Whats a promotional product?
Thats a relatively simple question and luckily I can provide a relatively simple answer. A promotional product is anything that a company or business uses to promote itself or a particular product. For instance, perhaps theres a new company and it is looking to promote itself. Well, perhaps at the grand opening of a store it will have pens with their logo, thusly promoting themselves through products.

What are some promotional products?
Well, promotional products can vary from company to company and then again from what the company is looking to promote. If its something simple or just themselves they might go with a pen. Other times they might get more advanced and make keychains, mugs, clocks, cup holders, games, calendars, planners, and a whole slew of other items.

Pens can go a long way. A person can hold on to a pen for a very long time. I have pens in my house that I use when I need to write that are ages old. Mostly theyre from the company I used to work for but its a company none the less.

The same happens to many people. And a company can never know when a person might need the company thats on their pen. Its a great marketing strategy and can work fantastically well.

Buttons and badges are also common. Think about elections and the campaigns people run. They use buttons, badges, pins, bumpers, and many other items to promote their cause.

When do you give out promotional products?
Well, that depends on the company. Some will have pens in a cup holder in the lobby of their world headquarters. If you take one and use it, you can keep it.

Other companies will have events to show off their company. Perhaps its a job fair to hire new people, perhaps its for another reason.

Think about when army recruiters would set up for a day at your high school. They werent there just to be pretty, they were promoting the army. They had pamphlets, pens, stickers, and other objects to help them do what they had to do to promote themselves.

Think back to the campaign scenario. The campaigners would hold parties in various towns and guess what they did? They gave out items to promote themselves. Its a common practice and a smart thing to do. The more you give out, the better.

Think of certain items as viral. Perhaps one person obtained several pens and gives a couple to another person, and so on and so forth. The promotion continues until the pens run out, or someone stops giving them out.

How do I make these products?
The most difficult part is also the easiest. Perhaps in the olden days the products were made by lowly officials in the company but today their made by outside companies. Do a search for some online and youll be surprised at what products you can buy to promote your company, business, or even yourself.
