I get asked time and time again, "What exercise burns the most body fat?" The truth is that there is no one "best" fat burning exercise. In reality, you need a database consisting of many effective fat burning exercises. With several excellent exercises to rotate through, you will not experience mental boredom and physical staleness. This will keep your body challenged while encouraging consistent progress. In addition, this will keep you motivated to workout.

To get you started right away, I will share with you one of the best fat burning exercises. In addition to this exercise being incredibly effective, it can be performed anywhere without the need for any equipment. It is also very time efficient. Just five minutes of this exercise can burn more fat than a 30 minute jogging workout!

The exercise that I'm referring to is the Advanced Burpee. Since technique is of the utmost importance when performing this exercise, I will describe to you in detail how to properly execute the Advanced Burpee. Below, I will break down the movement into four simple steps:

1) Stand with a shoulder width stance. Squat down and put your hands on the ground in front of your feet.

2) Next, kick your feet back while lowering your chest to the ground. This step will essentially put you in the bottom position of a push up.

3) Then, push your chest away from the floor while simultaneously thrusting your legs back up into the squat position with the hands still on the floor.

4) Finish the exercise by jumping up in the air as high as you can. Upon landing, drop back down into the squat position and continue for the desired number of reps.

You can integrate this exercise into your routine in many different ways. Explaining all of the program design options is beyond the scope of this article. I will, however, provide you with one simple option, so you can get started immediately.

Set a timer for five minutes. Perform as many Advanced Burpees as possible during the five minute time period. Only good quality, explosive reps count. Pace yourself. Write down the number of reps performed. Then every time you repeat this workout, try to exceed the number of reps you performed during the previous workout.

Continue this pattern until no further progress is possible. Once you reach this point, it's time to alter your workout.

Now you have a time efficient and incredibly effective fat burning routine. Work hard and push yourself. You will be glad you did.
