The Ocean, The Last Frontier. Discover It Through Scuba Diving

By:

If you are like me you enjoy a great adventure. I had conquered the snow on a snowboard, the road on a long-board, the mountain on a mountain-board, the skies in a hang glider, the cave in a harness, and still I wanted more! Water was my next and possibly most fun obstacle conquered through scuba diving. I learned the art of Scuba Diving in New York and I now feel one with the water. This extreme sport offers a world that most human eyes have not seen and most can only imagine. Scuba diving gives one a look into ship wrecks, history, wildlife, and a personal test of courage and determination.

However easy scuba diving may look, it is not to be taken lightly. One must receive proper instruction in order to join the ranks of a Certified PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Open Water Diver. So the first thing you need to do is find a scuba diving training facility near you. I have learned that the training facility is best if it is equipped with its own onsite pool. This pool gives beginners and advanced divers the ability to learn and practice in a danger free environment. Not only is it a safe and well watched, but it is also close and convenient. Packing gear around everyone when you don't know how to handle it can be a huge hassle, so find a facility with an onsite pool.

Next, you will have the ability to become as skilled in Scuba Diving as you would like. Here is a list of several lessons and certifications you can achieve in New York Scuba Diving Schools.

*Beginners start with Open Water Certification
*Advanced Open Water Certification
*Rescue Diver Instruction
*Deep Diver Instruction
*Dry Suit Diver Instruction
*Ice Diver Instruction
*Shipwreck Diver Instruction
*Dive Master Instruction
*Nitrox Instruction
*Emergency First Responder Certification
The list goes on and on. That is what I like about the ocean; it is so large I can't ever see enough of it.

After you have received the proper instruction, it is time to plan a sweet trip somewhere. Some of the most beautiful and fun places to dive are the Bahamas, Australia, Egypt, Corsica, Galapagos, Indonesia, Burma, Malta, Seychelles, and Maldives. Personally I am partial to shipwreck diving. My most favorite ship I have seen is the Thistlegorm found in Sharm-el Sheikh, Egypt. What a beauty. Or closer to us is the USS Oriskany at Pensacola.

So adventurers, take that leap and learn how to scuba dive. Choose the right diving school, become certified, and then go unveil the ocean.
