Therefore it may not come as a surprise to you that the Maldives is one of the highest water sports holiday destinations – especially for diving. There are countless dive sites, including wrecks and night dives alive with parrotfish, manta rays and butterflyfish, also add to its credentials as a top diving destination.

3. Croatia (Kayaking)
Croatia is yet another beautiful country that offers itself as an excellent family watersport holiday destination. Croatia’s coastline runs more than 1,100 miles. Add the shorelines of 1,185 islands, plus its inland lakes, rivers, lagoons, and waterfalls, and it’s clear that the country is a paradise for watersports enthusiasts.
If you are looking to enjoy kayaking and rafting whilst you are on holiday the waters around Dubrovnik and the Elafiti islands are full of kayakers in the summer. Each of the main islands, Kolocep, Lopud, and Sipan has its own personality and each invites land-based exploring.
There are also plenty of waterfall side lakes and rivers to enjoy as well as the sea. So if you are looking for a thrill-seeking and adrenaline-pumping adventure, Croatia is perfect for you.
4. Tenerife (water parks)
Next on our list of water sports destinations for families is Tenerife in Spain. Like other countries around the world, Tenerife offers beautiful weather and lots of entertainment. However, Tenerife also offers the best water park in the world- Siam Park. This is perfect family fun with rides to suit people of all ages, including one of the highest water slides in the world ‘The Tower Of Power’. A must for the bucket list!
Our top tip to having a smooth-running day at a water park is to ensure you have an ultimate adventure backpack, which is large enough to carry around everything the family needs for the day – without being too bulky. For this reason, we would strongly recommend carrying a waterproof backpack, along with a mini first aid kit in case an accident occurs. They are great for ensuring that you have all of the essentials you need whilst you are on your adventures, without taking up too much room.
