Types of snow throwers available

Snow throwers and its advantage It’s a known fact that during days of heavy snowfall the government and Municipal corporations try their level best to keep the highways and street clear of all the snow. But when it comes to clearing the snow from the front of the house to the gate, it is the personal responsibility of the family, specially the male folks to move out in the uncomfortable weather and do the needful. At such times, the snow throwers come handy, as the job is done easier and in no time and you can return to the warmth of your indoors in no time.

Gas Engine, Operated single stage snow throwers. Two types of snow throwers are available in the market, a single stage snow thrower and a two stages snow thrower. A single stage snow thrower has an auger, made of a combination metal and plastic or hard rubber. The engine drives the auger through a series of gears, which cuts the ice by chipping and simultaneously collecting and driving it out of the engine with force, thus clearing the ice on the driveway. A single stage thrower is a self-propelling machine as it rides on snow and clears a width of 12” to 22” of ice, due to which multiple passes are needed to clear the snow in the driveway.

A Two-stage Machine Is More Powerful A two stage resources on John Deere snow blowers comes with an additional pump attached to the auger which makes a two stage machine throw churned the ice at great distance. It can throw the ice up to 45’ due to the additional force provided by the pump. Although it is great fun for children to play in the falling snow, care must be taken to keep the children away from the area where the churned ice lands. The two-stage thrower is more effective as it clears 2’ to 3’ of snow in one pass.

Useful tips to remove snow effortlessly • Sprinkling of a little salt will help to remove snow easily, provided prior permission is taken from authorities. • Wear proper double layered clothing, instead of single thick clothing • Try using spiked shoes to avoid slipping on hard snow. As it is possible that you might land on your head and hurt yourself seriously.
