If the aim of the team is to hit the highest level, then doubling the effort is badly needed. There should be no time to waste.

However, the seriousness of drills doesnt mean there will be no room for fun. Softball drills would be more meaningful if drills are executed interestingly. If the fun and excitements in softball are taken away, players will lose half of their reason to stay. Most players join the team because they love the sports. It isnt a job that obliges them to perform each day. A coach should know this fact. Players will further appreciate the sports if drills are executed meaningfully. Thats why, during the drill, it is important for a coach to incorporate strategies and techniques that can excite each member of the team.

There are numerous reasons why the element of fun should not be taken away during softball drills. A monotonous executed drill will only drain out the strength of each player quickly. And if they find it even more boring, they will eventually lost their excitement and lost for good. So to make each drill offers an important effect in them, it should be comprehensive and varied. From time to time, insert an exciting ice-breaker drill for proceeding to heavy drills. In fact, when the element of fun is present in every drill, the team will realize the importance of bonding, teamwork, unity, and cooperation vital ingredients for a successful softball team.

For new comers, it is anticipated that they knew little for some terms and concepts used in softball. The coach then is expected to teach them with demonstration. When they grasp the meaning and importance of a certain technique, it can bring forth in them joy. Long lectures will only spoil the importance of the drill. Aside from that, it should be noted that players are active individuals. This means, they are more interested in doing some activities than just sitting down.

When giving a lecture discussing some important terminologies and concepts, endeavor to make it fun and exciting. In this way, their attention or mind wont wander allowing them to grasp fully what they also need to know and learn. If possible, provide them with example. If there is a need for demonstration, then do so. Anyway, softball drills are not taught through lectures alone. It requires demonstration to be followed by application.

Above all, dont remove the element of fun. As a coach, you should always incorporate some sorts of interesting activity. Of course, you dont need to go beyond its limit. Otherwise, your team wont realize the seriousness of softball drills. You are the pilot, you should be in control.
