These cars have endured the competition because of its special characteristics like power, sturdiness and astounding performance. These are the 1969 muscle cars which do not have any frills, just brute speed and rock steady performance.

Dodge Charger

It is owned by more than 110,000 buyers and that is something of a record and these users cannot be wrong. The users are led by General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard. It has the powerful 426 Hemi under its bonnet and can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 7 seconds. It burned the track and has attained the top position among all its brethren.

Plymouth Barracuda

If it was not for its excessive weight it would have been the top car. It equals its cousin Dodge Charger by the way of power and other features. It also has added features like the power steering and a Hemi Cuda with its 425 bhp. The Hemi Cuda is still a very popular engine still now.

Plymouth Road Runner

Plymouth Road Runner Was named the Motor Trend's "Car of the Year". The Roadrunner was fast and spirited. The Plymouth Road Runner had a 426 Hemi and sold an astounding 83,000 sales.

Plymouth GTX

Plymouth GTX was the best selling car but in 1969 it was surpassed by another car by the same manufacturers- the Road Runner. Still Plymouth GTX had its own lovers who were enamored by its extremely tough and no nonsense attitude. In 1969 only 701 GTX convertibles were made. Out of these only eleven has 426 hemi.

Pontiac Firebird & Trans Am

The Firebird was launched in 1969 with a drastically restyled external and interior. It was not taken kindly by the fans.
