The Internet: The Source Of All Good Bargains

By:

As far as I'm concerned, there are two purposes for the Internet: hilarious cat videos (and other memes) and saving money. Spending hours on Wikipedia reading random pages for several hours is a close third. But I can easily say the majority of my time spent on the Internet, when not at work...okay maybe even when I'm at work, is spent looking at Lolcats.com and shopping for awesome deals. If you're not utilizing Amazon and Google to your full advantage, you're doing something wrong.

Shopping online is incredibly convenient and it's one of the top reasons people prefer it than actually heading to a mall. But the other main reason people love to shop online is because they know they can always find an extreme deal. If you shop online and pay more than or the same as the retail price, you're doing something wrong. Amazon should always be your go to place for lower prices. Granted you might not find anything I would refer to as an "extreme deal," but you will never pay full price. Plus, you can enjoy really fast shipping and awesome customer service. Who doesn't like shopping on Amazon?

There is more to Internet shopping though than Amazon. You can easily find coupon codes for some of the most popular stores. Just Google the store name and "coupon code" and you can usually find something. Finding coupons is also as simple as signing up for e-mails from your favorite retailers. It's rare that stores physically mail them anymore. Everything is digital, including the savings.

Particular websites are also dedicated to getting all the leftover merchandise that they can sell dirt cheap. Sometimes you can snag expensive electronics for under $20. Sometimes it's too good to be true. You should always be wary and use your best judgment. You should also be reading the fine print. There might be a laptop for $40 but it ends up being some knock-off brand you've never heard of. That is one sale I would shy away from. The Internet can be your best friend or worst enemy. You just have to be a savvy shopper.

From electronics to clothing to home décor, everything can be purchased for far less. Look for deal news websites and blogs that point you in the right direction. Some of the best sites are kept under wraps. You have to know where to look and be quick. The best deals are limited quantities so always act fast and check back frequently.
