A Praxis 1 Testing Lecture About Time Management

I know what you're thinking: a Praxis 1 testing lecture? Who in their right mind would want to put up with yet another lecture about the ETS Praxis 1?

But trust me, this has nothing to do with testing knowledge for the vocabulary section, or how to memorize math formulas in less time. This is a very different type of lecture - one that focuses on a crucial part of passing this exam.

That's right - I'm talking about time management.

You know that in order to pass the Praxis 1, you need to answer a certain number of questions correctly within an allotted period of time. But as a test coach, I've seen too many students focus on getting those correct answers...

...And not enough time focusing on time management itself.

Praxis 1 Time is Not on Your Side

Let's face it: it doesn't matter how smart you are, or how much testing knowledge you've got up your sleeve.

Because if you don't have enough time to apply it all on the exam, then you've got absolutely no chance of passing this notoriously difficult exam. **End Summary** Topics: Praxis 1 test Praxis 1 testing ETS Praxis 1
About the Author:
Get more of the best Praxis 1 Testing that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

FTCE Test Secrets that Every A+ Student Knows

Whether you're one of them or you can't stand them, one thing's for certain: A+ students continually outperform on the FTCE test year after year.

For the rest of my test prep students who don't achieve this pinnacle of success, watching those A+ students master everything can be somewhat annoying. They start to believe that it's something in their DNA that sets them up for success. Or that their brains are secretly the size of basketballs. Or that they were visited by the good-luck fairy at birth, and are destined to live a life of success forevermore.

Sure, some of it seems a bit far-fetched. And I know that the majority of anger that my students direct at a few chosen peers stems from jealousy more than anything else. After all, why are these future certified teachers so successful...

...Even when it seems as though some of them have barely glanced at their FTCE study guides?

I'm always up for a challenge. And when I heard my future teachers grumbling over how John or Susan got yet another perfect score on their practice tests, I knew it was time to do some reconnaissance work. **End Summary** Topics: FTCE test FTCE study guides FTCE test preparation
About the Author:
Want to know what other questions, FTCE Test tips and secrets I discovered during our conversation?

The ETS Praxis Test Jumpstart to Rev Up Your Engines!

To my fellow ETS Praxis test takers - I've got a little surprise in store for you.

As fall quickly approaches to an end and winter begins to creep around the corner, many of us will start to see winter walk hand-in-hand with test preparation season. After all, those certified teaching posts often start appearing towards the end of the school year. And you'll definitely want your teacher certification in hand before then!

But now is not the time to relax and enjoy those last few moments of freedom. Now is the time to step up and take charge of our destinies. It's time to get more assertive about growing and nurturing our test practice into a bona fide passing score.

Given that testing season is more than a few months away, why am I starting to load the pressure on right now?

Well, the answer's simple: because this is the timeframe when teaching experts claim you're most apt to learn everything for the Praxis test.

Your Ideal Praxis Test Preparation Has a Timer

You may find this a bit difficult to believe. **End Summary** Topics: Praxis test preparation Praxis test ETS Praxis test Praxis preparation
About the Author:
Get more of the best Praxis Test Preparation that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

A CSET Test Preparation Recipe for Unbridled Success

When it comes to CSET test preparation, it's no secret that you and your fellow test takers have prepared every nerve in your body for failure.

You don't have to take my word for it. All you have to do is perk up your ears in your next study group...count up how many times your study guides mention it...heck, even test forums are packed with anxious test takers all worried about one thing:

Failing.

Here are just a few examples of what future California teachers are talking about. If you've got a nervous disposition, better look away now - this sight won't be pretty:

*	"I'm pretty sure that I'm going to fail my CSET tests. All I can think about is what I'm going to do with my life if I don't pass these exams. It's so frustrating that my entire future depends on a simple exam!"
*	"All my study group talks about is how amazing it would be to just get the minimum passing score. And you know what? That's all I want from life right now. I don't want a perfect score. Just please, let me get the minimum score! **End Summary** Topics: CSET test preparation CSET preparation CSET tests
About the Author:
Get more of the best CSET Test Preparation that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

A GACE Test Guide to Your Brain and Standardized Testing

Have you ever had one of those GACE test preparation weeks where you felt like there was a theme or lesson attached to it?

For my test prep students and I, this week definitely centered on the brain. Not just how it functions when it comes to storing up test information, formulas and dates, but other things as well. Things like how it responds to GACE testing at certain times of the day. How it responds under test anxiety and pressure.

And here's the big one that took up a huge chunk of this week's class...

...How your brain works to overcome its greatest productivity killers.

The GACE Test Battle For Mental Control

You know exactly what I'm talking about here. They may be different for each and every person, but trust me: when it comes to test practice, there are two forces battling it out for your attention.

One force - which is propelled by your test angel - wants you to focus as much as possible on your study. "Don't go out after class," it whispers in your ear. **End Summary** Topics: GACE test preparation GACE test GACE tests
About the Author:
Get more of the best GACE Test Preparation that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

MCAT Experts Debate the Merits of Testing Intuition

While you've been devoting your time to MCAT practice, a quiet war has been brewing over the MCAT test...

...And as a test-taker, the winner will ultimately have an enormous effect on your score.

On the one hand, you've got your experts who believe that "testing intuition" (that funny feeling you get when you're sure an answer's right) is the greatest ally you can have in the fight for better test prep.

On the other hand, you've got an increasing number of test experts who believe that this "testing intuition" is just another test trap that many students fall for. They argue that testing intuition tends to be foolhardy. Instead, it's the result of falling for one of several traps laid out by tricky test questions.

So who's right, and who's not so right? And when it comes to your MCAT practice, which side should you find yourself on...

...The belief in testing intuition, or the belief in cold-hard logic?

The MCAT Case For Each Side

There's no denying that each side has its own merits. **End Summary** Topics: MCAT MCAT test MCAT practice
About the Author:
Want to know what the most popular MCAT Test traps are - and how you can identify them every time?

The PLACE Test Guide to Programming Yourself for Success

If you're gearing up to take your PLACE test, then chances are that you've encountered plenty of these promises made by several study guides:

*	"Use our PLACE test study guide to prepare for your exam, and you're guaranteed to raise your exam score by at least 80 points!"
*	"Our students do better when they use our test preparation - and now you can be one of them."

These promises might give you hope that you've finally found your ultimate destination for PLACE testing. But as a test coach, I've got a bone to pick with these promises.

In other words, I want to call them out. Call me a bit of a stick-in-the-mud if you'd like, but I find it very hard to believe that a cookie-cutter test study guide can be directly responsible for your test success.

Doesn't it seem grandiose to you? To suggest that by simply reading over a study guide, you'll suddenly be armed with the test preparation knowledge you need to skyrocket your score?

Yeah, I thought so. That's why I want to introduce a new opinion to this debate. **End Summary** Topics: PLACE test PLACE exam PLACE testing
About the Author:
Get more of the best ...

I know what you're thinking right now: the last thing you want to think about during your ASVAB study is your boss.

Whether you work in a part-time job or are juggling a nine-to-five job with a full college course load, turning your mind to think about your work can be a stressful experience. Add a heaping dose of ASVAB practice on top of that, and I don't blame you if you want to turn off the computer, go outside and ignore your study guide for the day.

But before you reach for that power button, hold on for just a second - because I've got some handy advice that you won't want to miss out on.

And yes, it does have a lot to do with your boss. But trust me: after you're done reading this article, you'll have a whole new outlook on how hard your boss has to work.

Why Your Boss is the Best ASVAB Practice Example You've Got

After years of nursing school, countless internships and more tests than you can remember, NCLEX RN preparation might seem like a big pain in the neck.

After all, you've practically spent your entire life gearing up to become a registered nurse. And as it so happens, you feel as though you've got the goods and the skills to make it big in the nursing world.

But I've got a secret to share with you, my friend. Unless you know how to take that confidence and knowledge, and transform it to meet testing requirements, then you can't live out your career dreams as a registered nurse.

It seems unfair, but it's true. And what's worse, the best nursing education that money can buy won't necessarily prepare you for this notoriously difficult exam. In fact, when it comes right down to it, this test needs to be approached as an anomaly in your nursing career.

It's unlike any test you've ever taken before - or will ever take again. That's why you need ideal NCLEX RN preparation that doesn't simply review what you've already learned in nursing school...

...Instead, it prepares you for the exam itself. **End Summary** Topics: NCLEX RN preparation NCLEX NCLEX RN exam
About the Author:
Get more of the best NCLEX RN Preparation advice that'll get you your nursing certification right now!

GRE Study Reveals How We're Worked into a Frenzy

It's official: when it comes to GRE test takers, they're a nation of stressheads.

A recent survey conducted by a herbal remedy brand revealed that of 2,372 test takers, 99% claimed that they felt stressed about their test preparation at least once per day. The study also concluded that of these anxiety sufferers, 35% have missed at least one day's work of work or school due to stress over GRE study.

But for the rest of students preparing to realize their graduate school dreams, this isn't really news at all. In fact, it's a part of everyday life when it comes to GRE practice.

Let's face it: a small amount of stress is expected in any practice schedule. Heck, sometimes it's even good for you! But what is this stress and anxiety doing to our health...

...And what steps can we take to stop it?

Under GRE Study Pressure

Many test takers simply assume that GRE study pressure is part and parcel of the whole experience. After all, it's not like these highly talented students are unused to stress. And let's not forget what life will be like once you've made it into grad school.

Talk about stressed out! **End Summary** Topics: GRE test GRE study GRE practice
About the Author:
Get more information on how to guarantee a killer GRE Test score!

Praxis 2 Test Experts Reveals Tips on How to Let Go

As a Praxis 2 test expert, I'm often asked what's the biggest mistake a test taker can make while they're staring an actual test question in the face.

I'm only happy to oblige these types of questions with an answer - but first, I require that every person must come up with their own answers first. I like to think of it as the Socratic Praxis 2 study method: I won't reveal the answer to you unless you can first come across the answer yourself.

So I sit back and relax as my students attempt to come up with their own answers. And this is just a sampling of what they believe to be the ultimate mistakes to commit on those test dates:

*	"I think that not getting used to sitting in a chair and staring at a computer screen for so long can really drain your testing stamina." (Intriguing, but not the correct answer);
*	"Well, I believe that not understanding how the questions are arranged can bring down your score." (Perhaps, but it's not the biggest mistake ever). **End Summary** Topics: Praxis 2 Praxis 2 study Praxis 2 test
About the Author:
Get more of the best Praxis 2 Test that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

CLEP Test Expert Reveals How to Get Your Mojo Back

As a CLEP test expert, I often encounter the same questions regarding the exam, like:

*	"How can I be sure that my CLEP practice is up to scratch?"
*	"Do you believe that guesstimating really works?"
*	"Are there certain formulas and vocabulary terms that are guaranteed to show up on the exam?"

As I said, the usual suspects.

But every once in awhile, a student approaches me with a concern of a different kind. And that concern often sparks a totally new way of thinking about test prep study. After all, I've been doing this job for several years, and it can often seem like I'm on autopilot.

But after one of my students approached me and asked this simple question, I knew that it was time to address a major concern for all of my prep students.

"How Can I Get My CLEP Test Mojo Back?"

Burnout is often something that many students have to deal with...

...But very few students know how to properly handle it. They simply think that it's a natural part of the whole process. **End Summary** Topics: CLEP CLEP exam CLEP study
About the Author:
Get more of the best CLEP Test that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

If you approach the GRE test with the attitude that it's just not that important...

..If your new favorite hobby is to make fun of the GRE with your friends and study group...

...Or if you spend more time complaining about taking the exam and "wasting" your time on GRE preparation...

...Then you, my friend, are in need of a serious attitude adjustment!

It's sad but it's true: those who waste their time railing against the fact that they have to take the test do worse on the exam than those who don't. It doesn't matter if the former have spent all of their free time on their GRE test preparation, or practically have a second degree in test study.

In fact, as far as testing success is concerned, these factors can actually count against them.

So why is that?

Accept the Inevitable: You're Taking the GRE Test

We've explored one example of a GRE test taker - but what about the other type?
You know who they are.
Praxis Study Guide Secret Revealed For Your Eyes Only!

Ready for a major breakthrough in your Praxis study?

Forget finding King Tut's tomb in the ancient pyramids. Forget about landing on the moon. In fact, forget about the time you discovered that peanut butter and chocolate go hand-in-hand together in almost any cuisine.

What we're about to reveal to you next is so important, it's going to eclipse all of those previous findings. After all, who cares about the pyramids or that PB-and-chocolate sandwich when you've got precious little time to focus on your study guides?

We know that you've got priorities in your life. Places to go. People to see. And most importantly, you've got school and a career that you need to keep on juggling. With so much on your plate, it's no wonder that the last time you cracked open your Praxis study materials, you didn't even know what the word Praxis meant (by the way, it means translating an idea into action).

We're not here to lecture you about all that, because we know it's just another way to waste your precious time. What you need right now is to get up and get started on your study. **End Summary** Topics: Praxis study Praxis
About the Author:
Get more of the best Praxis Study that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

GED Online Practice Helps Conquer Guesstimating Dilemmas

When it comes to the GED test, all test takers have two options: they can opt to take the pencil-and-paper version of the test, or they can choose to take the GED online.

For those who opt to take the pencil-and-paper version of the exam, then they're in good luck. Browse through any study guide, and you'll find a wealth of formulas, hints and theories on how to guess on those tough questions. Most of them follow this formula:

*	"Skip around your GED test until you've answered all of the easier questions."
*	"Go back to the harder questions and eliminate wrong answer choices, then pick the one that makes the most sense."
*	"Take a guess on the questions that seem almost impossible to do."

If you've spent any time with test preparation before, then you know how familiar all of this sounds. In fact, it seems like a perfectly reasonable way to approach your exam, doesn't it?

But there's a major dilemma that has never been addressed in a study guide before - and it's about time that it got exposed once and for all. **End Summary** Topics: GED test GED online GED test online
About the Author:
Get more of the best GED Test that's proven to net you your teaching certification right now!

When it comes to the GMAT test, you may feel as though you've got a pretty good hold on things.

You consider yourself to be the ultimate math whiz kid. And let's not forget those vocabulary questions - in fact, you've got a vocabulary that's so extensive, many of your friends consider you to be a walking dictionary!

Yes, with all of these things considered, you're more than confident that you've got the goods to pass the test and get your best GMAT score ever.

But there's one thing that you're leaving out of this equation. Sit down and consider this for awhile...

...You may be good when it comes to multiple-choice questions, but what happens when the test makers give you the reins?

That's right: we're talking about the analysis section of the GMAT test. And whether you've seen this on your practice test or have barely reviewed the section, this part of the exam has proven to be a major deal-breaker for many otherwise talented students.

And do you know why that is? It's simple: these students don't understand that there's a very specific formula you can apply to your test! **End Summary** Topics: GMAT score GMAT test GMAT preparation
About the Author:
Get more of the best GMAT Test that's proven to help you achieve your career dreams right now!

Take a break from your MAT review for a moment.

Put down that study guide that focuses on acing the Miller Analogies Test.
In fact, I want you to turn off your television, unplug your phone, and give this article your absolute undivided attention. Because when it comes to the MAT exam, it just might be the most important thing you could do for your test score.

Now, I know that your review has primarily focused on finding the important relationships between words. After all, you can't properly answer a question unless you can determine the relationship that connects the two words together. By focusing so much on determining relationship, you figure that you'll be in good standing for acing this test.

But I have a question for you - and it just might change the way you look at your practice test.

What happens when you don't even know what the words mean?

A Tough MAT Review Dilemma

It's a dilemma that's come across many of my students - even my brightest, most adept analogy whiz kids.

Basically, the dilemma can be broken down in this way: if you don't know what the word means, then that's it. **End Summary** Topics: MAT review MAT exam MAT test
About the Author:
To learn more about best MAT Review tips, download this free report right now!

I know what you're thinking right now: if you've already got the MCAT review tools under your belt, then why should you even bother to worry about your study mentality?

After all, if you've got the test materials down pat, then a great attitude and testing confidence will follow in your footsteps...

...Right?

Not necessarily. In fact, as a study coach, I've seen far too many students miss out on the medical school of their dreams because they severely underestimated the power of MCAT mentalities. They too believed that if they focused all of their time and energy on learning the materials, then a confident and positive mentality would simply follow suit.

But in my experience, no student has ever learned the materials like the back of their hands. And when they walk in to the testing center that day trembling with fear and test anxiety, the meager amount of information they do know goes straight out of the window.

Let's face it: when you think of misreading something on the TExES exam, your first thought is of the reading comprehension or verbal section, isn't it?

After all, mathematical questions are pretty straightforward. You're asked to solve an equation. You're given a couple of numbers. You plug in a few of the multiple-choice answer, find the one that fits, and bam - you've completed yet another stellar math question.

But as a full-time test prep coach, let me give you one of the most important pieces of advice you'll ever receive: if this is the mindset that you'll have when walking into your study, then the only thing you'll be guaranteed of is an ultra-low exam score.

Did I throw you off a bit there?

Good. You need to be rattled up before we move to expose one of the most common problems that plague the TExES...

...And if you don't catch it in your practice exams now, then there's very little hope that you'll ever become a certified Texas teacher.

When it comes to your IELTS practice, it may seem as though the hardest section to prepare for is Part Three - the speaking portion.

After all, there are a number of issues that can crop up with your IELTS preparation. What happens if you don't have access to someone who speaks native English? What if you only have access to people with the same level of English-speaking knowledge as you? Can you really expect to make the most of your IELTS practice if you can't find someone to test your conversational skills out on?

If this scenario sounds familiar to you, then don't despair - there are a number of things that you can do to overcome this major obstacle.

And none of them involve tracking down a native English speaker to test your conversational skills!

IELTS Practice Doesn't Have to Be Hard

GMAT Preparation No Test Taker Should Be Without!

As a GMAT test coach, I often get asked about how my students do on this notoriously difficult exam. I'm always happy to answer; after all, if it's not a matter of curiosity, then it's a way to sneakily find out a key piece of GMAT preparation that they themselves should be following.

So if you want to know the most popular question I get asked, I'll be glad to reveal this secret to you. In fact, I hope it helps you to boost your own test score.

I never tired of hearing the question, "What's the biggest mistake that your students make on the test?"

Well, I can guarantee you one thing - it's not what you're thinking.

In fact, whether you're gearing up to take your test online or are taking the traditional paper-and-pencil test, this major mistake is more responsible for a lowered score than any other I've encountered in my career.

GED Test Tips on How to Take Control of Your Practice

What's the main reason as to why GED test takers fear this exam?

Is it because they're nervous to demonstrate their critical thinking skills? Does it have anything to do with having to work out tough math and verbal reasoning problems? Is it due to the fact that the ultimate score they receive on their GED testing determines whether or not they'll receive their high school equivalency degree?

It's none of those things. In fact, when it comes right down to it, test takers fear their preparation and testing because of one reason alone...

...They're not in control.

GED Testing = An Utter Lack of Control

Think of the last time you did well on an exam. Chances are that you did so well because you knew exactly what was going to be on the test. You didn't feel lost or confused; instead, you whipped out your study book, found the section that was going to be tested and focused on that.

But with testing, anything's up for grabs. In fact, it's not just sections or categories of math and verbal reasoning that you'll need to study - you'll need to have years of knowledge and know-how under your belt. **End Summary** Topics: GED test GED testing GED practice
About the Author:
Want the next juicy tip?
