How to Cure Your Drug Addiction Without Entering a Drug Rehab Program

A drug addiction is strongly desiring to take a drug that makes you feel good. For example, snorting cocaine makes you energetic, alert, euphoric, with increased mental clarity. Once you're addicted to a drug, abstaining from it becomes a nightmare. For example, abstaining from cocaine can cause agitation, depression, extreme fatigue, anxiety, angry outbursts, lack of motivation, vomiting, shaking, irritability, muscle pain, and disturbed sleep.

Thorndike's Law of Effect

Simply put, what keeps you addicted is that taking the drug makes you feel good, and avoiding it makes you feel awful. This coincides with Thorndike's Law of Effect: If a reward follows a particular behavior, that behavior probably will be repeated; if a punishment follows a particular behavior, that behavior probably won't be repeated.

For example, feeling good is your reward for snorting cocaine; feeling awful is your punishment for avoiding cocaine. So what are you going to do? This is why it's so difficult to abstain from an addiction.

You have a drug addiction and can't quit. Now what? Don't despair; there's a way out. The trick is seeing your addiction differently - seeing it for what it really is. **End Summary** Topics: thorndike law of effect drug addiction classical conditioning cocaine addiction snorting cocaine
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Failure , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.com

How to Cure Gout Attacks Without Prescription Drugs

Gout is a very painful inflammatory condition of the joints, caused by crystallized uric acid collecting around the affected joint. The most common joint affected is the big toe; however, gout can affect the ankle, instep, heel, knee, spine, elbow, wrist, and finger. In severe cases, gout can deform the affected joint.

People prone to gout tend to have high uric acid levels in their blood. The high uric acid levels may be caused by the kidneys' failure to adequately remove uric acid from the blood.

Uric Acid Level

You say, "Okay, my kidneys aren't working properly. So what can I do to cure my gout?" The answer is you can do a lot.

First of all, certain foods and beverages heighten the body's uric acid level, and certain foods and beverages don't. So if you avoid the foods and beverages that heighten your uric acid level, and partake in the foods and beverages that don't, you will never get a gout attack - thus curing your gout condition!

What are the foods and beverages that heighten the body's uric acid level, causing a gout attack? Meats and seafood promote gout attacks. **End Summary** Topics: high dose of vitamin c high protein food uric acid level red wine gout attack
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Failure , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.com

How to Cure Any Phobia Without Prescription Drugs or Therapy

A phobia is an intense fear that causes you to avoid the feared thing or endure it with unbearable mental pain. Additionally, a phobia is an irrational fear, in that most people either don't fear the same thing that you do or fear it to a much lesser degree. Some examples of common phobias are the fear of public speaking, dating the opposite sex, heights, spiders, closed spaces, crossing bridges or tunnels, going to the dentist, swimming in the ocean, flying in planes, and being in a crowd of people.

Classical Conditioning

One of the most powerful techniques used for curing phobias is called classical conditioning. Simply put, classical conditioning involves pairing a particular feeling with a particular event over and over again until the feeling and event become automatically associated with each other.

Let me give you an example. Let's say that whenever you give a public speech, you feel intense fear. However, you wish to feel intense calm, whenever you give a public speech. How do you accomplish this?

First Step: First you must find something that makes you feel intensely calm - something like two or three shots of whiskey. **End Summary** Topics: mental health problem classical conditioning drinking alcohol diphenhydramine hydrochloride
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Failure , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.com

Scientific Success Explained Mathematically and Physically

Is success some elusive and abstract concept? Or is it mathematical and physical? This article will attempt to explain success mathematically and physically. Then after reading this article, you be the judge. Many people don't associate mathematics and physics with human thoughts, behavior, and life. However, mathematics and physics were created to help us understand reality - including human thoughts, behavior, and life.

The Pythagorean Theorem

The Pythagorean Theorem, a Masonic symbol, teaches Masons to be general lovers of the arts and sciences.

The Pythagorean Theorem states that given a right triangle, the hypotenuse's length squared = a leg's length squared + the other leg's length squared. The legs form an L-shaped 90 degree angle, while the hypotenuse slopes from the top of the L to the tail end of the L.

The Pythagorean Theorem is art, in that it deals with shapes; it is science, in that it is mathematical. Shapely and mathematically, this theorem explains success. Success shapely forms a triangular path: successfully thinking to behaving, behaving to living, and living to thinking. Success mathematically fits the Pythagorean Theorem: successfully thinking to behaving squared + successfully behaving to living squared = successfully living to thinking squared. **End Summary** Topics: law life physics action mathematics success theory thought thinking living pythagorean
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Failure , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.com

Virtuous Thoughts, Behavior, & Outcome

Outcomes come from thought. If the thought is virtuous, the outcome is virtuous. If the thought is vice-filled, the outcome is vice-filled. Outcomes of fine wines and food, beautiful mansions, and sharp suits contrast with outcomes of destructive drugs, dilapidated slums, and dull rags. Though outcomes come from thought, they don't directly come from thought - behavior intermediates.

The Square, a Masonic symbol, means to square your actions by the square of virtue.

To square your actions means to align them. Your actions align to your thoughts. Your thoughts may be virtuous or vice-filled. Thinking virtuously, you behave virtuously; thinking vice-fully, you behave vice-fully. The reason is that thoughts affect behavior.

Virtues and Vices

Virtues and vices can relate to religion. For example, Christian virtues are love, hope, and faith; whereas Christian vices are hate, despair, and doubt. Christians strive to perfect their love, hope, and faith. Love is strong affection for others; hope is positive expectancy; faith is trust in yourself and God. Christians strive to avoid hate, despair, and doubt. Hate is strong antipathy for others; despair is negative expectancy; doubt is distrust in yourself and God. **End Summary** Topics: love beauty life god product trade action hope faith goal hate square thought thinking
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Failure , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.com

The Compass, Beehive, Virtues, & Hourglass

Impulsiveness, laziness, and weaknesses waste time foolishly, wasting human life foolishly. Self-control, industry, and virtues use time wisely, using human life wisely. The world is filled with those living wisely and foolishly, those using time and wasting time, those virtuous and weak, those industrious and lazy, and those self-controlled and impulsive. Hence, the world is filled with successes and failures.

The Compass

The Compass, a Masonic symbol, means to exercise self-restraint and self-control.

To control your destiny, you need to control your behavior. Uncontrolled behavior endangers your destiny. We have heard accounts of people killing others in a fit of rage, people cheating on their spouse in a fit of passion, and people abandoning their goals in a fit of fear. One major slip in self-control can permanently alter your destiny.

Not only does self-control prevent life mistakes, it also accomplishes goals. To accomplish challenging goals, you need to control your behavior by decreasing unnecessary behavior and increasing necessary behavior. For example, instead of watching television, you work on your goal. The more behavior is restricted to a goal, the quicker the goal is accomplished.

The Beehive

The Beehive, a Masonic symbol, means to be industrious. **End Summary** Topics: time work a masonic symbol self control justice change the compass goal success failure
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Failure , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.com

Failure: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt

What causes failure? What is the solution? For years, I asked myself these questions; because I mostly failed. My failure pattern started in childhood. Riding the school bus, students teased and beat me regularly. "Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees . . . ," they rhymed mockingly at me interspersed with punches, slaps, and pokes. Chink and Jap became my names. I dreaded riding that bus. Each bus ride gradually drained my confidence - filling me with fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Hence, the seeds of my failure pattern were sown, reaping hundreds of failures for me. Attempting brevity, I list only some of my failures.

In adolescence, a neighborhood girl Grace infatuated me. Grace and her brothers socialized with me and my brothers. We played kick-ball, board games, and listened to music. My infatuation with Grace obsessively grew. Romance for her intensified; but fear, uncertainty, and doubt eventually abated it. Romance abated, I never told Grace that I liked her. Likewise, for every attractive woman subsequently encountered, continuing until middle adulthood. **End Summary** Topics: college career failure story fear grace success formula process
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Failure , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.com.
The Guaranteed Cure for Severe Public Speaking Anxiety

Public speaking is the most prevalent fear, I heard. And I believe it, because my acquaintances have this fear. However, people do not have the fear to the extent that I had. There were times where I, completely freezing at a scheduled speech, could not perform at all. But usually before this happens, I attempt to cancel the scheduled speech or not show up.

My public speaking fear began in the ninth grade of middle school. I vividly remember the turning point. I spent days preparing for a history class speech. As I sat in the history class, ready to give my speech, a friend seated next to me began teasing me. He laughed, "You look nervous." "Are you sweating?" "You will hyperventilate while giving your speech." "Don't stutter and shake while standing in front of the class." The teasing continued for some time, since others were scheduled to speak before me.

Then the teacher called my name; I walked to the front of the class. I looked at the audience, spotting my friend who was teasing me. He eyed me, smiling. Fear coldly filled me. My hands frozen, I began to breathe rapidly, concentrating difficultly. **End Summary** Topics: public speaking fear speech speeches solution cure
About the Author:
The Guaranteed Cure for Severe Public Speaking Anxiety , an electronic publication, costs just $19.95 and is available through http://www.theguaranteedcure.net.
