Western Theme Weddings

I have never really considered that people might have a theme to their wedding until I spoke to a friend who said that she had been to a couple of western weddings recently. I had never heard of doing this before and so I was really interested to find out more and she explained that the groom was wearing a cowboy hat and the bride had boots instead of heels and a white veiled cowboy hat. I think it would certainly make for a unique occasion and would be great fun if all of the guests dressed appropriately as well and of course the more of them that were Western fans the better really as they would all appreciate the theme.

My friend said that the one wedding had western wedding accessories in the sense that the favors were all cowboy hats overflowing with sweets and the table confetti was horseshoes in a silver colour and the cake was four horseshoe shaped layers with white and silver icing. There were two wedding cake toppers one of which was a cowboy and cowgirl in silver on horses and the other was more for the children as it had a pair of teddies in cowboy hats. I think it sounds really good to have everything matching like that. It got me thinking about what theme I might like if I was getting married and I think that I would probably still like something very traditional or go to a beach and have a tropical island theme with more casual dress etc. I think it is rather early days though, to be thinking about my wedding when I do not even have a boyfriend at the moment!

It is nice though, to start thinking about these things and getting ideas together as you do want your wedding day to be the best day of your life and if you do not give it lots of thought then you may regret the way that you did things and wish that you had done it in a different way. Also trends and fashions change and it is a good idea to keep on top of what is going on so that you can do something that fits in with the latest trends and fashions. I must admit that I even buy the occasional brides magazine so that I can look at the dresses and imagine which one might be the best for me!
