Wow, the power of technology.I cannot wait to see more.

This is the first I’ve heard of Google Android, I’ll have to look into it.

As far as AT&T goes, I’m in California (Sacramento) and had no big issues with it, other than knowing other services do provide more for less.

My daughter (who is also in California) has T-Mobile and isn’t too happy, but tolerates it.

You mentioned the AT&T network and problems in your area….where abouts are you?

    Tony

This is quite an interesting. I’ve been waiting for Google to make more moves into the mobile market.

  8. Lisa

I agree that the AT&T coverage is not too great in some areas. It’s not a problem where I live but it has been when I’ve traveled. That being said, I love my iPhone!

  9. Diego

Now all Verizon has to do is start offering the IPhone. I can’t believe that Apple and Verizon haven’t been able to strike a deal. Maybe Google can apply some pressure. The users want it!

AT&T and T-mobile definitely needs some competition. People need more options as its the only way for the present networks to improve their service. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this.

  11. George

Well, its about time another phone competitor came out with a strategy to compete against At&t. I hope they can create a better service

We just bought a G2 my Touch. I have reviews on my blog if you care to look. We are very impressed with the service, yeah I live in Ca. and yes T mobile is the T1 provider. By the end of Oct. T mobile has major upgrades due for completion improving call quality in areas around the country that currently has slim coverage.
Partial improvement is coming from software upgrades and partial is from T mobile buying up smaller carriers.
The G2 my Touch phone in comparison to the iPhone.
Hey I’m not going to knock the iPhone but I’ve heard that there is not sufficient band width to make many of the apps work.
The Android os is Windows based with hundreds of apps available (check the blog for the short list).
Last item to note on the laundry list, how would you like to lose the monthly cell phone bill?
Yeah I’m serious. You might want to look into the possibility-it’s real.

Surely launch of new platform from Google is a real challenge to iphone. But, as I perceive it, domination of Google on the market of search systems doesn’t necessarily mean that this company will turn into the leader of production of mobile phone. Personally I trust to old and reliable iphones.

I disagree that the AT&T coverage is not too great in some areas. You must live in the county somewhere. I love my iPhone.

Before you guys pull out your wallets and even consider buying the Agora, wait for the next generation of android phones!
the ones with a Snapdragon processor should literally change the user experience, The one I prefer is the slick Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 http://www.androphonez.com/android-phones-XPERIA.html
should be out in the markets any day now!

Finally, I love Verizon as a carrier but I want something like a smart phone to do twitter and other internet applications on. Hopefully the new android phones has a few more applications built for it.

Is it me or is nobody else concerned about seeing advertisements on my cell phone? Google already has adwords for mobile phones and being open source and all. It’s just a matter of time.

  30. Mathew

day by day the size of things are getting smaller. pretty soon LCD and touchscreen will be out and something better will come. i don’t see an end in technology…

  31. Jason

LOL I loved the article title!

  32. Chris

@ Ken S – mobile is so big now that mobile advertising will become the norm i’m afraid to say. Certainly don’t expect it to disappear!
