The Latest Technology in Satellite TV Systems

By: Kaptain Dave

Satellite TV has so much to offer now after all of its recent technological upgrades. This not only applies to things such as the new massive quantity of high definition and standard digital format programming that the two leading providers have to offer but it also applies to the actual satellite TV system that you will be using. In years past if a person wanted to begin receiving satellite TV programming one of the things that they had to do was to go out and buy a satellite TV system and then decide how they were going to have it installed.

That was then and this is now, because both of the leading satellite TV service providers will now give you and install free of charge a complete satellite system that includes everything that you need to get started watching satellite TV. With both DirecTV and Dish Network you have your choice from the several models of satellite TV receivers that they keep in stock. Some of the features and functions that you will have the option of including in your receiver of choice are custom menu, parental control, DVR, and programming search function.

The programming search function and DVR work great together and are so simple to operate with the free TV remote control that comes with the system. To find a program or movie, simply press the button on the remote and then enter in whatever it is you are looking for by name or even by the name of an actor in the movie or program. Give the buttton a click and the system does all of the work for you.

In seconds the search is over and your movie or program is displayed on your screen with the date and time it is on and a few other relevant details you can read if you wish. Simply give the DVR button a click and it is set to record when it comes on automatically and you don't have to do another thing.

It will even be recorded if you are watching another channel when it plays. If it is a game and it is rescheduled for some reason thats not a problem, because the DVR will automatically reschedule and follow it to its new date and time and record it. You can even get a DVR in your receiver that can record two channels simultaneously while you are watching a third.

Standard definition digital DVRs generally have 100 hours of recording memory in them, although some do have more. High definition DVRs operate the same way and will receive and record both standard digital and high definition TV programming. Other features such as phone number display allow you to have incoming calls caller ID displayed on the corner of your screen, so you don't have to be distracted for even a moment from any of your favorite games. All of these features and functions are user friendly and are one touch operations, so even your kids can learn to record and store their favorite programming.
