Why you should start your diet , the reasons are endless. Most Americans deal with health issues of some sort . The surprising thing is a large part of these health issues are weight related. In this article I will give you a few reasons why you should start your diet today.

We all want to be healthy and look good. There is no better feeling than having your clothes fit just right . The confidence you have when your in shape could mean the difference between a very successful and abundant life and one that is less than fulfilling. I'm not saying you can't be successful if you are out of shape , but most of us need confidence to go after what we want in life. If you don't feel good about yourself you will not want to put yourself out there for public scrutiny. Pursuit of happiness is our right but that starts with each one of us as individuals.

The health risks involved with being overweight are huge and may surprise you. They include diabetes , coronary heart disease , gall bladder disease , fatty liver disease , pregnancy complications , sleep apnea , and various types of cancer and arthritis are among a few. Those reason's alone should be why you should start your diet.

Cancer occurs when cells in one part of the body such as the liver grow abnormally or out of control. People who are overweight are at a high risk of developing several types of cancer including kidney , colon , esophagus , and uterine . It is speculated that fat cells release hormones that affect cell growth negatively leading to cancer. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States .

Type two diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and eighty five percent of people overweight are suffering from this. The exact reason it affects overweight people is not known for sure , but the case studies prove it does. Type two diabetes is a disease in which blood sugar levels are above normal. High blood sugar is a major cause of coronary heart disease , kidney disease , stroke , amputation and blindness.

Ok so we've all seen these kind of stats on why being overweight is unhealthy but what do we do about it? There have been a million studies done on the benefit of eating right. John Hopkins University has released a study proving that eating healthy can protect or prevent people from prostrate , breast , lung , and liver cancer. So how do we implement that?

The key to finding a weight loss program that works is to be realistic. If it sounds goofy or dangerous don't do it. Diets that starve you won't work . Diets that cut whole food groups out [carbs] won't work. Diets that cut out all the fat won't work. Your body needs all of these things for your brain and metabolism to work right.

Don't put your health off any longer. Don't look for reasons why you should start your diet. Find a program that is easy to understand , one that will educate you and help you track your success. After a few home runs the answer to "why you should start your diet" will be clear. Your happiness and life depend on it.

When you find the right diet don't go crazy and try to lose ten pounds the first week. This is unhealthy and you set your standards too high and ultimately you will quit. Losing weight is like anything else you'll do in life, it takes trial and error and don't give up.You were made to have a beautiful trim body. Go get it. Start your diet today.
