Sustainable Learning
If we are all lifelong learning and knowledge and skills up to date and want to keep, then the question of whether we do this in a sustainable manner more relevant and urgent. What is environmental education? How sustainable is an education?

Research
Paquita Perez goes in her inaugural lecture on energy and the environment of regular daytime classes, online education and distance learning. It relies on recent British study into the environmental impact of contact teaching, distance learning and online distance learning writing. These educational systems are compared against each other in five areas: energy use of students own computers, paper use, travel, energy use and study at university and home energy use. Overall, energy use and CO2 emissions in online education a factor 8-9 lower than contact education, distance learning is that when writing a factor 6 to 7.

Urgent Appeal
What do these findings for policy ambitions in the areas of internationalization and lifelong learning? Online education takes a big flight (flown permanently?). Paquita Perez will dwell on an illustrative example and discuss the advantages and disadvantages for students and teachers. **End Summary** Topics: Online university University degree
About the Author:
Mark is an active writer of online education, specially online university degree programs.
The Online Degrees and Students

People from all walks of life are choosing to take online courses for many different reasons. Retirees pick subjects that have always interested them but they never had the chance to study. Soldiers overseas and at home take advantage of military financial aid benefits provided by the U.S. government to pursue online degrees. Business people work toward their degrees in their free time to gain skills that can earn them promotions. Students at brick and mortar universities increasingly take online courses as part of their degree programs.
People choose online degree programs over traditional programs for three main reasons: flexibility, convenience, and financial sense. In most online programs, your work can be completed whenever it is convenient for you, from any location. The programs can be tailored to your own changing timetable and you are not tied down to a rigid class schedule. Online courses may be fiscally smart because students save on the cost of commuting to college campuses several times a week. Those with families may save on child care as well. Also, it is much easier for students to continue working full-time jobs as they pursue their degree. **End Summary** Topics: Online university Online degree
About the Author:
This article has been written and submitted my Mark. Online degree programs are a great boon to many busy people.
