Writing Tips For Your Autoresponder Series

By: Don Schnure

Whether you are new to the world of autoresponders or you're looking to improve the effectiveness of your campaigns, you are likely in need of a way to pick up the writing and content of your messages. An autoresponder holds a huge amount of potential, however you need to attack your messages and emails in the right fashion. Ultimately, you are trying to push for an end outcome, whether it's a sale, a referral or any other action. Keep your desired action in mind, and build out your messages around that.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they spend all of their time writing these detailed messages but then they never ask for a person to do anything. The end result is a lack of conversions and a waste of your time. A call to action is an extremely important element of an autoresponder email campaign. Every email you send should be directly pushing your list to take an action.

If you review a product but then don't include a link to make a purchase and tell them why they should do it right away, then what's the point? Put the idea in the heads of your list members and drive the point home of what you're trying to accomplish.

Another way to improve the writing effectiveness of your autoresponder series is to make the messages about the needs and desires of your list members, as opposed to what you alone want to say. Forget about your interests, your desires and your point of view and instead focus on what your list members are looking for. Your messages should be useful, informative and engaging for the people on your list, and should be directly speaking to them in terms of finding new benefits and solving problems that they have.

If you aren't providing something of value to the people on your list, why should they be paying attention to your emails? Free tips and resources and detailed, unbiased information can win over list members. Every email doesn't have to be directly selling. Sometimes you need to work on establishing a beneficial relationship and simply staying on the mind of your readers.

You should also keep in mind that you want yourself and your company to come off as legitimate as possible. Legitimacy builds trust and respect, which in turn will lead to more conversions. One way to do this is by adding your contact information on every email. This will show people that you're a real human being that's available to talk with, and that your company actually exists.

Additionally, you can make people feel more secure by ensuring that your emails include easy unsubscribe links in them. Don't try to trap anybody on your list. Keep them there with great content, and leave the door open for them to leave if they desire.

If you follow the above tips and guidelines your autoresponder series should start producing drastically improved results in no time at all. Write for your audience, call them to action and build up your legitimacy and you'll hit the ground running with more sales than ever before.
