Airports are a nightmare for the frequent traveler. Apart from the constant wailing of children and queuing up in a long line for security checks, there is the embarrassing rule that insists on travelers removing their shoes in front of other people! But, luckily, airports offer a haven in the form of airport lounges that gives fliers privacy and quiet away from noisy terminals for a nominal fee. This article does a price comparison between three different airports to discover more about them. You can understand the need for airport lounges by the end.

Let's start with Aberdeen Airport. They offer three comfy lounges for a steal at 16 pounds per booking. All three lounges offer a snack bar, alcoholic drinks, flight announcements, free Wi-Fi, and TV. All three are also open at 4:30 in the morning and close at 8:30 pm from Sunday to Friday and close at 6 pm on Saturdays. These luxury lounges offer passengers a 3 hour prior admittance to takeoff.

The next airport on our lounge list is Heathrow Airport. With this being one of the largest airports in Europe, it offers 6 lounges on 4 different terminals. 5 out of the 6 terminals are child or late teen friendly. Again, the terminals offer free Wi-Fi and snack bars. Only one of the lounges offers only alcoholic and soft drink options. These lounges open at 6 am and close at ten pm. The lounges rates range from 15 pounds to 21 pounds and also offer to allow passengers to check in3 hours before they have to fly.

Birmingham Airport offers two lounges at the same price as Heathrow. They offer snack bars and drinks similar to the other airports. You can access this lounge three hours prior to your flight as well.

A lot of passengers however, are often confused about how to gain entrance to these lounges. Generally, you have a choice of access through a annual pass, frequent flier, day pass or just a general priority pass.

One of the luxury amenities are the posh bathrooms. These are private and offer the most comfort a bathroom can offer. They also offer valet parking for a nominal fee, massages, and office equipment including a bookable video conferencing kiosk.

With the priority pass program, you will be able to gain access to these lounges for just a small fee each time you would like to access the lounge. It is the annual membership, however, that will offer you the best value for your money. This type of membership is generally divided up into three different categories: the standard, standard plus, and the prestige membership.

Next time you travel and dread having to endure layover in that crowded noisy airport terminal, consider ducking into a calming, cozy airport lounge. You can sit back enjoy a nice beverage, maybe even an alcoholic drink or two, put your feet up and read your favorite book or magazine. If reading is not your style enjoy some great shows or movies on TV. No matter how you choose to enjoy your stay in the airport lounge you will be glad that you did. Never again will layovers cause you such anxiety.
