The Most Expensive Sundae In The World

The most expensive Sundae in the world is called "Golden Opulence". The Serendipity 3, the famous Manhattan restaurant decided that for its 50th year anniversary it should create a publicity stunt and so they set out to make the most expensive ice-cream Sundae in the world.

The ingredients of the Sundae are: Tahitian vanilla bean ice-cream infused with Madagascar vanilla covered in 23 K edible gold leaf, Amedei Porceleana chocolate (the world's most expensive chocolate), chunks of rare Chuao chocolate ( made out of cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on the Venezuela's coast). Other incredible ingredients are: exotic candied fruits form Paris, gold dragets (almonds covered in edible 23 karat gold), truffles and Marzipan Cherries.

The Sundae is served with a small glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar on the top. This type of caviar is made out of salt-free American Golden caviar. To sweeten the ice-cream chefs at Serendipity 3 used passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. The delight dessert is served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet and you can eat it with an 18 karat gold spoon to enrich the golden experience even more. As you can see this is not a dessert that can be made at home.

If you would like to taste this wonderful delight it would be a good thing to call the restaurant and order it in advance because it takes several days to prepare. This experience is such an extravagance that only 15 people ate the "Golden Opulence" until today.

The Sundae was also the high-light of a Sweet Sixteen party in the never sleeping Manhattan. The "Golden Opulence" is still served today. If you ever pass Serenity 3 and are curios what the "Golden Opulence" tastes like don't be shy and try it. What can be better than eating something that only a few have tried?
