How To Clean The Scratches of A CD
Many people unfortunately believe that it is the end of a CD with scratches. This is however a false notion. There are numerous ways to salvage the information from your scratched CD and one way is to clean the surface of the scratched CD carefully so as not to cause any more damage. Now when performing the cleaning, you need not have to worry about using various concentrated and dangerous chemicals for this purpose as there are simple custom made techniques that you can use that will give you the same result as when you use chemicals and even better surprises.
The First Phase of the Cleaning
The scratched CDs must be thoroughly cleaned with simple products like white vinegar. After the cleaning if the scratches are not too big or rather too deep they can be buffed. When buffing scratches you can try dampening a piece of cotton wool which you shall use to rub gently across the surface of the scratched CD. This is aimed at getting rid of the grime and the dirt from the CD which is limiting the performance of the CD. Alternatively you are at liberty to use a glass cleaner to spray on the surface of the CD after which you will rub gently with a cloth. You will have to rinse the surface by dipping a clean soft cloth in clean water. When drying, be careful as to pat dry the surface. Some people had had success stories and results from using toothpaste to gently buff out the scratches on a CD. When using this technique you have to apply the toothpaste on the scratched area first. Gently use a circular movement to rub the toothpaste severally. After which you can remove the toothpaste and try the CD. If it doesnt work, you can repeat the step.
