Teens are brooding, unpredictable, and often seem depressed. Most parents would agree that a lot of of the mood swings are due more to hormones bouncing around then really any one single life experience. Due to this it can make it truly hard to figure out if your son or daughter is in trouble and a lot of parents only find out after they commit suicide or attempt to hurt or even kill someone else, that their son or daughter has been bullied by people on the web.

The online world would seem almost make believe and since you dont have to look a person in the face like you would in the real world a number of teens end up doing and saying things online that they would never have the nerve to do in person. It's a sad state when children think that just because they are destroying another persons reputation on the net or making horrible statements in a blog or on a social media site that this is not as hurtful as doing it to someones face.

Take, for example, the recent case of the college student who was gay and had video taken of him engaging in activities intended to be private and then posted on the internet by his roommate. He in turn killed himself and charges are being brought upon those who were associated. This is just one of the most recent cases in a long string of cyber bullying incidents that have occurred over the last few years and bear in mind, the only ones you are really hearing about are those with deadly results. There are millions of other kids who do not take such drastic measures but who are living trapped by the abuse that they deal with on the internet everyday.

So your son or daughter may be a bully or they could possibly be the victim, nevertheless either way the results for your daughter or son and your whole family can be devastating. Lets face it, none of us wants to believe either about our sons and daughters yet someones kids are participating in these activities on both sides of the fence. As a parent you cant address what you do not see and that simply means that you need to get on the web and come across a parental spyware program which allows you to follow after your childs online footprints and learn what they are saying, doing, and reading online.

Do not simply turn your head to the idea of cyber bullying. All parents have the capability to take action and keep an eye on their childrens internet activity and really need to if we are going to address this increasing problem. The change begins with viewing what your kids are up to on the web, the life you save my just be that of your own child or someone elses, but with knowledge comes the power to make changes for the better. Our kids need us and it is time to step up and address this problem. One little program can make all the difference.
