Coir Block and Coir Brick are Coco peat products. These products are highly beneficial and are the by-products of the natural coconut tree. Coco peat products are made out of coconut husks and are also referred as coir, coir dust or fiber pith. The coir waste obtained from Coir fiber industries undergoes washing, heat treatment, screening and grading steps before they are processed.
Coco peat products of various varieties and types are produced and are available in the market. Coir Block (5 Kg), Coir Brick (650g), Cut Fiber, Grow Bag and Husk / Crush Chips are a few products among the Coco peat products available in the market. These products have high horticultural and agricultural value and is used as an industrial absorbent. Coir Block (5kg) bales with water (75liters) and expands on exposure for 10-20 minutes. This is used in garden centres, nurseries (small to large scale) and large scaled flower and fruit plantations.
The coir blocks are either mixed with other growth mediums or used as a standalone growth ingredient. Coir blocks are also available as shrink wrapped blocks.
Coco peat products are rich in naturally occurring beneficial fungus which works in symbiosis with plant roots and thus provides protection against harmful and disease causing agents.
