The Number One Rule Of Business By Randy Eastburg

By:

Ive spent my whole life in business. I have always enjoyed being around people; so naturally sales was a perfect fit for me. I started at Courtesy Dodge in Albuquerque, NM selling cars at the age of 21 and loved it. Spending all those years in the car business allowed me to develop the network and knowledge base required to run my very own car lot some 25 years later. One of the first adages I ever heard growing up in the business world is the customer is always right. It was right then and it is right now.

Times are changing within the business world. The infusion of technology has changed the playing field. My kids know all about computers, the Internet, smart phones, mp3 players, laptops, and all that stuff; me, not so much. So despite the handicap I have of not being technologically relevant, I have still managed to be a very successful businessman in first the car industry and now the roofing industry. How have I done this? By taking care of the customer first. I know that if a customer is happy with the experience, my business is going to grow. And all that extra work I had to put in because I didnt have that technological advantage to streamline the process will be worth it, because I will have won the loyalty of my customers. And they will ultimately be the ones growing my business for me, by coming back for repeat business and by telling their friends about their positive experience.

About the author: I am a married 55-year-old father of two (five if you include the two labs and dachshund, which basically you should). I grew up in Albuquerque, NM and recently moved to Dallas, TX. While I love New Mexico, the move to Dallas has been wonderful and refreshing. My family really enjoys all the things to do in the DFW area. Mavericks, Cowboys, Stars, and Rangers games are some of our favorites to attend. We also love going to all the local lakes, especially Lake Lewisville. The only thing that kills me about Texas is that the summer heat is killing my golf game! My kids are making me a facebook so look me up at facebook.com/RandyEastburg . Thank you for reading my first article.
