Don't Substitute Visitors for Search Engines

Often when you see a company that has decided to start working on an on page SEO program they tend to end up making a completely different mistake altogether from the one they are warned of. To be specific, they start to forget about the real human visitors that will eventually be coming to their website when they decide to start improving their webpages for the search engines as far as content and technical specs go. In short, they trade the desire for a human's interest for the desire for a bot's interest.

You'll often see the results of this terrible mistake in a few different ways. For instance, you might truly bother people with your writing because it just doesn't flow properly just so that you can fit in a keyword, or maybe you just won't be able to capture the interest of your web site's readers and visitors because you have too much repetitive content that lacks any real personalitity.

Don't make the mistake of allowing the tail to wag the dog. **End Summary** Topics: human visitors search engines seo on page seo onpage seo
About the Author:
Noah Dyer is the COO and Director of Internet Marketing for WealthNet Partners.
Indifference is Costly in Business Marketing

I really enjoy riding pretty much anything that has 2 wheels on it. And, if you can believe it, I love summer time in Arizona. The Sun comes up so early in the morning, and I have the opportunity to get on one of my bikes and ride around doing some thinking. This morning during my ride I had a thought come to me. I tend to experience quite a lot of indifference as far as marketing for small and mid size companies. Having indifference as far as marketing for your company goes tends to be quite costly. I'll show you what I mean with a few examples.

1) Nearly every single company that cares even the slightest about marketing has a website created. However, it seems that most think the mere fact of owning a website is all they need. Business owners need to realize WHY they have their site in the first place. It isn't enough to just have a static online brochure that your clients can take a look at. **End Summary** Topics: business marketing quality site marketing
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Development from WealthNet Partners">business development</a> .
A Lesson in Leverage

A few weeks back I had a meeting with an extremely successful company that was facing a very common problem. They have an in house IT person (just one), and a marketing director as well. Both of them were on payroll earning a very nice salary by the majority of people's standards. The CEO of this company, however, has not been very happy with either of these 2 people's results, and this is having the end result of hurting both the company's top and bottom lines. In order to set up more accountability for each department within the company, the people in charge of management have requested a detailed listing of the scope of responsibilities and planning that every department has. Despite having requested this several weeks prior to my meeting, they continue to wait for these things to be delivered.

I write frequently about how important it is to make sure you have a proper strategic plan in place for all organizations. Actually, I wrote an eBook about it not too long ago. **End Summary** Topics: strategic planning strategic plans business planning
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Development">business development</a> .
The Growing Search for Capital

Working as a consultant for new and upcoming businesses, I often hear, almost every day, really, just how annoying it is to deal with commercial banks nowadays. Just the other week I had a meeting with a business owner whose business is commercial lighting, and they've been building their business and increasing their companies sales for more than twelve years. His company has experienced excellent growth, has fantastic profit trends, an awesome marketing plan for this year, and has a positive cash flow.

In addition to his financials being in such a good place, his marketing and business plan are very well written and quite polished. Sadly, the most annoying thing for him (and a million other business owners), is that he can't get his banker to call him back. He chose a banker and turned in a loan package to him, and this banker won't even give him a simple phone call back. Ever. He is stringing this entrepreneur out and making him ponder whether or not they'll actually come through for him by giving him the line of credit he'll need to execute his marketing plan. **End Summary** Topics: business capital small business capital raising capital
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Development">Business Development</a> .
Raising Money the Right Way

Not too long ago I had a meeting with a fairly new marketing and technology start up company. I met the Chief Financial Officer and the President right off the bat, and I was impressed with how organized they were with sharing what they were about and discussing a way we could potentially work as a team to reach their goal of raising some new capital for their business. Ordinarily this isn't how my meetings go, as much as it saddens me. If you're a business owner and you're out there trying to raise some money for your company, here's a few things you should be thinking about.

1) Make sure you're on time for all of your meetings.

2) Make sure that anyone you meet with signs an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement). Make no exceptions to this rule.

3) Be sure that you've prepared your business model so that you can explain it in as simple terms as you possibly can.

4) Be polite.

5) Be honest with your potential investors. **End Summary** Topics: raising money raise money business capital raising capital
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Marketing">Business Marketing</a> .
Marketing In Your Sleep

All businesses out there should establish their foundation with solid marketing. It should be used and loved by every single employee that works with your business. Proper marketing influences every single part of your business and helps your vendors, customers, suppliers, and lastly, your employees to know that you are serious about your business.

The following are a few important questions you should ask yourself. Are you currently satisfied with the marketing results you've been getting? Are you getting results from your marketing that are measurable? How is your business's brand image perceived? What feelings does your business leave people with when they call or email your company? When people visit your website, what feelings does it cause them to feel? To what degree is your marketing and contact management system automated? Do you base your marketing off of permissions, or do you just go around in your field bugging and pestering potential clients and customers all day long?

Every single one of these questions is extremely important to ask in order to help boost your marketing efforts, and to get more effective results from them. **End Summary** Topics: marketing results marketing system marketing plan
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Development">Business Development</a> .
Business Planning

The very first time I meet an business person, one of the most valuable questions I ask them is, "What would you like to have for your business and for yourself?" And almost every single time the reply I get is, "More revenue, more sales, more profit, and the like."

At this point I tend to ask my potential client if they'll let us look over their business plan. After I ask this I typically get a blank stare and a, "Umm...well, uh...I don't actually have one."

The fact of the matter is that the majority of business owners do have a plan. The issue is that this plan typically is just in their head or written down on a napkin and hidden away inside their desk somewhere. This most certainly does not help them or their business whatsoever.

At WealthNet Partners we help our clients to create 2 different kinds of business plans. The first is a strategic plan. Strategic plans are created for internal use, and they help guide the business in a disciplined and orderly fashion. **End Summary** Topics: business business planning business plan
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Development">Business Development</a> .
When Social Networking Backfires

Not too long ago I received an invitation to join a social network that goes by the name of Naymz. I'd never actually seen or heard about this particular network prior to the invitation (which came from someone I didn't know). I've talked with this person only once before, and I only had a vague understanding of what it is she does professionally, but she asked if I would recommend the work she does. Since I didn't know her or her work all that well, I couldn't recommend either in good conscience, so I wasn't able to acquiesce to her request.

Why, you might ask? Well, when I followed the link she gave me to join Naymz, the very first question I was posed from the site was whether or not I knew this person. Well, as previously stated, I didn't. Another question that came to me was whether or not I would recommend her. Well, again, I don't know her work or her very well, so I couldn't yet recommend either.

Its all a matter of integrity for me. **End Summary** Topics: integrity business integrity business networking social netw
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Marketing">Business Marketing</a> .
Economic News - Don't Allow it to Affect your Mindset

Everyday I make an extremely important choice when it comes to filtering all the info and news that I absorb, and I most definitely suggest that everyone do the exact same thing. After all, the more mainstream media has their job to do, and that job is to get all of us to absorb the news that they create for us. I believe that the majority would definitely side with me in my thinking that the mainstream media wants to sell us all on the sad stories and the impending doom. They don't particularly want us to hear all about the great things that occur in our world's and our country's economy.

That's not to say there isn't bad stuff thats going on out there. There certainly is. And they can definitely affect your business, but if you make the decision not to absorb all of that negative news you're going to have an easier time absorbing the good news. As a result, your mindset will be affected in an excellent way.

As an example, don't listen to the news from the cable guys and the networks. Seen the Headlines from the prominent papers? **End Summary** Topics: business mindset business positive mindset
About the Author:
Clifford Jones is the founder of WealthNet Partners where he focuses on <a href="http://www.wealthnetpartners.com/" title="Business Marketing">Business Marketing</a> .
