Themed Fancy Dress

People love fancy dress but often have difficulty deciding what to wear. If you give your party a theme it will really help your guests to choose a costume. There are hundreds of themes to choose from and you could narrow it down even further to a theme within a theme. If you love the 1960s you could choose a broad swinging 60s party theme or narrow it down to a film stars or musicals from the 60s fancy dress party.


Consider your guests
Have a look at your guest list. What age are they? What era do they come from? What fancy dress outfits will they feel comfortable wearing? Make sure you choose an appropriate theme; if your guest list includes your entire family then Aunt Agatha may not like wearing a short 60s mini skirt so make sure there will be enough in the category to suit her!!
Will the costumes fit? Make sure the theme you pick has a wide range of sizes to choose from. Comfort is the first priority if you want to wear your outfit all night. If your outfit is just to make an impact on arrival then anything goes! Can you find the correct accessories to complete your outfit? Many online shops have a great selection of wigs and masks. A Princess Leia outfit wouldnt be complete without the famous hairdo!

Decorate the room
To add impact to your party decorate your room. You can find an assortment of decorations online or visit your local high street shop.
If you have enough space or are hiring a room then you can even choose an outside company to decorate the room for you. There are plenty to choose from either online or from your local area.


Serve great food
Serve food on the same theme. Its fun and interesting!! Especially if youre throwing a Victorian party and serve your guests jellied eels or mince pies with real meat!! Just make sure you label everything so your veggie guests arent eating anything they wouldnt like.


Themed fancy dress parties are great fun to plan and attend! So it's worth investing a little time to choose the perfect theme.
