When Getting Your Ex Back Is Not An Appropriate Option

By:

Getting your ex back isn't something you should do at all costs. There are always times when you feel after a breakup as if you have lost a piece of your life. This is perfectly normal and is not unusual. As bad as you want your ex back, there are times when getting back together is not an appropriate option. In order to decide for yourself whether getting your ex back is the appropriate choice, you must first answer some questions.

First, if you have ever been beaten than getting your ex back is not an acceptable option. Instead, you need to work hard to distance yourself from the violence, the danger, and the hold that your ex has on you. There are people who argue that an occasional fight that gets physical is acceptable. While this may be true in some cultures, if you ever had to go to the hospital due to your injuries, or if the police have ever been called, than this should be the first sign that taking your ex back is not an appropriate choice.

Secondly, if you have children, and you suspect that your ex is incapable or unable to care for children appropriately, than taking your ex back is probably not a good idea. This holds true especially if you suspect that your ex has ever physically, emotionally or sexually abused your children. If this is the case, you should stay as far away from your ex as possible. While this may seem painful, and might also be painful for your children, it will be much more painful if the health and safety of your children will be in danger.

Third, if your ex has ever told you that it is inappropriate to go spend time with your friends or family then it might be time to move along. You should not stay with someone who tries to control your every movement. This is often an early sign that indicates that your ex could potentially be violent or abusive, a situation that no one should ever be in. If you have ever found yourself making excuses for why you cannot spend time with friends and family because of your ex's choices and wishes, Than you should seriously reevaluate the relationship before attempting to get your ex back.

There are some relationships that just seem doomed from the beginning. If your entire relationship revolves around fighting, arguing are making each other jealous, than you should consider going your separate ways for good. Remaining in a relationship that is unhealthy is never a good idea neither for yourself, nor for your ex. If you discover, when thinking about your relationship, that you have had more bad times than good times, it may be time to let your ex go and move along yourself. You should be most concerned with your happiness overall in life rather than remaining, with just one person.

Making the appropriate decision about whether getting your ex back is a good idea. It is something they could take you days, or possibly even weeks to decide for sure.

You should never rush this decision, nor make a rash judgment. Deciding if it is appropriate for you in your ex to get back together can take a couple of days, and that small delay will not effect the relationship. Instead, it will help you be happier, because you are sure you have made the correct decision.
