What is the way to acheive a strong and joyful union?

By: fongsuimy

Are most long married couples unhappy with their relationship? This question has been bothering me for some time. As a consultant of Feng Shui, I encounter several couples with less than perfect marriages. My clients will quite often ask me for some sort of "secret" remedy that will magically fix what is wrong with their marriage.

Asking around, I polled a few of my married friends and got their opinion on the matter. As the group members are experienced over fifty years and was in a long marriage relation so I had to chose them. Their answer shocked me a lot. Based on their own observations and those of their friends, they are of the opinion that 90% of married people are unhappy in their marriages, for one reason or another.

Granted that the don't experience the happily ever after life we see in fairy tales, this is still rather sad - if this is really the truth.

The question now to be asked is if there is a cure. It is possible that there is.

In ancient societies such as those found in China, arranged marriages were commonplace, and the horoscope was often consulted. The birth details of the couple are examine to see if they are compatible, before they let them marry.

Will this provide the desired results? It increases your odds, but it doesn't always work. By observing couples, experts have determined that by including conditions you can improve your chances of a long, happy marriage.

While this wisdom is for everyone, it is even more critical for those with a history of unsuccessful marriages or relationships, to take note.

Some of the applicable conditions are as follows.

In the old days, the husband must always be older than the wife. Such as this is a custom. It is unbreakable and should not be tried to be broken. the key can be, being younger than your wife. To the ancient Chinese, the wife is considered older even if she is a day older than the husband. However to get superior results, a bigger age difference is preferred.

The other option for a more successful relationship is for the husband to be much older than the wife. Eight years apart meant much to ancient Chinese. Ten to fifteen years older, in practice, is not only accepted, but is desired.

It would also increase the chances if there is a big disparity in the social and economic standard between the husband and the wife. For example the husband is a highly educated CEO of a large corporation while the wife is a much lesser educated person from a poor family. Can it be the other way around? It is unlikely in the old days because the husband is always the breadwinner. However, why can't this be true when, in our modern era, many wives' salaries are greater than their husbands'?

The earlier days the condition applies to woman's only If she cannot be a successful first wife, it does not mean that she cannot be successful being the second or third one. In other words, you can be successful by becoming the other woman! I have no idea about being the alternate man, you know!

What to do if all the above do not work?

The final option is to have a spouse that is of a different race or from a different culture. For instance, somebody from China and someone from India, or perhaps two Chinese who are from different parts of the country. To give an example, if one was raised in China and the other was raised in America.

These are wise words which our ancestors have left for us. So, and especially, if you are relationship challenged, give it a try. You cannot possibly lose!
