A basic tool set is required before starting on any woodworking project. The best approach is to get only what's needed to complete smaller, easier projects in the beginning. You can then slowly be surely add to your tool collection as you begin to work on intermediate to advanced projects. Aside from the simple tools such as hammers and screwdrivers, one of the other essentials is a saw. It's a good idea to at least have two saws to start off with, with one of them being a jig. Woodworking can bring a lot of satisfaction to a person's life. Anytime you can build something with your own two hands, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. Not to mention that the stuff you build can in most cases can actually be used to enhance your life in some way. And who knows, maybe in a few years you can be a woodworking full-time.

The amount of projects are virtually endless, so you can never really get bored and run out of things to do.
