2008 Sure Fire UFC Title Holders

There are fighters who are good, fighters who are great and fighters who you'd bet on no matter who their opponents are. Who are the absolute best fighters in the UFC? The fighters who define their weight classes and perhaps could compete at a weight class higher.

The UFC has five weight classes. Each weight class, with the exception of heavyweights spans 15 lbs and each class has their own sets of tried and true stars and outstanding performers.

The lightweight class goes from 155lbs to 170 lbs and features such great fighters as Sean Sherk, Spencer Fisher, Frank Edgar, BJ Penn, Joe Stevenson, Hermes Franca and Kenny Florian.

Welterweights go from 170lbs to 185 lbs and has such notables as Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, Diego Sanchez, Jon Fitch, Karo Parisyan, Josh Koscheck and Georges St Pierre.

Middleweights are between 170lbs and 185lbs. Top level UFC middleweight fighters include Anderson Silva, Rich Franklin, Evan Tanner, Dan Henderson (sometimes), Yushin Okami and Jason MacDonald.

The UFC light heavyweight division is perhaps the most talent deep of all the divisions in the UFC and covers 185lbs to 205lbs. **End Summary** Topics: ufc sure bets top picks fighters ultimate fighting
About the Author:
For <a href="http://www.ufcresultslive.com/categories/39-UFC-Results">UFC Results</a> visit UFC Results, the best place to go for UFC Predictions, Results and News.
Hard Work Is The Key To Building Web Traffic

How many link building schemes have you tried? If you're like me, you feel like you've tried everything under the sun to make your site more popular. Perhaps the answer that you're looking for isn't something new, perhaps it's something older, well proven and established. Let's face it, there are a lot of people out there willing to guide you in the wrong direction, just so that they can make a buck.

Let me give you an example of this misdirected guidance. Recently I've been looking for ways to broaden my base of advertising on my web sites, it isn't that I'm unhappy with my current advertisers, but as many people are, I'm always looking to improve my click-through-rate and payment per click. I found a thread on just such a subject on a well respected SEO forum. Almost every poster was gushing about a new ad agency, promising better ads, higher payouts, etc. I bought right into the hype , signed up (earning the person who's link I signed up through a $25 referral fee) and over the first 3 days made a whopping 34 cents. **End Summary** Topics: articles article marketing free content publishers internet marketing
About the Author:
Increase your internet traffic by submitting quality articles to <a href="http://www.articlechimp.com">Article Chimp Article Directory</a> and for niche articles about free, open source and internet software submit your articles to Open Source Depot Article Directory at http://www.open-source-depot.com

Is Houston Alexander Championship Material

Houston Alexander was a relative unknown when he stepped into the ring with "The Dean of Mean" in May of 2007. Not many gave Houston a chance in that fight, Jardine himself thought that he was being disrespected by having to fight Alexander, but something special happened that night, the rise of a new power in the UFC light heavyweight division.

It took just forty eight seconds for Houston Alexander to prove to the world that he belonged in the UFC mix. If Keith Jardine wasn't a believer before the fight, he surely was one afterwards. Alexander landed a big uppercut, then didn't stop until the ref pulled him off.

After that fight, half of the UFC fans thought that Alexander had something, a big, strong, athletic fighter with huge power in his fists. The other half didn't see enough to make a decision.

Alexander's second fight, against Alessio Sakara took longer, thirteen seconds longer in fact. Alexander got caught early, but laid a beating on Sakara leaving the fans in disbelief, but wanting more. The fans are about to get it on November 17th when Houston Alexander takes on undefeated UFC light heavyweight fighter Thiago Silva. **End Summary** Topics: ufc houston alexander ufc 78 champion light heavyweight
About the Author:
For <a href="http://www.ufcresultslive.com/categories/67-UFC-Fight-Cards">UFC Fight Card</a> information visit UFC Results, the best place to go for UFC Predictions, Results and News. 1000 Chimps at 1000 typewriters couldn't do it better than http://www.articlechimp.com .

All I Want For Christmas Is a Wii

Like every Christmas, this year a new video game console is on the top of many kids wish lists. The question for parents is which console is right for my kids, do you know the answer? I'll break down some of the major features of each console, the advantages and disadvantages and in the end hopefully give you some of the information you need to make an informed decision.

If you had told me a year ago that I would be standing in a room, playing video games with people old enough to be my parents (and in some cases they were my parents) I would have told you that you were crazy, but that's what the Nintendo Wii brings to the table.

The Wii is different than the other consoles and that difference is due to the new motion sensitive controller which ships with the console. Imagine that you're playing a golf game, typical controllers would have you push a thumb switch back, then forth to mimic a golf swing. The Wii on the other hand would have you stand up, draw back the controller (like a golf club) and swing. **End Summary** Topics: christmas gaming video games nintendo wii xbox ps3
About the Author:
Merry Christmas from North Pole Christmas at http://www.north-pole-christmas.com North Pole Christmas has a Christmas gift ideas section, check it out you might just find some good Christmas gift ideas.
Randy Couture Is Gone - Who Is On Top Now?

There is no doubt about it, the UFC heavyweight division is the most volatile in MMA. There have been many changes over the last year, champions have come and gone and now with Randy Couture leaving the question must be asked; who is the best heavyweight in the UFC?

Here are the fighters that I am considering for the top dog position.
- Randy Couture, although he has said he is leaving, but Dana White says he is still under contract.
- The "Maine-i-ac" Tim Sylvia is the former UFC heavyweight champion.
- Andrei Arlovski also a former UFC heavyweight champion.
- Brock Lesnar has an outstanding amateur wrestling background, but can that translate into MMA success?
- Mirko Cro Cop, former pride standout and Pride open weight champion.
- Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira who was a long time Pride heavyweight champion.
- Frank Mir, former UFC heavyweight champion.
- Gabriel Gonzaga, the guy who KO'd Mirko Cro Cop.

Picking the UFC heavyweight top dog is no easy task. The division is full of talented fighters and with the exception of Fedor and Josh Barnett has the best fighters in the world of MMA. **End Summary** Topics: ufc mma heavyweight champion randy couture
About the Author:
North Pole Christmas has excellent <a href="http://www.north-pole-christmas.com/categories/9-Christmas-Gift-Ideas">Christmas gift ideas</a> and UFC Results has UFC predictions, results, news and fight cards.
Dropping a Weight Class Could Help These UFC Fighters

The UFC's heavyweight and light heavyweight divisions are completely stacked. With Tim Sylvia, Big Nog, Cro Cop and Gonzaga, even with the departure of Randy Couture, the UFC heavyweight division is stacked. The light heavyweight division is really no different, with Liddell, Jackson, Griffin, Shogun, Wanderlei, Jardine and others it's awfully competative. There are four fighters who could really benefit by dropping down a weight class, maybe even win a title.

Let me start at the top, the UFC heavyweight division. There are a couple of UFC heavyweights who could make 205lbs, remember Randy Couture fought as a light heavyweight for a while, he even held the light heavyweight title. There is really only one UFC heavyweight who I want to talk about dropping weight. Brandon "The Truth" Vera just dropped a three round decision to former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia. Brandon didn't loose this match because of his skill-set. He lost because of Tim's size. Tim pushed Vera up against the fence and used his weight to close the distance, essentially negating Vera's superior kicking game. **End Summary** Topics: cutting weight ufc weight classes ufc dan henderson michael bisping rashad evans ufc 78
About the Author:
Jon is a contributing editor at <a href="http://www.ufcresultslive.com">UFC Results</a> - Come to UFC Results at http://www.ufcresultslive.com for UFC Results, UFC Predictions and UFC Fight Cards.

Installing Alternative PHP Cache on CentOS4 Or Red Hat Enterprise 4

If you look at a PHP source file you will notice one thing. It's a source file. Not particularly surprising, but think about when you deploy a PHP application, what do you deploy? PHP source files. Now for many other languages; Java, C, etc when you deploy an application you deploy the compiled file. So, the question that you want to ask yourself is this, how much time does a PHP application spend compiling source files vs running the code? I'll answer that for you, a lot.

There are advantages to being able to deploy source files though. It makes it easy to do on the fly modifications or bug fixes to a program, much like we used to do in the early BASIC languages. Just change the file and the next time it's accessed your change is reflected. So, how do we keep the dynamic nature of PHP, but not recompile our files every time they are accessed?

A PHP cache. It's surprising to me that this concept isn't built into the base PHP engine, but perhaps that's because some company's can sell this add on to speed up PHP. **End Summary** Topics: php apc cache alternative php cache php cache speed apache
About the Author:
Jon runs UFC fan site <a href="http://www.ufcresultslive.com/categories/39-UFC-Results/">UFC Results</a> come to UFC Results at http://www.ufcresultslive.com for UFC Results, Predictions, News and of course Fighter Rankings.

Wanderlei Silva vs Chuck Liddell at UFC 79

One of the most anticipated fights in the short history of mixed martial arts is Chuck Liddell versus Wanderlei Silva. Since 2003 this on again, off again match up has teased fans of both the UFC and Pride fighting championships, but now it looks like the fight may be on again.

UFC 79 on December 29th, 2007 is the rumored date for the fight to take place. The venue is in Las Vegas and the anticipation could not be any higher. It's true that both Wanderlei and Chuck are coming off back to back losses, but when you look at those losses and the quality of opposition it's clear that both of these guys are still at the top of their game.

Wanderlei Silva has fought an absolute who's who of 205lb mixed martial artists and won the vast majority of those battles. He's defeated Quinton Jackson twice in dominant fashion, defeated Dan Henderson, Ricardo Arona, Kazushi Sakuraba, but has yet to face the best of the "new" UFC. How will Wanderlei match up against Chuck Liddell, Keith Jardine, Houston Alexander or Forrest Griffin? **End Summary** Topics: ufc mma wanderlei silva chuck liddell champion
About the Author:
Jon is the web master at may successful web sites including his North Pole Christmas web site at http://www.north-pole-christmas.com and his Open Source Depot web directory.
Shared Or Dedicated Hosting?

When you first start thinking about building your first web site you are faced with a lot of choices. You need to choose a domain name, but also somebody to register that domain name. You need to decide on whether you'll use a CMS tool like Joomla or a blog engine like Wordpress, or maybe you'll purchase a nice template and use that. One of the biggest choices you'll need to make is your hosting service. The right hosting service can be the difference between spending time installing and configuring your site and spending time adding content.

Once you've chosen your hosting service you will be asking yourself one more important question. Do I choose shared hosting or dedicated hosting? There is not an easy one or the other answer to that question. In fact I'm having trouble even phrasing it generically so that you can size up your situation and decide, but I'll lay down a few rules and gotcha's and see where we end up.

On the surface shared hosting seems like a great deal. For instance from Go Daddy you can get shared hosting plan for just $3.99 a month. **End Summary** Topics: web hosting web hosting dedicated hosting shared hosting
About the Author:
Jon runs a number of web sites from one dedicated hosting account including Halloween Village, featuring <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com">scary halloween wallpaper</a> and Project Adsense at http://projectadsense.gocurious.com - Project Adsense features honest reviews of products Jon really uses or has used in making his internet business succeed.

Migrating your Serendipity Blog To A New Server

Moving to a new server is never easy or painless no matter how much work a software company (or open source project) has taken to make paths relative and isolate server specific settings. The fine authors of the Serendipity blog engine have done a very good job with these abstractions, but there are a couple of tricks and tips which will help you out if you need to move to a new server and/or a new domain name.

The first thing you need to do is make sure your security on your new server is set up correctly. For my case I had to move about 20 web sites from a shared hosting account (where security was managed for me) to a dedicated hosting account (where I had to implement the security myself). I am not going to elaborate on what I had to do for my security requirements, but for yours you will need to make sure that the appropriate directories have write access from PHP (or more likely the web server that PHP is running under). **End Summary** Topics: serendipity blog hosting moving dedicated host
About the Author:
Jon runs http://www.ultimate-fighter.net a Mixed Martial Arts fan site devoted mostly to the UFC and featuring predicitons for all UFC events.
UFC 76 Changes The UFC Light Heavyweight Landscape

Remember when the UFC light heavyweight division had Chuck and Tito and a bunch of pretenders? Those days are gone, Tito barely ranks top 10 in most peoples eyes and Chuck has suffered two losses in a row. In the new blood from Pride responsible or is everyone else just catching up?

This year, four meaningful light heavyweight contenders have been added to the UFC coming directly or indirectly from Japan's Pride organization. Of course I qualified that with meaningful as there are others like Kazuhiro Nakamura, but there isn't room in one article to talk about all of the top contenders in the light heavyweight, let alone guys who don't rank in the top ten. These light heavyweight contenders are Quinton Jackson, Dan Henderson, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Dan Henderson.

The best known fighter to join the UFC from Pride is Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Technically Quinton had a stopover in the WFA where he decisioned world top middleweight fighter Matt Lindland, but Quinton has spent the majority of his known career in the Pride organization. While in Pride, Quinton Jackson would fight for the title twice, both times against long time Pride light heavyweight champion Wanderlei Silva. **End Summary** Topics: martial arts ufc pride fighting fighters mma
About the Author:
Visit http://www.ufcresultslive for the latest UFC results, UFC predictions and UFC news.
My Halloween Movie Top 5

First of all I want to distinguish between the best horror movies and the best Halloween movies. I think I have a good example. Jaws is an excellent horror movie, but a poor Halloween movie. The chances of a huge great white attacking you in the dark on Halloween is pretty minimal, unless you live on a boat. An example of a good horror movie for Halloween would be a movie like "The Shining" as insanity is always scary.

To decide what are the best Halloween movies we must first come up with some criteria. Certainly they must be scary...and not in a "Jaws" kind of way. If they have some sort of fog in them, that would be cool and of course there should be an element of the macabre. Here are my top 5 Halloween movies and why.

5. How can you pick the top five Halloween movies without including Halloween on the list. I'll take the original 1978 version with a very young Jamie Lee Curtis in it. Michael Myers has become a horror legend since this movie.

"Brutal, emotionless Michael Myers stabs his sister to death at age six on Halloween night in 1963; **End Summary** Topics: halloween horror movies scary spooky
About the Author:
More <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com">Halloween Movie Reviews</a> can be found at Halloween Village, visit us for <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com/categories/1-Halloween-Wallpaper/">Halloween Wallpaper</a> , recipes, decorating ideas and more.

The UFC's lightweight division has certainly had it's ups and downs over the past year. With two positive tests for steroids and BJ Penn re-entering the fold, it's time to re-evaluate the rankings in the UFC lightweight division.

Lightweights in the UFC are considered to be up to 155lbs, but most of the guys in this list walk around at well over 155lbs. Sean Sherk and BJ Pen have both competed successfully at higher weights and former Ultimate Fighters Joe Stevenson and Kenny Florian have come down to be at 155. Let's not waste any time and get to the list.

6. Roger Huerta was virtually unknown to UFC fans just a year ago, but with 5 consecutive wins added in that time (to put his total to 15 in a row) and a sports illustrated cover have made Huerta a household name and fight fan favorite. I first started taking notice of Huerta with his decision victory over Leonard Garcia at UFC 69. Huerta seemed to have endless cardio in that fight and has had added two more impressive victories since then. One against Douglas Evans and one against a very tough Alberto Crane. **End Summary** Topics: christmas shopping north pole savings xmas noel
About the Author:
UFC Results is the place to find <a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">UFC Predictions</a> and more information about <a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">Mauricio Shogun Rua</a>

Advantages To Early Christmas Shopping

Some people love Christmas shopping, they can't get enough of the decorations, music and people crowding the shops and malls as the big day approaches. Others dread the thought; there is nothing that these people would rather do than pick gifts out of a catalog or off a web site and have them delivered. Either way, early Christmas shopping can have benefits.

With the kids back to school and Thanksgiving still I've noticed that some stores are starting to put Christmas decorations out. Could it be? So early? Then I thought about it; I've already picked up a few gifts for the kids, small things that I may not be able to find later. Die cast cars from the Disney movie of the same name, Pirates of the Caribbean action figures and some mutant ninja turtles accessories. All of these things are popular right now and available, but once the silly season hits, you never know.

Other than gift availability is there any other reason to do Christmas shopping early? You bet there is, how about spreading out the financial damage. **End Summary** Topics: christmas shopping north pole savings xmas noel
About the Author:
North Pole Christmas is a web site which caters to all the Christmas nuts out there.
Halloween Party Fun

Well, the time has come again. We've hit the end of August, so summer is over and I guess my son feels he needs to have something to look forward to. And that's not going back to school. So as we sit and chat about what we are going to do the last couple of days before school starts, he pops up with, "mommy, can I have another Halloween party this year. Yes, you heard me right, he is already asking about Halloween. On one hand I can't believe what I'm hearing, however, on the other hand I too love Halloween. Actually our whole family loves Halloween. My two kids actually talk about what they are going to ware throughout the whole year. And as soon as the stores come out with Halloween stuff we're there.

Back to the party, I say "ok lets have a Halloween party". We sit down and make a list of guests. I'm fortunate as a lot of my sons friends, their parents are friends of mine, so I get have have a little party of my own as well. And some help as well. **End Summary** Topics: halloween party kids recipes ideas
About the Author:
Find your <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com">Halloween Wallpaper</a> at

UFC Welcomes Shogun

If you're a fan of mixed martial arts and you don't know who Mauricio "Shogun" Rua is yet, you will soon. Shogun makes his UFC debut at UFC 76 on September 22nd where he faces a worthy opponent in Forrest Griffin. Don't be fooled by the debut part though, Shogun is a seasoned veteran ready to make a run at the UFC light heavyweight title, currently held by Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Mauricio Rua sports a mixed martial arts record of sixteen wins and two losses. Those losses coming at the hands of current UFC light heavyweight contender Renalto "Babalu" Sobral when Rua was still just learning the MMA game and a loss to a much larger Mark Coleman who slammed Rua and broke his arm. Shogun considers his loss to Babalu as his only real loss and says the other was just a freak accident.

In the win category, Mauricio Rua has some impressive credentials, including a win over current UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson. A fight which Shogun dominated and easily won by first round KO. In fact, if you want to get an idea of Shogun's real talents, that's a good fight to watch. **End Summary** Topics: ufc mma shogun mauricio rua pride fighting champion
About the Author:
Jon is the editor and main contributer at UFC Results, a martial arts fan site and the best place to find <a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">UFC 76 Results</a> and <a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">UFC 76 Predictions</a>

Halloween Spirit

Now that the leaves on the trees are starting to change color and that familiar chill in the air can be felt, it's time to start thinking about that scariest of holidays; Halloween. Ghosts and goblins, ghouls and witches and all that candy! I don't think there is any time of year more exciting for kids than Halloween.

Halloween is celebrated on October 31st and "trick or treating" has become a tradition, but it's not the only one. Costume parties, haunted houses, hayrides and creepy movie festivals are all part of the weeks leading up to the big day. Here are some sof my Halloween ideas, perhaps you'll use some of them this year.

Halloween decorating does not need to be expensive, but if you want you can spend a fortune. People do everything from the most simple decoration (a pumpkin) to extravagant light shows and my favourite personal haunted houses and yards. You need to find something which matches your budget and commitment. Dollar stores have a lot of inexpensive Halloween decorations, my favourite from the dollar stores are the glow in the dark spiders and skeletons. **End Summary** Topics: halloween decorating spooky scary
About the Author:
Jon aka Jack Sparrow is the web master at <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com">Halloween Village</a> , the best place to get your <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com/categories/1-Halloween-Wallpaper/">Halloween Wallpaper</a>

If you're a mixed martial arts fan, you're probably sick of that headline. You're sick of hearing how Lorenzo J. Fertitta and Frank J. Fertitta have purchased PrideFC from it's former Dream Stage Entertainment owners and ousted former CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara. You want to hear more about what is possible the biggest month in Mixed Martial Arts history, April 2007.

There are four shows worth mentioning in April, in addition to season 5 of "The Ultimate Fighter". These shows are:

April 5, 2007 - Ultimate Fight Night 9

This show features a bout between Joe Stevenson and Melvin Guillard. These two 155 pound fighters are at the cusp of becoming superstars in the UFC lightweight division. A win in this bout, then perhaps one more and one of these guys might be ready for a title shot. There is also another interesting match on this card, featuring the return of Kenny Florian after his beat down, courtesy of UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk. Kenny Florian is facing Dokonjonosuke Mishima.

April 7, 2007 - UFC 69: Shootout

Everybody is waiting to see what Georges St Pierre has in store for Matt "The Terror" Serra. **End Summary** Topics: UFC Pride PrideFC Ultimate Fighting MMA Martial Arts
About the Author:
<a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">UFC - Pride Predicions and Results</a> is the best UFC and Pride news and rumour site around. <a href="http://www.ultimate-fighter.net">Ultimate Fighter Forums</a> is the place to make your MMA opinions known.
Who Is Next For Chuck Liddell

With only 2 losses in his last twenty Mixed Martial Arts fights; there is little doubt that Chuck Liddell is the best light heavyweight fighter in the world. Still, fans of the UFC always want to see good battles, so it's worth looking forward to those fighters, UFC, Pride or elsewhere who might give Chuck Liddell a run for his money.

Chuck Liddell is on a seven fight winning streak, his last defeat coming at the hands of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in November of 2003. Those seven victories were against some of the top light heavyweights of all time, including two victories over Randy "The Natural" Couture and two victories over Tito Ortiz. Other notables were submission masters Renalto "Babalu" Sobral and Jeremy Horn.

The fight against Quinton Jackson, which was held in Japan under Pride rules was probably the last time that Chuck Liddell looked remotely vulnerable. His two victories over Randy Couture and Tito Ortiz were easy and his dismantlingof Jeremy Horn shows how far Chuck has come as a fighter since the two first met in 1999. A fight which Horn won by submission in the first round. **End Summary** Topics: chuck liddell ufc mma fights fighting martial arts shogun mirko quinton
About the Author:
<a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">Mixed Martial Arts</a> is the combat sport of the future. <a href="http://www.ultimate-fighter.net">Ultimate Fighter Forums</a> is the place to make your MMA opinions known.
Sometimes in life we need to take a step back, ignore our hearts and go with our heads. UFC 68 on March 3rd, in Columbus Ohio is one of those times. The main event on the UFC 68 card is Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia vs Randy "The Natural" Couture. Tim Sylvia stands 6'8" and weighs in around 265 pounds and is 30 years old. Randy Couture is 6'1", 205 pounds (probably 10 or 15 heavier for this fight and is 43 years old. Almost everyone I know wants Randy to defeat Tim Sylvia, but they are thinking with their hearts, not their heads.

I am also guilty of wanting a couture victory. Sure, Randy, do it for us old guys. Show those big young lads that there is still a little steam left in the over 40 crowd. Recapture your glory and go out on top as champion of the UFC heavyweight division. I'm positive that Randy thinks he can do this and he certainly has the background for it. Randy is a 3 time Olympic wrestling alternate. **End Summary** Topics: Randy Couture Tim Sylvia UFC MMA martial arts fights fighters cage championship
About the Author:
<a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">Mixed Martial Arts</a> is the combat sport of the future. <a href="http://www.ultimate-fighter.net">Ultimate Fighter Forums</a> is the place to make your MMA opinions known.
The Legends of MMA

Wouldn't it be great to turn back time? I'm tired of seeing older fighters past their prime, just looking for another payday. These guys are forced to fight guys ten or fifteen years younger than themselves. The most recent examples of this were the fights between Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock and the fight between Royce Gracie and Matt Hughes. We've also seen such mismatches as Tank Abbott vs Frank Mir and Tank Abbott vs Paul Buentello. Even so, part of me wants to see these legends mix it up again, just not in mismatches which tarnish their past glory.

Let's face it, in their day, Gracie and Shamrock were the number one and two fighters in the UFC and likely in the entire MMA world. Grace fought people 75 pounds heavier than he was and defeated them. Shamrock was feared for his power and leg locks. These two guys fought each other twice, the first time Ken Shamrock got caught in a choke from Gracie. The second match went past 25 minutes and was declared a draw.

I would personally like to see Ken Shamrock vs Royce Gracie 3. **End Summary** Topics: ufc pride mma legends gracie shamrock tank kimo
About the Author:
<a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">Ultimate Fighting</a> is the combat sport of the future. <a href="http://www.ultimate-fighter.net">Ultimate Fighter Forums</a> is the place to make your MMA opinions known. <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com">Scary Stuff Here</a>

Mike Swick is Ready For a Title Shot

Can somebody please explain to me why Mike Swick is fighting Yushin Okami at UFC 69 in Houston Texas? Is it because Mike Swick is a home town fighter and the UFC wants to make sure that he wins? Is it because he's the only 185 pound fighter left with a shot at defeating Anderson Silva and they don't want him to lose a warm up bout? Or is it because Mike Swick isn't ready for a title shot yet?

Let's look at Yushin Okami's credentials coming into this fight. Okami's record looks impressive enough, 19-3-0 with a win over current 185 pound champion Anderson Silva. Looking a little closer however, reveals that his win over Silva was a DQ due to an illegal kick. His most notable win comes over Rory Singer by submission due to punches. However, Rory Singer is not Mike Swick.

Now, let's look at Mike Swick's fight history. I'm only going to deal with well known fighters. Mike Swick's big fights have been against Chris Legen, Joe Riggs and David Loiseau. First of all, let's deal with the one loss out of those three fights, a knockout loss to Chris Leben. **End Summary** Topics: mike swick ufc mma middleweight martial arts
About the Author:
<a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">Mixed Martial Arts</a> is the combat sport of the future. <a href="http://www.ultimate-fighter.net">Ultimate Fighter Forums</a> is the place to make your MMA opinions known. <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com">Scary Stuff Here</a>

Matt Serra The Future UFC Lightweight Champion

Let's get things straight, I'm saying that Matt Serra has no chance against Georges St Pierre in their UFC welterweight championship bout on April 7, 2007 in Houston Texas. What I am saying is that Matt "The Terror" Serra will be a future champion in the UFC lightweight division.

The UFC does not have another fighter like Matt Serra. Serra is a brilliant fighter, a fighter with a 7-4 MMA record, 5-4 in the UFC. Huh? How can I call a fighter with a record like that brilliant? As is often the case in combat sports, Matt Serra is not defined as a fighter by his victories, but by his losses and Matt Serra's losses are impressive!

Matt Serra's first loss came in May 2001 to none other than Shonie Carter. Matt Serra was dominating this fight and was ten seconds away from winning when Shonie caught Matt with an impressive spinning back fist. That back fist has become the staple of every MMA knockout highlight reel since. **End Summary** Topics: ufc matt serra pride fight fighters fighting ultimate fighting
About the Author:
<a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">Mixed Martial Arts</a> is the combat sport of the future. <a href="http://www.ultimate-fighter.net">Ultimate Fighter Forums</a> is the place to make your MMA opinions known.
Can Anyone Stop Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic is a heavyweight Mixed Martial Arts fighter with a record of 22-4-2. That's an awfully impressive record, but the record does not tell the whole story. However, the record is a nice starting point.

Let's examine "Cro Cop's" record, starting with his losses. Mirko's four losses come at the hands of some of the best fighters in MMA history, they are (in reverse chronological order):

1) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - Former Pride heavyweight champion.
2) Kevin Randleman - Former UFC heavyweight champion.
3) Fedor Emelianenko - Current Pride heavyweight champion.
4) Mark Hunt - Former K-1 Grand Prix champion.

Hold on, has this guy ever lost to someone who didn't hold the belt? To anyone who at one time or another wasn't at the very top of the sport? No, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic is the real deal. I said earlier that the record does not tell the whole story, so let's analyze these losses a little and see what we can figure out.

Mirko Cro Cop's loss to Antonio Nogueira was by arm bar submission...in 2003. This is a fight that Mirko was dominating up until the submission. **End Summary** Topics: Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic mma ufc fights pride pridefc fedor heavyweight
About the Author:
<a href="http://mma.gocurious.com">Experience MMA</a> at the Ultimate place for MMA news, predictions and videos, <a href="http://www.ultimate-fighter.net">Your Opinion Counts</a> at the Ultimate Fighter Forum. <a href="http://www.halloween-village.com">If you think MMA is scary, try Halloween Village</a>

Serendipity Is The Best Open Source Blog Engine

Who am I to determine that Serendipity is absolutely best blog software on the planet? Well, I'll admit I've only been using blog software for 6 months. I've only tried Serendipity, Word Press and Nucleus. However, I have created over 20 full web sites using software from all areas. I've used Mambo, Joomla, Nucleus, Word Press, Serendipity, Java Servlets and JSPs', plain HTML pages and Serendipity is my favorite.

I have worked as a professional programmer for 15 years and with Java (as a software engineer) for the last 10 years. I've spent most of that time dealing intimately with various web technologies. Certainly I am no blog expert, but I have a bit of experience with software. Serendipity is good software.

Serendipity is a blog engine. A blog is simply a series of postings to a web site, sometimes organized and sometimes random. They are meant to quickly collect ones thoughts, but more recently entire web sites are being created out of sophisticated blog engines. I believe the blog engine and full fledged CMS solutions are converging. **End Summary** Topics: blog serendipity nucleus blogging content seo cms internet s9y
About the Author:
<a href="http://www.open-source-depot.com">Open Source Depot</a> is Jon's Joomla based Open Source information web site.
