The Danger Of Being A Cheapskate With Your Network Marketing Business

By:

One of the biggest issues I see today in the world of MLM is people who are being cheapskates with their network marketing business. Now there is nothing wrong with being frugal, prudent and wise; however there is a huge problem with being cheap. Today I want to point out some of the pitfalls of taking the "cheap" approach to your business.

The first problem of operating in this manner is mindset. Things that come to us without cost, tend to be held with little overall value. A person is more likely to invest themselves into their business, when it has cost them something on the front end. Then end result of this type of mindset is generally program hopping. A person has no commitment to their program, because they have no investment into that program. When they get frustrated, they simply move on to the next thing.

The second problem is quality. This generally shows up in the functionality and reliablity of a free product when compared with a paid product. Take autoresponders for example. There are some great free autoresponders out there. They will do exactly what they are supposed to, but they have some limitations. Most free autoresponders are limited to 500 subscribers. Most include paid advertising in your email broadcasts. Most have limited tracking and analytical capability. Are they functional? Yes. Could you operate with one? Yes Are they the best solution? No. Generally, when you go with a "free" option you lose a measure of control. This typically is in the form of paid advertising that may or may not be consistent with you marketing efforts. By spending a few dollars a person could have control over all of these factors and actually create additional income from them.

The third problem is the law of attraction. In a network marketing business, you are most likely to attract people who are like you. If you are cheap and not wanting to spend a dime on anything, then you are going attract a disproportionate amount of people who are the same way. Remember this: Cheap attracts cheap. I find that my business that has a free signup option has more sign ups, but the majority do no business and spend no money. My paid entry businesses have fewer sign ups but exponentially more productivity and money is regularly spent in those businesses. When you promote cheap programs, you attract cheapskate marketers.

When we invest in our businesses, we demonstrate that our business is worth investing in. How can you expect anyone else to spend money in your business if you are not willing to do so yourself. It is amazing the increase in business that can be obtained by just a few key investments. Things like a good autoresponder, web hosting and training tools, will more than pay for themselves in the long run.

So get in the game and quit being a cheapskate marketer. The success of your network marketing business is depending on it.
