Gas Rebate Credit Card: How Customer Loyalty Rebates Work

When you think of gas rebates, you most likely think of a gas rebate credit card. That is not the only type of rebate you can get. There is a relatively new type of gas rebate that is a customer loyalty gas rebate. Customer loyalty rebates are different than rebate credit cards in two respects.

First and foremost, there is no credit card involved. That means that you don't have to get a new card. No credit checks, no worries about being denied and you don't have to add to your debt to participate in the program. There is no debt incurred under the customer loyalty rebate program.

The second difference is that the customer loyalty cash back reward pays you a lot more that any gas rebate credit card. Most credit card programs pay anywhere from 1 to 8 percent rewards on your gas purchases. The higher amounts are usually only for a few introductory months. The customer loyalty reward pays much more.

Depending on how much gas you purchase in an average month the customer loyalty reward will pay anywhere from 20 to 25 percent. **End Summary** Topics: Gas Rebate Credit Card cash back rewards credit card cash back credit card gas gas rebate cash back
About the Author:
Scott Siegel author of Beat The Gas Pump 143 pages about saving gas and money at the pump.
Gas Rebate Credit Cards: Think Again Before You Get One

Gas rebate credit cards are a great thing right? After all, you get a discount on something you have to buy. Everyone needs to buy gas so why not get a discount on it?

This is the way most people look at gas rebate credit cards. Buying gas is a necessary evil so why not get something back for doing it. This logic make sense on the surface but if you look deeper into what it means to get a gas rebate credit card you may find out it is not an advantage to you at all. In fact, this type of card could be quite a disadvantage.

Let's start with the basic problem. This is a credit card. That means that you have to use it to get any benefit from it. Using the card means incurring debt. If you are in a financial position that you can absolutely without fail pay off the card in its entirety every single month then and only then does it make sense to consider getting this type of card.

For most of us, paying off all of our card debt each month is not a viable possibility. **End Summary** Topics: gas rebate credit card cash back rewards credit card cash back credit card gas gas rebate cash back
About the Author:
Scott Siegel author of Beat The Gas Pump 143 pages about saving gas and money at the pump.
Gas Rebate Credit Cards Beaten By Customer Loyalty Rebates

When you think of gas rebates, you probably think of gas rebate credit cards. Those are the credit cards that pay you anywhere from 1% to 5% against your gas purchases. What many people don't know is that there may be a much better alternative that can pay you back for gas faster, simpler and bigger.

The alternative is called customer loyalty rebates. Those programs are designed to reward customers for using only one brand or one company. The cash back for gas program is this type. The premise is that companies want to create brand loyalty and they will give up some of their profits to get it.

There are a number of reasons you could find customer loyalty rebates more advantageous to you than a rebate card. The biggest advantage is they tend to pay more. An average driver will spend about $1500 on fuel during a year. That will result in an average reward of about $60 in a 4% rebate program.

Contrast that to the most popular customer loyalty program which pays $300 cash back for gas purchases for a year. **End Summary** Topics: gas rebate credit card cash back rewards credit card cash back credit card gas gas rebate cash back
About the Author:
Scott Siegel author of Beat The Gas Pump 143 pages about saving gas and money at the pump.
Gas Rebate Credit Cards May Not Be The Best For Reducing Your Gas Costs

Gas rebate credit cards are presented to you with the promise of getting money back for purchases you make at gas stations. Typically they offer larger rewards at the beginning to entice you to apply for the card but you soon find out that the larger rewards are usually only for a short time.

After the initial period those cards offer much smaller rewards. Your 5 or 6 percent rate goes down to 1 or 2 percent. Even at that, you may say to yourself, something back is better than nothing. That may not be true.

If you are a typical driver, you drive a car that gets around 25 miles per gallon fuel economy. You drive about 15,000 miles per year and consequently you use about 600 gallons of fuel per year.

Your annual fuel cost is around $1,500 dollars per year depending on the fuel cost but at around $2.50 per gallon that's your cost. That number in itself is eye opening, that you spend $1,500 per year on gas. That's for one car. A two car family would spend double.

How much are you getting back as your 5% reward? **End Summary** Topics: gas rebate credit card cash back rewards credit card cash back credit card gas gas rebate cash back
About the Author:
Scott Siegel author of Beat The Gas Pump 143 pages about saving gas and money at the pump.
Improve Your Gas Mileage By Starting To Winterize Now

You can improve your gas mileage by remembering to do some simple maintenance on your car now before winter sets in. Winter is not that far away. The temperatures are beginning to get colder and nights are getting downright chilly. Before you know it the white stuff will be falling and winter will be upon us.

Before that happens, you can start to make some small tweaks with your car that will improve your fuel economy greatly in the winter. There are two things you can start thinking about now, your oil and your tires.

Make sure your oil is the right oil for low temperatures. As temperatures drop it the oil in your car will become thicker. If your oil is too thick it will not be able to lubricate your engine properly. An engine that isn't properly lubricated will use more gas but it will also sustain damage.

Your owners manual should list the correct grade of oil for colder weather. Cold temperatures require an oil that is thinner than oil you would use during warm weather. A multi-grade oil might work just fine if that is what you are using now. **End Summary** Topics: improve gas mileage increase gas mileage improve fuel economy increase fuel economy cash back gas
About the Author:
Scott Siegel author of Beat The Gas Pump 143 pages about saving gas and money at the pump.
Turn A 5% Cash Back Rewards Credit Card Into A 30% Rebate Card

There are many cash back rebate credit cards out there that pay you 5% back (at least for a while) on your gas purchases. There is a way you can turn that 5% card into a 30 percent card by using a simple strategy.

First step is to get a cash back rebate gas card. There are many that you can find. Some are issued by the gas station companies themselves and others are by the big bands. You can find them easily by searching for gas rebate credit card or cash back gas credit card in Google.

As I mentioned you will find two types, those issued by gas companies like Shell or Exxon and those issued by banks or financial companies like Chase or Discover. Usually you will find that the gas company cards will have higher rebate amounts for longer periods than the cards issued by banks.

When you have your cash back or rebate card then it is time to implement the other part of the strategy. The strategy consists of combining two different rebate offers to create a larger one. To do this we will use a customer loyalty rebate. **End Summary** Topics: cash back rewards credit card cash back credit card gas gas rebate cash back
About the Author:
Scott Siegel author of Beat The Gas Pump 143 pages about saving gas and money at the pump.
Are All Gas Cash Back Rewards Created Equal?

There are many gas cash back rewards programs available. All you need to do is to type that search term into Google and you will get thousands of search results. Looking at them can be very overwhelming. How can you find the best one for you? Are they all created equal or are there some big differences between them?

There are three basic types of cash back rewards when it comes to gas rebates. There is the cash back gas reward card that is issued by the usual credit card companies. Those are companies like Chase and BankAmerica. The second type of gas cash back rewards are cards that are issued by or on behalf of the gas companies themselves. The third cash back reward is called a customer loyalty reward. Let's look at the differences.

The first kind of rebate card is a bank card. This card is very much like any other credit card except that it is specifically tied to a program where you will get a certain percent back for all of your gas purchases. **End Summary** Topics: cash back rewards credit card cash back credit card gas gas rebate cash back cash back for gas
About the Author:
Scott Siegel author of Beat The Gas Pump 143 pages about saving gas and money at the pump.
Cash Back Rewards Credit Card Vs Other Rebate Opportunities

Is a cash back rewards credit card the only or the best way to get rebates or cash back for your purchases? That is a question that most people don't consider before adding another credit card to their wallet.

When consumers think of cash back rewards, the first thing they think about is a credit card. This is because the credit card companies have worked very hard to make them top of mind. They spend millions of dollars to convince you that one of the best ways to save money is to use their cash back rewards credit card.

What most people don't know is that there are other ways to get cash back rebates on their purchases. Credit cards are not the only option.

There are cash back rebate offers available in a variety of forms. In many instances if not most, they are a financially healthier alternative to cash back reward credit cards.

The biggest drawback to using a cash back credit card is the fact that you have to create personal debt to use it. By it's nature, a credit card requires you to owe money when you use it. **End Summary** Topics: cash back rewards credit card cash back credit card gas gas rebate cash back
About the Author:
Scott Siegel is the author of a 143 page manual of industry insider information on saving gas and money at the pump (beatthegaspump.com).
