What's Wrong With Multitasking?

You may be doing something terribly wrong!

Are you a person who has so much on your plate that you juggle several things all at the same time? Do you pride yourself on your multi-tasking abilities? Is this scenario familiar to you? You're on a conference call and simultaneously scanning your emails, grabbing a bite to eat and jotting down notes for tomorrow's presentation?

If yes, keep reading.

You may be thinking, I'm doing pretty well at the balancing act and I'm someone who gets things done. Wrong, my friend...

The benefits to multi-tasking are actually WAY overrated.

In fact, it rarely saves time to multitask. Michigan psychologist David E. Meyer, PhD, along with his colleagues have found that rather than accomplishing more, people slowed down considerably when multitasking. Participants who were part of this study lost a significant amount of time shuttling between tasks of varying complexity and familiarity, adding as much as 40 percent to completion time compared to finishing one job and beginning another.

Switching back and forth among tasks creates stress and divides your attention. Plus, it's harder to remember where you left off and requires more thinking. **End Summary** Topics: Multi-tasking Save Time Work Smarter not Harder Accomplish More
About the Author:
Learn more about Diana, "The Results Expert"(TM) and receive your FREE Report, "The Business Owner's Guide to Having It All: Getting the Money, Love, & Life You Deserve!" and FREE subscription to "Life & Work Design Secrets" e-newsletter, please visit http://www.trulyprofitable.com .

What's Your Passion?

In 2005, Harris Interactive released a study, which found that only 20% of American workers are passionate about what they do. Wow, only 20%! That is really incredible if you think about it. This means 80% of the working population feels on some level, unhappy, dissatisfied, and unfulfilled. In all likelihood, 4 out of every 5 people you meet are frustrated, under-enthused and not feeling like they are living their "purpose".

Entrepreneurs are the lucky ones.

Most likely you started your business because you have such a strong passion for the products and services that you offer.

If your passion is strong, you've got a clear vision, AND a plan in place with well designed strategies to execute your vision and goals then you've got a really good shot at being successful with your own business. What's really exciting is that you can market your businesses today in ways that didn't even exist a couple of years ago. How? By creating your own platform both online and offline by using incredibly effective social media tools such as blogging, twitter, facebook, online radio shows and online TV.

Is there a learning curve? For sure. **End Summary** Topics: Passion Vision Exciting Plan Successful Business

Is Your Financial Comfort Zone Keeping You Stuck?

Are you someone who likes security, being in control and "knowing" what's next?

OR

Are you someone who delights in uncertainty and enjoys challenging yourself?

The majority of us fall somewhere in the middle and we tend to stick with what we are familiar with. Most people are creatures of habit, from how we brush our teeth to how we handle our finances. Let's be real, it's feels a lot easier to keep things the same than to change our habits.

You may make the decision to up level one of your goals (e.g.. generate more money, get physically fit, or enjoy a closer relationship with your loved one) but you may be disappointed with your results.

Why is it that people don't achieve their goals and dreams right away? One very important reason: we slip back onto our old habits and patterns and this keeps us stuck. In weight management research, scientists call this a "set point". What researchers have discovered is that people tend to stay within a particular "set point" in their weight--even if they diet or not--and yo-yo dieters, who experience some success, will often slide back to their comfort zone weight and familiar patterns. **End Summary** Topics: Financial Goals Creating More Cash Flow Challenge Yourself Slip Back into Old Habits Success

Got Team?

As an entrepreneur, you wear a lot of hats in your business, right? You're smart. You know you need to have the right help so you can be super productive and profitable in your business and you are probably already outsourcing certain tasks and responsibilities.

That's a great start.

But let me ask you, how well is it working for you? Do you have an ideal team in place? Is it easy and almost effortless for you to work with your team and together create awesome results?

Here's what I've discovered. Most entrepreneurs and business owners aren't having ideal experiences with creating their own strong team". In fact there are hundreds of "war stories' about staff problems and challenges.

Here's a common scenario. You make the decision to build your team, you're inspired, and you hire a new assistant, maybe two! You're riding high. You have so much to do. Lists get made. Assignments are given. You have high expectations of wild success, projects finally getting completed, more cash flowing in, and a lot less on your plate. Ahhh. Heaven.

Then it happens.

The honeymoon with your assistant is over. Mistakes, perhaps a few "whoppers" get made. **End Summary** Topics: Entrepreneurs business owners successful team staff problems big money objectives needs

Research on successful goal achieving reveals that out of 100 people... 67 people out of a 100 say that they do have goals.

Of those 67, approximately 10 make realistic, written plans w/ timelines, strategies & tactics and of those 10, approximately 2-3 people actually achieve their goals.

Yikes!

Rather startling statistics aren't they? The bottom line is that only 2 out of 100 persons get to the 'finish line' and realize their goal.

Are you among the 2%?

Dare to Dream Bigger than You Ever Have

Are you short-changing yourself? Do you hold back on how big you let yourself dream? Is it time for you to super-size your goals and dreams? You know the adage-life gives us what you ask of it? It's really true. Most people I know are timid about really "going" for it and have a lot of reasons and excuses as to why they can't have what they want, even those of us who feel like we are "big thinkers" could turn up the volume of our desires and aim higher and as a result create stunning successes that benefit not only ourselves and our business but truly make the world a better place. I'm curious; if you could tell me right now, what your current big goals and dreams are. Could you describe them to me in glowing, vivid detail? Don't be shy! Do you believe in yourself and the power of your dreams? Let me share a story with you. Recently I met Sean Stephenson, author of "Get Off Your But" and I can honestly say, I am forever changed. Sean has an interesting, compelling and inspirational life story. **End Summary** Topics: Sean Stephenson Get Off Your But stunning successes big thinkers Dreams into Reality drop the excuses
