What to Expect from Inkjet cartridges Such As Canon cartridges

By: Vikram Kumar

Most consumers rely nowadays on inkjet printers that use inkjet cartridges (such as the Canon cartridges.) The principle behind inkjet printers is that the ink can be propelled in a controlled way onto paper by the printer. The Canon technology for its BubbleJet inkjet printing process came about accidentally - during an experiment being carried out sometime in the 1970s, the needle of an ink-filled syringe came into contact with a hot soldering iron. The heat from the soldering iron caused the ink to spurt out and minds started turning among Canon researchers about the possibilities of their discovery. Thus, Canon was able to come out with its pioneering BubbleJet printer for commercial use by 1985. Further research and development efforts have allowed Canon to make more advanced inkjet printers that are now known for their excellent image quality and fast printing speeds (not to mention versatile usability.) And in turn, Canon came out with consumables like the Canon cartridges as well.

Canon cartridges generally work by traveling in a horizontal fashion across the surface of your paper inserted within the Canon inkjet printer. As it moves horizontally over the paper, the printer asks the Canon cartridge print head to shoot out ink droplets in a controlled manner onto the paper. Of course, the whole process is actually a bit more complicated than that, but for our purposes that is essentially what happens.

The Canon inkjet printer technologies fall into six main categories namely, the FINE Print Head Technology, the ChromaLife100 color system, the Dual Color Gamut Processing Technology, the Image-Quality Improvement Technologies for photographs, the Easy-Scroll Wheel, and the Advanced Media Handling technologies.

If you need Canon inkjet printer technologies for large-format printing, then you need its large-format printers. The applications for which large-format printers are best used are CAD, posters, office documents, photography, and graphic art. The Canon cartridges for large-format printers are a bit different from the Canon cartridges of the regular type of consumer printers. The print head of Canon cartridges of large-format printers do travel horizontally across the printing surface too, but the Canon cartridges may each have a sensor that gauges printing performance, as well as a cutter, aside from the regular print head. Obviously, the demands made on Canon cartridges employed in large-format printing are rather different from those made on Canon cartridges of regular usage printers. The print head of the large-format Canon cartridges is responsible for shooting out ink to make an image on the printing surface.

Knowing that the inkjet cartridges of the Canon printers are used not just for regular format Canon printers, but also for the large-format Canon printers, it is obvious that the technologies used for large-format Canon printers are also unique. For the large-format Canon printers and their respective Canon cartridges, Canon devised the Poster Creation Software for Large-Format Printers; the Reactive Ink Technology, the 1-Inch Wide Print Head, the LUCIA inks, and the L-COA performance control technologies. Understanding how the different technologies work for both Canon printers and Canon cartridges is important so you can select the right inkjet cartridges and inkjet printers for your specific needs.
