Thanks for this link. It was very useful for me. Some of this described mistakes I had mistaked too. But I learned from it and I think that is the best thing you can do.
It was a great finding this blog! and that webconf. Now I must read it deeper so I can get those tools such as Steve commented above.

If you use images in your web pages, you can add “alt” tag for it. search engine can’t understand image data. because of this, you should use relevant “alt” information with images
Bad backlinks are killing it out for the SEO big no no at present-the hype is all about volume of links and even taking into account the linkfarms etc. the links are still bad. I have seen many situations in the SERPS where a site with 200 inlinks beating sites with 1000+ links due to the 200 inliks coming from “tusted” and related industry sites.
Time to explain the “trusted” part of the theory. Which site link would you trust more? The one with 500 inlinks or 5000 inlinks? These days you’ve got to evaluate the link strength of the site that is linking to you to really get efficient.
That’s a great article, it’s unfortunate that people buy up URL’s (and try to sell them for ridiculous prices) that would greatly benefit a start-up company with little or no cash. Keywords in the content (and especially titles) is very important as well.

Webconfs has awesome tools that I find myself using all the time.
I am constantly using their Keyword-Rich Domain Name Suggestion tool to plug in keywords and find available domains to buy.
They also have a great Domain age checker, and http header tool that I use all the time. Definitely a good resource.

11. Writing content for search engines only. Write for people. Don’t focus too much on keywords – they will come anyway if you write naturally.
