How to Make Money Online in the UK

What if there was a way to make real money online?

How many times have you opted in to receive emails online from a person promising riches beyond your wildest dreams, a lifestyle that even the highest paid stars only dream of, retired at the age of 30, never having to worry about money again, all because he was an affiliate marketer?

The internet is filled with claims like this – in 95% of cases the writer has done this from his basement, because that’s where he lives, trying to lure people into money making schemes which carry no weight and add no value.

As a business owner, I am always looking for business opportunities and the words “look before you leap” always ring true. How many people who invested in property in the past 10 years, wish that they had done more due diligence on the project first. How many were duped by the thought of retirement and a life without worry. How many were presented this information by someone who was going to directly benefit from their investment? **End Summary** Topics: make money online make money working online
About the Author:
A business that offers and education on how to succeed like http://www.havingthebestday.com Also a product set that you can be proud of plus the opportunity to earn a residual stream must appear on your agenda for an online business that works, click this link for a leading example http://www.havingthebestday.com .

Small Business Marketing Strategies - Decide your Future from Your Future

Have you ever rushed head first into a project at break neck speed, only to realise too late that you have made a wrong decision or are heading in a wrong direction? It has happened to us all.

If you ask the experts for small business marketing tips that work, the universal answer that you will get is that to be successful, you must have a plan. i.e Decide what it is you want from the outset. A decision is not a fleeting thought in your mind. It requires clarity, focus, direction meaning and substance.

So, lets begin…

You have an idea for a business and you want to put it into practice. You have completed your marketing research and have identified that there is a niche or market place for your goods.

So you need to differentiate yourself sufficiently from your competition. This can be done consistently and in a sustained fashion by having a solid vision and mission for your business.

Too many decide their future based on their past experience. We say – NO – Decide your future from your future. Your past will bring together your limiting beliefs and fears. **End Summary** Topics: small business marketing tips small business marketing strategies
About the Author:
Derek O'Dwyer is a successful online entrepreneur and business owner.
Small Business Marketing Tips - Take Full Responsibility

Take 100% Responsibility

How many times have you made excuses or how many times have you blamed things on other events or people in your life for the results that you are getting?

Well, STOP it.

If you want to achieve success in your life, then you must be fully responsible for everything that you do, everything that you say and how you react to events.

When we coach our clients, one of the first things that we coach them on is a philosophy called “above and below the line”

People who operate below the line do three things, they make excuses about why things were not done – the usual one is that they were too busy. They blame other people for their inability to complete a task or worse still, the operate in a mode of denial – “it’s not my job”, “no one told me” or “I did not know I had to do that” .

If you are in business and you are busy applying small business marketing strategies to your business, but are not achieving the results, start to look at how you are approaching life and business. **End Summary** Topics: small business marketing tips small business marketing strategies small business success
About the Author:
Focus on operating above the line and see how this impacts your business positively.
Starting a Business: Lean into It

Have you ever watched a game of football where someone got injured in a tackle. Have you every heard the commentary saying that the individual got injured because he had not fully committed to the tackle? The same is true in business.

In this article, we will discuss the importance of getting stuck into your tasks in your business.

Another analogy… When an airplane takes off, it operates on full throttle down the run way because it knows that it has to reach a certain speed, at a certain throttle within a defined period of time. Otherwise we all know what would happen.

Once the airplane takes off, does the Captain immediately ease off? Of course not. He keeps it on full throttle until he has reached an altitude where the flying is easier.

How applicable is that to your business. We see it first hand every day, businesses starting up with great gusto and fan fare, only to crash and burn, or struggle, take off again and then struggle in a peak trough type of formation.

It’s because they did not fully lean into their business. They did not commit for long enough and they ease off too soon. **End Summary** Topics: starting a business start a business business success mindset success
About the Author:
Would you consider a systemized approach?

If your goal in life to be happy & successful, then there is a fair chance that you have a mental picture in your mind about what exactly Happy and Successful are? No . I thought not – And that’s where so many people struggle.

For most people, they want financial security, health, happy family etc but they have not defined what each of these things mean for them. Ie What does finacial security look like? What does a happy family look like?

In your business you will be on the receiving end of many business tips. One of the most powerful, long term tips that you can exercise is to follow a process called IVVM. IVVM stands for Idealization, Visualization, Verbalization and Materialization.

Even in a tough economy where everyone is suffering from myopia, it is important for every business owner, be they offline or online or working in a huge corporation or working from their garage to dram, visualize and make things happen. The seeds of recovery will be sown among the business owners and they will accelerate any recovery.

I met a client a few years ago in March 2004. **End Summary** Topics: opening a business IVVM starting up a business starting a home business starting a new business money online
About the Author:
Will you have what it takes to apply the IVVM process?

For Small Business Marketing Tips to Work You Need to Believe

We often get asked for small business marketing tips that work. We often explain or distribute tips to our clients at will. Yet some of the clients succeed and some of them fail – with the same strategy in the same market place.

Over the past few years, we have taken a number of clients to marketing strategy seminars and personal growth seminars where they hear from experts in their field.

On one particular occasion, I was attending Tony Robbin’s Unleash The Power Within weekend seminar in London with a group of sceptical business clients of mine – I had attended previously and knew what to expect.

Over the course of a few days, I experience massive transformation in each client. They began to understand that believing in yourself is an attitude and that your attitude determines your altitude in life.

They started to look at themselves and began to understand their limiting beliefs and how these limiting beliefs had held them back. Tony also speaks about your environment because a lot of your beliefs are moulded by the environment that you reside in. **End Summary** Topics: small business marketing tips small business marketing strategies
About the Author:
Derek O'Dwyer is a successful online entrepreneur and business owner.
Small Business Marketing Tips - Be Clear on Why You are Here

There are 1000’s of small business marketing tips and strategies in existence today. Most of them work, but some work better for some people. Why is this the case?

Coaching business owners for the last 10 years has led me to believe that a key ingredient in the success of any business is linked back to the reasons that the business owner has for being there in the first place. i.e. what is their “Why”.

A question that I ask to each and every business owners is:

“If you had unlimited time and money, what would you do”. Very few are able to answer this because they are so caught up in their daily lives, fire fighting and dealing with the daily challenges that life presents to them. Failing to give this daily struggle meaning leads to burnout.

If you are operating a business and are looking for small business marketing strategies that work, take a breather for 5 and start to prepare your own life strategy. Why are you doing what you are doing? What will it be like when you are finished? What will you do then? What will life look like for you then? **End Summary** Topics: small business marketing tips small business marketing strategies small business tips
About the Author:
For small business marketing strategies to work, the clear “why” is a must.

Using the Success Principles by Jack Canfield

Applying the learning that we get from reading books certainly helps to keep us focussed on the contents of the book and not focussing on getting to the end of the book. Apply that same rational to business – Focus on your journey, your plan and you will get to your destination.

Over the next few weeks we will be applying the learning that we get from The Success Principles to people who are attempting to make money on the internet.

I first read The Success Principles in 2005. As I read the book, I found myself having lots of “aha” moments or blinding flashes of the obvious as we like to call them.

The book follows a similar pattern to other self development books in that it understands that to be successful, you must focus on being successful.

When we coach clients on a daily basis, whether it is a client who wants to make money on the internet or one who has a bricks and mortar business, the training follow a similar pattern.

We must first understand how they are programmed, what their core beliefs and values are and also who they think they are themselves. **End Summary** Topics: jack canfield the success principles
About the Author:
Derek O'Dwyer is a successful online entrepreneur and business owner.
Business Start Up: Take Action

Take Massive Action. Massive Action = Massive Results. We can thank Tony Robbins for that phrase but it does work.

One of the best small business tips that I received when I purchased my franchise 8 years ago was that Marketing was all about Maths. Put simply, if you knew how to generate enquiries for your business and you knew how much each enquiry cost, then how then could you not be successful? As long as there was a genuine appetite for your business of course.

Working with business owners, we are astounded by the careless approach to marketing. The philosophy is that of you throw enough mud at the wall, some of it will stick.

Yes it will. But at what price? And are you willing to go down this path? This is the school of trial and error and the university of hard knocks. IF your business requires new customers or clients every month, then you will need to brush up on your marketing. And that’s why we say Take Action. **End Summary** Topics: tony robbins starting a new business starting a business sales success small business marketing tips best internet business business start up
About the Author:
How disciplined are you right now?
Effective Goal Setting when Starting a New Business

If you were to act on all the small business strategies that you received when you started your business, where would you be today apart from being confused and paralysed by too much information?

As the saying goes “if you do not know where you are going – any road will do”.

Never underestimate the importance of setting goals, note the benefits to be had for you and your team.

The vast majority of business owners set no goals for themselves or their team. This may or may not surprise you.

We are reviewing the Success Principles and we are applying them to business. Every day we work with business owners, helping them to set and achieve goals for themselves. Very few have set goals and most meander along from day to day. Alot spend their time firefighting doing the urgent not important tasks.

The reasons given for not setting goals are:

They do not see the point They do not have the time No relevance to what they are doing Too busy for that mumbo jumbo Tried it before and it does not work. There is not instant gratification with goal setting i.e. there is no immediate result. **End Summary** Topics: starting a new business starting a business best internet business business start up opening a business goal setting goal setting tips
About the Author:
Do you have focus and know where you are going?

If you are one of those people who want to start a business or who have already started a new business, then you will most definitely have suffered from a sense of overwhelm. This in itself is not a bad thing but it can leave you feeling paralysed.

So where exactly should you start in any business, project, role or job. With so many good willed people offering every small business tip under the sun, it can be a challenge.

Start with the end in mind. Visualise where you want to be and work backwards.

If you start your project with a clear idea of what you want from it – or even a business for that matter and then begin the process of working backwards, its probably the easiest way.

Lets take an example of a small business owner starting out full of good intentions.

Question 1 – Can you describe what you want your business to look like in 5 years time. Allow yourself to think big, to dream etc.

Question 2 – Can you describe what your business will look like in 3 years from now i.e turnover, team, your role, main line of business. **End Summary** Topics: starting a business start a business business success mindset success starting a new business starting an online business
About the Author:
What choices do you make?

If you are planning to start your own business or if you have already done so – remember this. People have been where you are before. They have made mistakes before. They have learnt lessons from these mistakes. They have documented their errors and the way that they corrected them.

You do not have to learn from your mistakes – It’s a bad piece of advice and it is the quickest way to go broke.

Plus there is no need to follow this strategy now, information is so very accessible.

Mirror the successful people. Speak to successful people and ask them what they do. I purchased a franchise 8 years ago and still work in this franchise today. I purchased it because it was a model for success. In our training we were told a few simple marketing techniques and we were told not to tinker with the system because the system worked. Those of us who did not tinker were successful, those that tinkered fared less well.

We see it every day in business. Keep an open mind and learn from people who have already been where you are. **End Summary** Topics: starting a new business small business marketing tips opening a business
About the Author:
When will you make the move from security to freedom?

When you started out in business, how many people offered you small business strategies & tips that you ignored? How many of them did you ignore because you felt they did not have your best interests at heart?

Too often, people fail to make decisions and fail to take action because they fear that their situation will turn out worse.

Become Inverse Paranoid.

It’s important that you take the bull by the horns and get a grip on your life and your business.

Point number 1. People are not thinking about you as much as you think they are – they are thinking about themselves

Point number 2 – people do not care as much about you as you think they do – they care about themselves.

Point number 3 – On average about 10 people will really mourn at a funeral – so understand that you must make decisions for you and for the people that you live with.

Point 4 – You have handled everything that life has thrown at you so far – and you will continue to do as much. **End Summary** Topics: starting a new business starting a business best internet business business start up opening a business
About the Author:
Are you prepared to expect people to be happy for your success?

Reject Rejection Now and Guarantee Your Success

Fear of Rejection is one of the most debilitating diseases that exists in the world today.

It stops people making progress, it stops relationships developing. It stops innovation, it stops people from borrowing, it stops people from advancing in their careers and it stops parents being stricter on their children.

The funny thing is that each and every one of the above scenarios leads to a better life, a more fulfilling life and in some instances a more challenging one.

The comfort zone.

The comfort zone is a dangerous place to exist and stay because it can cause fear to build and the greatest fear that it nourishes is loss. If I do that I might lose what I already have, so I will not do that. If you operate out of your comfort zone at some point during your day your life will be better for it.

Relate all this back to sales. Sales people do not “put themselves out there” enough because they cannot handle the rejection in their own minds.

Picture this scenario. I train as a business coach. I invest in myself and set about a life long plan of self development. My message is clear. **End Summary** Topics: sales success small business marketing tips best internet business mindset
About the Author:
Now that's worth repeating: Replace the NO with "Not Right Now" and then say "Next".
A common error of judgement among new business owners starting out is the understanding about what it really takes to be successful in business.

As small business marketing tips go, this ranks right up there. When you start off in business, certain sacrifices will have to be made when compared to a nine to five job that you just left as follows:

You may be required to spend more time in the business You may be required to bring work home with you You may not be able to switch off from your business when you get home You may have to decline invitations from friends and family to socialise You may have to give up membership at certain clubs You may have to miss out on some other social activities You may have to cut down on alcohol You may have to cut down on TV This is just a sample and please understand this. We work with all clients to ensure that they get this back or at least have the choice to do more of what they want to do. Yet for many, this is their reality. **End Summary** Topics: sales success small business marketing tips best internet business mindset
About the Author:
Derek O'Dwyer is a successful online entrepreneur and business owner.
If you ever heard the phrase “fake it till you make it”, then you will be familiar with the contents of this article. The problem with “fake it till you make it” is that is assumes a certain level of dishonesty or falseness.

We beg to differ on this…

If you are in business, either an online business or a traditional bricks and mortar business, then you will be fully aware of the importance of your brand, or how you position yourself in your market place.

Therefore is it not true that on the day you open your business:

Everything will look really good You will be very well presented and so will your team. You will get lots of best wishes to your good fortune from suppliers and customers. You will speak confidently about your business and you will assume an air of authority on your product or service. Why is that? You have not sold anything yet. You are borrowed up to your eyes and you have very little cash flow left? You have not paid any supplier yet and you are hoping that they will be kind to you. **End Summary** Topics: starting up a business opening a business starting a small business starting a home business success mindset
About the Author:
Have you the desire and discipline to be truly successful?

There is a high probability that you have read the book by Susan Jeffers “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway”. It’s a great book and well worth the read. Don’t be afraid!

If we relate the book to business, we see it first hand how people have not made decisions about their business that has ultimately cost them their business.

While not exactly a small business marketing tip, it is still important that when faced with fear in your business, that you make a decision quickly.

Procrastinators lose in business not because the delay making decision but because they end up not making a decision at all.

The primary reason for not making any decision is that they are fearful of the outcome and they would rather continue on the current path – even if the current path is losing them money.

So what exactly is fear – We call is False Expectations Appearing Real. I like to think that most people have handled everything that life has thrown at them so far, and in many cases they would have had very little control over much of it. **End Summary** Topics: susan jeffers small business marketing strategies feel the fear and do it anyway success mindset
About the Author:
Would you like to be able to manage your fear in a more positive way?

Feedback is the Breakfast of Champions

One key ingredient of a success persons diet is feedback. How many times have you been given feedback? How many times have you reacted angrily to this feedback? How dare they say that! Sound familiar? On reflection, how many times has the feedback been constructive and had you chosen to act upon it, would have made you a better person...

We must use feedback as a tool to improve ourselves.

I visited a client this week and he explained how one of his interns had complained to him that another senior member of staff was constantly criticising him and picking on him. Now there could have been a number of scenarios here.

It transpired that the intern was a straight A student but he had a very poor work ethic. He felt that the internship was a nuisance and that he was automatically overqualified because of his intellectual ability. While I understood his thinking it was disappointing to see a 21 year old behave in this way.

Event x Response = Outcome

The outcome that was happening in this case was negative primarily because of the way in which he chose to react to the feedback being given. **End Summary** Topics: residual income business best internet business small business marketing tips
About the Author:
Remember it is how we react in a given situation that creates the future.
Small Business Strategy: Commit to Constant and Never Ending Improvement

The Internet and the various modes of monetizing activities on the Internet change at an alarming pace. Back in 1997, it was always understood that Cisco Systems measured its years in quarters, i.e it nearly treated a quarter as a year in terms of pace, change and reactions to the market. And that was in 1997, that was before Google arrived on the scene.

Whatever business you are in there needs to be a commitment to constant and never ending improvement. Without it, things get stale, they become out of date and they generally tend to fall away from prominence. If you have your own business then it is very important that you adopt this principle for your business.

I met a man once you told me that he had achieved what he set out to achieve in his business. He had done that 20 years previously in fact. His goal had been to beat his ex boss in business and the ex boss had gone out of business. That was the last time that he had had a goal in his business.

And his business had not thrived since the day his competitor went under. **End Summary** Topics: business internet business improvement systems success
About the Author:
Commit today to improving your business every day.

Marketing Tips: Keeping Score in Your Business

As a business coach, we place a good deal of emphasis on the results that we help business owners to achieve over a period of time in their business. Every business owner, be they online businesses or offline businesses need to keep track of their numbers and do this in a disciplined way on an ongoing basis.

Most people are concerned with the number of customers that they have or the turnover that they make or the profit that they achieve at the end of the year. Every one also wants to increase each of these figures. But you cannot increase these figures, you have to impact the things that lead to them in the first place. And its these activities that never appear in a set of accounts.

When we work with clients, we automatically implement a regime of Key performance Indicators – a set of guides to help them to tune into the activities required for success in their business. Depending on the type of business, we measure marketing activity, marketing spend and return on this activity.

We measure number of enquiries versus the number of actual sales. **End Summary** Topics: Online Marketing make money online success home business
About the Author:
You would not play a sports game or a game of cards without keeping score.
Career Change in the Pipeline or possibly starting a business?

How many time in the past have you written out a list of things to do? How many times have you completed the list and written the second list the following day? What if there was a better way to ensure that you stay focussed.

2010 marks a new beginning in the way that I work with my clients. It also marks a new beginning in terms of the way that I manage my own business. That ensures congruency.

I have struggled in the past to keep clients focussed on their list of things to do. The reason for this is that they generally became pre-occupied with other events in their daily lives. In other words, they were allowing other people and events to control their lives and there was no over riding discipline to prevent that.

If you are attempting to implement a change, then this exercise will yield good results. Maybe you are changing career, starting a new business or changing direction?

The new way of working is based on the power of Reflection as discussed in The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. **End Summary** Topics: Career Chage UK Career Chage US A change of Career Starting a business New Life
About the Author:
Derek O'Dwyer is a successful online entrepreneuer and business owner.
A focussed mind with help you suceed when starting your own business

If you own a small business and want to give yourself a greater chance of success, then I would suggest that you read a copy of The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson.

In this chapter we refer again to the Penny – The Penny for me is the starting point. Every business idea that has been created or formed in the mind of a business owner – be it an online business or an offline business, it’s the same – it has to start with an idea and from there we are required to build.

If you replace the penny with the analogy of a seed, then you must realise that for the seed to grow, then the seed must be nurtured and fertilised each and every day. And that’s where people fail.

The Penny in the original story eventually turned into over 10 Million Dollars on day 31. That's because it was used and applied each day. Because we are speaking about the cumulative effect, its obvious that 80% of the effort would not have yielded 80% of the purse.

The very same principle applies to business. We must understand what time and effort that we need to invest. **End Summary** Topics: Starting a business Investing in marketing Business Start Up Marketing Business Getting started in Business
About the Author:
visit http://www.aboutderekodwyer.com to find out more about starting your own business, either online or offline.

If you own a small business or are planning on starting a small business, then the teachings of The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson are very relevant for you

Many people in the world get the entrepreneurial seizure at least once in their lives. They want to work for themselves, to enjoy the freedom. They have some money that they can invest. Everyone that they speak to is outwardly supportive. How can they fail to succeed. After all, it is their brilliant idea.

What many people do not realise when starting a business is that it takes time to succeed. What happens many people is that they fail to understand the importance of working on whats important for long enough.

If you consider a small business at the beginning, its similar to an airplane taking off. To actually gain momentum to the point of take off, you need full throttle. Then you take off. At this point in business, many business owners starting their business begin to relax and guess what happens – they crash. **End Summary** Topics: Starting a business Small Business Startup Finance for new business Leading a small business small business off the ground Idea for small business
About the Author:
If you are thinking about starting a small business, then click here for some FREE resources which you can benefit from.

Having read the Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, I understood clearly how it can be applied to so many small businesses here today.

The book draws the conclusion that successful people follow a path of doing the right things in the right manner for the right amount of time. Only by examining, assessing and making slight changes to your approach will you ensure that you have this sorted.

When coaching small businesses, we look for ways in which the business can be improved over a certain number of days. We analyse every aspect of the business from the moment the doors are open to when the last customer leaves at night. Everything pertaining to Time, team and Money is examined at length. Every aspect of the business is broken down into its component parts. We are looking for the weakest links.

What we are looking for are areas where the introduction of small changes could have a sustained defined benefit for the business. **End Summary** Topics: Starting a business Business Start Up Training for new business New business idea getting started with new business help getting started with business
About the Author:
Click here to give your business a bette r chance of success.
Starting a business can be a very daunting challenge. Very often we tend to focus on what we know best rather than what absolutely must get done. And that where things start to go wrong. Have a system to ensure that you complete all tasks every day - even the easy ones.

It also revealed to me the reasons why so many people become frustrated with change and why so many of them revert to form.

The Secret of Easy things is a somewhat misleading title to the second chapter of the book. My understanding of this was that for things to change on a grand scale for people, either in business or on a personal level, small easy actions can be taken each and every day.

If you want to change any aspect of your life or business, it does not require an initial massive piece of action. It may only require a small change or even simpler still, it may just require a decision.

Today, more than ever though, people seem to be caught in a state of apathy or fear, unable to make even the smallest change? **End Summary** Topics: Starting a business Investing in marketing Business Start Up Marketing Business Getting started in Business
About the Author:
click here to find more ways in which you can ensure the success of your small business venture before you lose any money.
