Science for Kids - Keeping Them Interested

Are your children naturally curious? Do they wonder how things work? Do they marvel at the stars and moon? Are they the hands-on type that are always taking things apart and putting them back together?

To some parents, such habits may seem annoying, but kids who show a keen interest in acquiring scientific knowledge early in life eventually become intelligent, inquisitive teens and adults who don't take a simple "yes" or "no" for an answer. Their curious minds will take them far!

Science for kids can be wonderfully fascinating! What child doesn't love performing experiments or building models during science class or for the school science fair? Parents should remember, however, that science doesn't have to be limited to the school classroom, and that at-home science activities can go a long way in keeping a child interested in the world around him. Truth is, kids can enjoy science just about anywhere, as long as parents are eager to guide.

Science at Home

The National Science Foundation says that parents are their kid's first science teachers. **End Summary** Topics: science for kids parents children kids hands-on curious science class
About the Author:
Bonnie Foshee, Parenting Expert.
Helping Your Child Improve Reading Skills

Reading is the foundation of a life filled with learning and understanding of the world. What a gift it must be then, to instill love for reading in your child. If you are able to do so, you guarantee your child's success and ensure their ability to learn, grow, and adapt to the ever-changing society in which we live. If the proper reading skills are not developed by your child, he or she will struggle with all of the subjects in school.

Parenting is not an easy job, and it is especially hard when you see your child struggling to master something as complex as reading and phonics. As an adult with years of reading experience, it can be hard to visualize why your child is having problems picking up something that came so naturally to you and to others. This can leave you feeling inadequate and frustrated, both of which can have a negative impact on your efforts to improve your child's reading skills.

So, be calm; be patient, and follow these parenting tips for improving reading skills:

1. Read with your child often no matter what his or her age. **End Summary** Topics: improve reading skills child success learning understanding child's success parenting reading skills
About the Author:
Bonnie Foshee, Parenting Expert.
Is Your Child an Entrepreneur?

Entrepreneur definition: An innovator of business enterprise who recognizes opportunities to introduce a new product, a new process or an improved organization, and who raises the necessary money, assembles the factors for production and organizes an operation to exploit the opportunity.

Hmm, sounds complicated and certainly not something a child or teen could accomplish. Business is for adults, right? Wrong! These days, talented young people are showing the world that the word entrepreneur can pertain to them.

Junior entrepreneurs are springing up everywhere and we're not talking lemonade stands on a hot summer day! Thanks to the internet, it's easier than ever for middle and high school-aged kids to start their own business and manage it to the point where it is quite successful and generates a regular income.

The First Steps Toward Success

If your child seems to fit the entrepreneur definition and they show a keen interest in developing a new business, there are a few things they'll need to devise and think through in order to be successful.

1. Ideas - Encourage any idea your child/teen might have, but help them do research to determine if it is feasible. **End Summary** Topics: entrepreneur entrepreneur definition marketing selling internet marketing child teenager
About the Author:
Bonnie Foshee, Parenting Expert, Powerful Parenting Tips .
How to Stay Happily Married With Kids

Raising a family can be challenging and stressful at times. However, the common goals and emotional, financial, and physical investments made can be a common bond between husband and wife. One that compliments their marriage relationship.

Of course, like anything else worthwhile, maintaining a healthy husband and wife relationship with children underfoot takes effort. The following tips can help keep marital bliss alive:

Happy Marriage Recipe

Every happy marriage begins and ends with the same ingredient; the willingness to negotiate. The stumbling block in some relationships, however, is that while the husband was taught to take the upper hand, the wife may have been trained to cooperate. Marriage partners in an equal marriage need to define their husband wife role, to themselves and each other. This lays the groundwork for mutual respect; and the understanding that when there is a conflict, both parties must be ready to negotiate.

A Touch of Romance

Every bit as important as remaining best friends throughout married life, intimacy in marriage is vital. This includes emotional intimacy as well as sexual intimacy. Time alone together to share feelings is a must. **End Summary** Topics: stay married staying married happy together marriage husband wife relationship children kids family
About the Author:
Bonnie Foshee, Parenting Expert,

Single Parent Dating - How to Balance Your Family and Social Life

Help for single parents is a necessity in today's society. In 2000, the US Census Bureau of Household and Family Statistics reported that single parents accounted for 27% of family households with children under 18-years of age. And one out of two children will live in a single parent family at some point during their childhood.

It is noteworthy, therefore, to address the unique family and social needs of divorced and single parents.

Quality Family Time

The daily routine in most broken family households can be hectic. The majority of single parents work outside the home.

Aside from the need to re-establish some sort of normal daily routine to help children regain their footing, a child's social needs and quality family time are also important.

Because one parent now must strive to fill a two parent role at least during weekdays, spare time is precious. Creative ways to enjoy family fun and quality time together are a must.

Having children help with Saturday chores and errands, for instance, can be fun. It can also provide opportunity for positive reinforcement of family unity and working together to accomplish tasks. **End Summary** Topics: single parent dating single parents single parent home
About the Author:
Bonnie Foshee, Parenting Expert You are missing out if you haven't signed up yet to receive all the free parenting tips and articles.
Parenting the Strong-Willed Child and Keeping the Upper Hand

If you haven't experienced it for yourself, you've seen its effects. You've seen the haggard, weary-looking faces of countless mothers trudging through the grocery store aisles holding the hands of little ones wearing that triumphant "I've just got my way, again" smirk.

You've seen grown women brought to tears in the check out line or at the doctor's office by a small, wriggling, screaming body that just won't seem to quit. And while you may feel lucky that you escaped all of that torture, don't congratulate yourself just yet. Your time for dealing with a strong-willed child may be quickly approaching and you will need all of your parenting skills to cope with it.

When talking about strong-willed children, there are two age brackets that pop into mind very quickly: the terrible twos and the always-torturous teenage years. While you may think that these two ages require completely different parenting approaches, they do not. Of course, the language that you use will change, but the basics for parenting strong-willed children stay the same no matter the age.

The key to parenting strong-willed children is consistency. Sounds easy, huh? Well it's not. **End Summary** Topics: parenting parenting tips tip advice strong-willed child kids
About the Author:
Bonnie Foshee, Parenting Expert, Discover 11 Powerful Parenting Tips for a Happy and Successful Child .
Empower Your Children: Teach Them How to Deal with Bullying

Watching a child become the victim of bullying can be one of the most painful things that a parent has to deal with. Frustration can lead way to anger as your plea to stop the bullying falls on deaf ears. Feelings of helplessness can overwhelm you as you realize that bullying is something that you cannot protect your child from when he or she is away from home. While it may seem like there is nothing that you can do to protect your child, and reverse the effects of the bullying on your child's self-esteem, there is something very important that you can do. And it doesn't involve going to the school or to the bully's parents.

At one time or another every child is victimized by bullying. You were likely bullied as a child, and probably took some part in bullying others. The truth of the matter is that bullying is a natural part of growing up. It's going to happen, and there's nothing that you can do to prevent it. But you do play a role in determining whether your child will be adversely affected by bullying, or if they will merely brush it off. **End Summary** Topics: bullies bully bullying victim self-esteem pride parent child
About the Author:
Bonnie Foshee Parenting Expert Discover my 11 powerful parenting tips for a happy and successful child.
You may have heard that you should read to your children when they are small. You've probably also heard that you need to stay involved with your child. But do you know the secrets behind helping your child be successful?

Each child is different which means their needs are different. You as a parent know your child best. But if they have a different personality from you, or have a different way of learning then you do, then what do you do?

In retrospect it is easier to see where you went wrong with raising your child. But you want to get it right the first time, because you do not get a second chance. My son is 20, and I now realize that I was way too hard on him as a child. I wanted him to do his best, so I was always telling him how to do things better. Even though he is very bright and successful, I now see where this hurt his self-esteem. He saw himself as not being good enough. When I would compliment his work, I was usually adding, but why don't you do this... or it would be better if... **End Summary** Topics: parenting tip only child parenting christian parenting parenting for dummies child achievement parenting advice raising happy child self-esteem
About the Author:
Discover 11 Powerful Parenting Tips For A Happier and More Successful Child.
What I Have Learned from Millionaires

Being rich is not about luck. It isn't always about hard work either. You can't think and grow rich,,,. but you do need to visualize your success.

I have learned from studying millionaires, that the best way to become one is to learn from them, and follow what they do. There are systems for gaining wealth that work¦ all you have to do is follow the steps. You do not have to be intelligent to do something someone tells you.

Can you follow a system? Will you take time to learn from others?

What is it you want out of life? Having money does not create happiness. You must have something you want to achieve or do.

¢ Do you want to spend more time with your family?
¢ Do you want to quit working for someone else, and work for yourself?
¢ Do you want to have enough money to donate to your favorite charity?
