In essence there are two type of environment: the natural environment and the man-made environment. The natural aspect comprises non-living and living things that exist naturally. These compose the ecological units and the resources. The ecology is the component of the environment that occurs without the intervention of man which includes the animals, plants, rocks, atmosphere and microorganisms. All natural phenomena are basically involved in the natural environment. Likewise, resources compose the part of the environment which includes air, waters, land, climate, and other physical aspects of the world. The man-made environment, on the other hand, comprises the areas which are strongly influenced or developed my man. Both environment needs to be taken care of for man to live well. Sustainability is the key to keep these environments at its maximum existence.

The challenge however, is that not all beings on the earth are concern about how sustainability should be attained. People tend to live in lifestyles and habits that greatly affect the environment in a negative, rather than positive way. Recently, the popular global warming phenomenon (the irregular and unpredictable change in climate) has increased concerns among environmentalists as they believe that the atmosphere is affected by the mans negative lifestyle and usage of materials. Air pollution, for example, is believed to be one of the causes of global warming. Air pollution can actually be controlled if there is proper management of utilization of energy. In which case, if only all men are aware of how common energy is used, then pollution can readily be controlled and in turn minimize global warming. Of course, this is just one example of environmental problem. There are still plenty of environmental concerns. Men should be aware of how to manage the environment properly for sustainability. Without mens cooperation, sustainability may not be attained and men will definitely be on the loosing end.
