A Healthy food store makes a healthy community

Stores tend to influence the communities that they are placed in. This is especially true of health stores, they tend to make the people around them "healthier", imagine that! People are making political and social decisions when they go shopping, and voting with dollars in a sense. They are deciding what kinds of places they will associate, and having a health food store as an option can lead to other overall healthy decisions as well.
A health food store first and foremost offers a community another way to make informed consumer choices. It can gather people from many walks of life around the issues of environment, agriculture, health, social justice and economy. It creates community health on many fronts. It recognizes the value of offering a community food with organic certification, high nutritional value, proven health benefits, and lower levels of processing, as well as foods which are necessary for special diets and produced relatively locally, providing environmental and economic stability.
Health food stores can support holistic health and healers through education and by helping people make connections. People shopping at health food stores make lots of connections. **End Summary** Topics: health food store good health diet dieting
About the Author:
Mac Rush is an expert in several health related areas.
Stop Smoking Using Hypnosis

Old habits are not easy to change. Especially with something as addictive as cigarette smoking. There is a deep psychological connection that we become accustomed to, and breaking it can feel impossible. We find ourselves wishing that we had the willpower to quit, only to fall short in the end. If only there was a way to have a better control over our subconscious mind. Oh wait, there is!
There is a simple process you can use to get the two minds back together. You have to make your subconscious stronger by changing the way it feels about smoking. That way, in weak moments your subconscious will immediately take over with the correct suggestions; and because hypnosis uses positive imagery and not just words, there are no longer thoughts of having given something up; your thoughts instead concentrate on how healthy you feel, or how good a glass of water would be right now, or in general, how good things taste these days. **End Summary** Topics: stop smoking hypnosis smoking information
About the Author:
Mac Rush is an expert in several health related areas.
Stop Smoking Help

Once you decide that you want to quit smoking, you are going to be facing two enemies. The physical attachment to the cigarette itself, and the psychological symptoms which will include everything from mood swings, depression and anxiety, and other psychological cravings. You can defeat these enemies though!
There are a number of therapeutic options available today to help you quit smoking. The most sought after treatments are behavioral and emotional therapy, counseling and medication. Alternative methods like yoga, acupressure and meditation are also becoming popular. Both government and private organizations run these programs.
A useful stop smoking therapy is Nicotine Replacement Therapy, or NRT. It enjoys a high success rate, and the percentage of relapse is quite low. The therapy negates your withdrawal symptoms by regulating your nicotine intake during the treatment period.
NRT products come in the form of nasal sprays, pills, chewing gums and patches. All of them contain a required amount of nicotine, which is released in your body. The dosage is reduced as your dependence on nicotine fades. Since your withdrawal symptoms are closely regulated and monitored, quitting becomes easier. It is, however, advisable to consult a doctor before using NRT. **End Summary** Topics: stop smoking quit smoking good health health
About the Author:
Mac Rush is an expert in several health related areas.
Quit Smoking Psychology

Experts believe that smoking is mostly about psychological addiction, in fact they believe that the breakdown is 90% psychological, and 10% physical! Your body recovers fairly quickly from the nicotine withdrawal symptoms, but the psychological dependency is a long road to beat, and often where people lose the battle. One way to fight this is to do a bit of self-examination before giving up those cigarettes.
Make a list with two columns. Label column one "Why I Started Smoking" and label column two "Why I Want To Quit Smoking."
In column one, list all the reasons you can remember as to why you started smoking in the first place. Was it peer pressure? Rebellion? Did you think it made you look cool? Did it make you feel like a grown-up? Really try to remember the exact reasons why you started smoking and write them all down.
Now look over that list. Do any of those reasons still apply in your life today? Probably not. **End Summary** Topics: smoking psychology psychology quit smoking
About the Author:
Mac Rush is an expert in several health related areas.
So you've decided you want to quit smoking? Did you know that most people fail the first, 2nd, even 3rd time they try to quit? Do you want to follow that pattern? Maybe you have tried to quit before only to smoke again. Preparing yourself mentally can be the difference between quiting and not quiting. Read on to find out more...
Do you really want to quit smoking?
The first question to ask yourself is what are the reasons why you want to quit smoking? If your answer is because someone told you it would be better for your health, it costs too much money, someone else wants you to quit or some other reason along those lines; chances are you probably won't succeed. You have to really want it for you! Make a list of the reasons why YOU want to quit smoking for YOU.
Why do you like to smoke?

Relaxed? Powerful? Important? **End Summary** Topics: smoking mental addiction smoking addiction
About the Author:
Mac Rush is an expert in several health related areas.
Make every day a vacation

We live in a very busy society. People are always rushing from one place to the next, with their plates quite full. Free time seems to have become a thing of the past!
The ironic thing about this is that computers and machines have led to much of our lives being automated, and yet we still find ourselves extremely busy. We have cars to zap us to our next destination, we can even communicate through mail on the internet!
The problem seems to be that because we are capable of doing so much, the expectations are higher. The bar has risen. Our employers, our families and even we have ever-increasing demands on our time. What can be done to draw the line and hold on to a bit of sanity in our lives?
One technique is to take a "vacation" every day. That is not to say go away on a literal trip every day, but rather take a break and do something enjoyable each day. Allot some time each day whether it be thirty minutes or even ten to do something truly enjoyable and satisfying. For some this may mean doing nothing at all. **End Summary** Topics: vacation family vacation relaxing stress relief
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
How to Travel With Kids

Do you remember how much you enjoyed annoying your parents on that long car ride when on vacation? Well now the tables have turned! How does a parent travel with kids?
Traveling with kids does not have to be a bad experience, in fact it can be quite fun! It is important to plan ahead and have some events planned to help keep them occupied!
1. When possible, travel at night and let the kids sleep. But be cautious, because it's easy to get tired. If you find yourself getting sleepy, roll down the windows, play music, or better yet, find a safe place to pull over and take a 20 minute nap.
2. Plan your trip during the day with stops about every 90 minutes. By planning ahead, and using travel planning software, online trip planning sites or travel associations, you can find -- and stop at -- kid-friendly places such as parks with playgrounds, historic monuments or view areas where everyone can get out and walk around for a few minutes. Giving the kids even a 15 minute break will give them a chance to "get the wiggles out" and work off some energy.
3. **End Summary** Topics: travelling with kids kid travel family vacation
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
Traveling by car is becoming less and less common. Perhaps it is the cheaper airfares, or maybe even the feared "Are we there yet" coming repeatedly from the kids. Well traveling in the car does not need to be a chore, it can actually be a lot of fun! Take a few moments to plan ahead and you just might find yourself actually looking forward to the car ride!
Play the alphabet game. Assuming your children are old enough to read or at least recognize letters, this is a great game to keep young travelers occupied. There are a few variations. They must find the alphabet, starting with A – on signs, billboards or license plates. You can make up the rules if you’ll use a combination of sources or just stick to one (it’s harder and takes a lot longer if you limit it to just license plates.) The next big decision you need to make is whether or not the word must start with the letter you’re searching for or if it just has to contain the letter.
How to Find the Perfect Dog Sitter

Leaving your pet behind when going on vacation can be very stressful. Our pets are like our children, we just can't put anyone in charge of their care, we must be very careful!
Might I suggest considering a pet sitter, rather then a kennel. This would allow your pet to be in a nicer environment, possibly even their own house! There may be a loving relative or close friend who would jump at this chance.
But how do you find the perfect pet sitter? Start looking before your next trip and follow these 10 recommendations:
1. Personal Referrals. Ask trusted friends or family members if they can recommend a pet sitter they have used. Word-of-mouth is often the best reference.
2. The Interview. Set up a meeting in your home with each potential pet sitter. Watch how the sitter relates or interacts with your dog. Are they actively involved with the dog or are they distant or restrained around them? Does your dog want the pet sitter’s attention? Don’t second-guess your dog’s reaction (or your own); if they don’t seem engaged, move on.
3. Questions, Questions. **End Summary** Topics: dog sitter vacation without your pet pet sitter kennel
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
Holiday Traveling Tips

The holidays certainly can be stressful, and traveling during a holiday is certainly not fun. The roads are packed, traffic is thick, and everyone is anxious to get to their destination. Traveling is also more expensive. Don't you love it when people take advantage of the holidays like that?!?
I thought I could give you some tips for when you travel this holiday. Hopefully these tips can save you some peace of mind as well as money!
1. If you are flying and have presents to take ship them in advance. They will be there when you arrive and you do not have to mess with taking them on the plane. If you do take them on the plane do not wrap them. With the heightened security at airports they will probably just be unwrapped and checked anyway.
2. Consider renting an apartment or condo for a week. You can find some great deals online and save a considerable amount of money over paying for a hotel. Depending on the size of your family you may want to look into renting a vacation home.
3. Don't eat out anymore than you have to. Eating out is expensive. **End Summary** Topics: holiday traveling tips holiday advice holiday fun
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
Guide to Planning a Great Vacation

Vacation! How we long for that time to come. A chance to escape the hussle and bussle of the crazy working life. It is an opportunity to sit down with our loved ones, or hang out with our friends, and leave our worries behind. There is nothing worse then going on vacation ill prepared, and not enjoying it as much as you could have. This is why it is important to plan ahead!
The first thing you need to do when planning your perfect vacation is to figure out what you want to get out of it. Different people have different ways of relaxing. While one person might revel in a week of non-stop lying on the beach, another might find that idea incredibly boring. Plan a vacation based on what you enjoy doing and not what someone else thinks you should do. Look into the options that you think will help you relax.
Setting a budget for your trip is very important. You simply won’t be able to enjoy any holiday if you are constantly worrying about money. Spending more money than you can afford to on a vacation will only leave you feeling worried and guilty. **End Summary** Topics: planning your vacation family vacation traveling
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
Has your relationship become a bit stale? Looking to spice things up a bit? Have you considered going on a romantic getaway?
That's great to hear! I wanted to offer you some romantic suggestions to get your romance back on track.
You will find a range of suggestions, including some that are quite simple and others that are elaborate:
Make Your Home a Hideaway
I know: you're probably thinking that this won't work, but if you prepare just a little bit, it will be a great success. Schedule your vacation in advance, like if you were leaving home, unplug your phones, and let your friends and family know you are on vacation.

One Powerful Hour: Taking a vacation every day

"My life would be so much easier if I had just a few more hours in a day". How many times have you heard that statement? I know that I myself, have been guilty of saying it!
The truth is that we don't always make the best use of the time that we do have. Rather then wishing we had another hour in the day, how about trying to make better use of the time that we do have?
Let's break up these 24 hours into the 3 generally accepted categories:
8 hours sleep
8 hours work
8 hours 'free' time
When was the last time you actually slept 8 hours, or used 8 hours 'free' time with your family and friends, or made a start on that new book you bought or course you've been promising yourself for so long?
"There's just not enough time! I have to work all day and then when I get home I'm just so tired. I eat dinner with my family then I 'relax' in front of the TV." (Here you can easily catch up with those 8 hours!). **End Summary** Topics: vacation stress relief relaxing
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
Video Games Influence on Culture

We now finally live in a world where stuff from the 80's is actually considered "cool". How did this happen?
I remember being a kid and obsessing over the next trip to the local arcade, just to give pac-man another go. It is absolutely amazing to see how video games are now a part of our culture. They aren't just for kiddies anymore folks! You see, as we grew up, so did the video games...
These teens are now adults looking back with a hint of nostalgia at their youth, despite the fact that it was only 15-20 years ago. But technology changes quickly and so these icons of the 80's are now being featured in art galleries like Gallery Nineteen Eighty Eight in Hollywood.
The gallery features pieces that take a contemporary look at video games and is possibly helping to create a new genre in the field.
A painting depicting Pac Man as over-the-hill and on a drip of pellets went for $3000 according to a Reuters press release.
The artist, Greg Simkins, claimed he started out by painting graffiti in back alleys before working with canvas. **End Summary** Topics: video games video game culture
About the Author:
Want a PS3 but don't feel like spending $600 on one? Get one here for free

We as a society have come to be conditioned to think that a thin body image is "perfect". This type of image is portrayed in the media day in and day out. A recent survey found that models in the media are actually thinner then ninety-eight percent of the young girls and women in the United States.
This is very ironic considering that our society is also one in which food is made to be delivered fast and in large quantities. It is no wonder that so many young women and girls in their early teens are confused about how their body should look.
If you turn on the TV you will notice all the incredibly thin females who are made out to be the perfect female on commercials touting everything from make up to automobiles. Then you'll see another commercial, which is for some type of fast food, urging you to double the size of your order, even though the kid's meal will fill the stomachs of most adults.

Shoot high quality vacation videos

So you've just came back from that perfect vacation and you are excited to relive it again and again through the videos that you took? How would you feel if your videos were lousy? There's nothing worse then taking the perfect vacation, and then having a very imperfect recording of it! Read on for a few suggestions on how you can shoot high quality vacation videos.
SOUND
Built-in camera microphones tend to pick up every sound around them. Your ears are more directional than these microphones, meaning that you can pick out someone’s voice in a crowd. Your camera microphone cannot do this. It will only hear the crowd. If you want to pick out a particular sound, whether it is someone’s voice, a car, some music in a parade etc., you need to get physically close the subject. The reverse happens when you get in close – the camera picks up the sound of your subject and tends to cancel out all the surrounding noise.
WALKING WITH YOUR CAMERA
If you have to walk with your camera in the record mode because your subject is moving and you are following it, or you’ **End Summary** Topics: vacation videos shoot high quality good videos
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
Providing Travel Incentives for your Customers

Having trouble closing that sale? Have you considered offering them a travel incentive vacation?
Everybody loves freebies, and everyone certainly enjoys vacations! Giving customers this incentive can greatly increase your sales, and it doesn't need to cost you an arm and a leg! Imagine how enticing a "free" vacation must sound!
The most infamous of all "free vacations" is the stay at a resort where you are required to attend a time-share presentation. Actually, these are great offers if you don't mind sitting through a high-pressure sales presentation for 2-3 hours. For many it is worth it. But if you do decide to take advantage of one of these offers, leave your checkbook and credit cards at home because the salesmen in this industry are very good at what they do.
Just go in with a firm resolve that you are not going to buy anything and give the salesman their due respect, they are just doing their jobs and after all you made a deal! You knew what you were getting into, so pay the piper, do your time and enjoy the vacation. **End Summary** Topics: travel incentives for business travel incentive
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
How to Travel with a Pet

Does not wanting to leave your dog or cat behind hold you back from taking the trips and vacations you want to? Or perhaps you can't stand the idea of putting your pet into a kennel during your next trip.
Traveling with your pet is not as difficult as you may think. For example, when taking a flight, pets may ride either in a carrier that slides under your seat in the airplane, or in the cargo hold, which is a pressurized, safe and heated area very similar to the passenger compartment of the plane.
Before you make a reservation, be sure the airline will accommodate your pet. Some airlines do not take pets in-cabin; some discount airlines don't accept pets at all. So if you purchase your airline tickets through the Internet, make sure your pet will be able to travel with you.
Pet passengers require a reservation, whether traveling in-cabin or cargo. Airlines have restrictions on the number of pets they will carry in order to provide safe travel for all. So making your pet's reservation at the same time you purchase your ticket is a good idea. **End Summary** Topics: pet travel traveling with pet
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
Considering a Vacation in Fiji

Have you ever thought about going to Fiji for your next vacation? At first I was reluctant to consider it a safe option. There seemed to be numerous reports on the news speaking of political takeover. Through further research, I have learned that these takeovers really do not have an effect on tourist life there. As a matter of fact, the popular television series "Survivor" was recently filming in Fiji during a takeover. There were no interuptions to the show at that time.
Fiji is not just one island, but a group of more than 300 islands, and one of the primary industries that supports the economy of Fiji is tourism. All Fiji islanders realize that, without a constant supply of visiting tourists, from Europe and Australia as well as the USA, their economy would be in trouble. That is why, even when the government is toppled by the army, everything seems to be done in a polite, civilized manner so as not to disturb the tourists. **End Summary** Topics: fiji vacation family vacation
About the Author:
I recently did a review of a product you may be interested in.
