs Lubana Anjum, the Town Trail starts at the Market Place. Here you will find the popular Town Market, which takes place twice weekly in the Market Square every Tuesday and Saturday, has numerous stalls ranging from fruit and vegetables and plants through to antiques, household goods, jewellery and everything in between. The Market has also just had improvement work completed by the Essex County Council in order to enhance the historic Market Square.

From here the Trail moves on to the Old Sun Inn; a collection of Grade 1 listed homes and shops dating back to the 14th century. The crossroads at which the Inn is located has marvellous timber framed buildings on each of its corners. **End Summary** Topics: Visit Saffron Walden Visit Saffron Walden
About the Author:
Visit Essex Tourist Guide to view this article in its original format and for more information and resources on the county of Essex.

Visit Maldon

Famous for its world renowned Sea Salt and proud holder of the Green Flag award since 2001, Maldon is a town that mixes old and new in an interesting and unique way. Conveniently only a relatively short journey from the hustle and bustle of our capital city, Maldon and its surrounding district offers you the chance to get close to nature in its many green areas open to the public.

Visit Maldon and you will find various activities and areas to amuse children. Opened in 2006 and free to use is the very popular children’s Splash Park. The Splash Park is open all summer, weather permitting of course. Having taken my own children there recently, I can confirm that they had a great time and didn’t want to leave.

Also located in the Promenade Park is a large ornamental lake, amphitheatre, play galleon and fort, aerial runway, model boating, crabbing lake, three sand pits, children’s play area, children’s maze, skateboard and BMX area, a scenic riverside walk, formal gardens, cricket and football pitches, tennis courts and a variety of shops selling food and refreshment. **End Summary** Topics: Visit Maldon Maldon Visit Visit Maldon
About the Author:
Visit Essex Tourist Guide to see this article in its original format and for more information and resources on the county of Essex.

London Olympics Accommodation

A Win-Win Solution
For those of you visiting the London Olympics and Paralympics, in 2012, and looking for somewhere convenient to stay, the county of Essex certainly ticks all the right boxes.

The Savvy Alternative
Let’s face it, all types of London Olympics accommodation are likely to be in very short supply (and expensive!) in the whole of the London area during the Olympics and Paralympics.

So, the county of Essex is the obvious alternative area to stay. For a start, being so close to East London, Essex makes an ideal base for visiting the Games. What’s more, it offers a wide variety of value-for-money, quality accommodation in locations that are surprisingly convenient for visiting all the various Olympic and Paralympic events.

Benefits of Being Essex Based
Visitors to the London Olympics would do well to consider the many benefits of basing themselves in Essex for the duration of the Games. Plus points include: reasonable proximity to event venues (the mounting biking events are actually being held in Essex – so how much more convenient does it get!); excellent transport links (see information below); **End Summary** Topics: London Olympics Accommodation Accommodation London Olympics
About the Author:
Visit the Essex Tourist Guide to view this article in its original format and for more information and resources on the county of Essex.
