The Apple Ipad - Now More Affordable Than Ever!

By:

As a graphic artist and an amateur animator I have been fascinated by the prospect of working on a touchscreen PC. But predictably, I'm more of a Mac addict than a PC geek. When the bloggers began writing about a hush-hush tablet R&D project at Apple in late 2009 I waited impatiently for its release. By early 2010 the Apple iPad was shipping. And almost unbelievably, before I can even decide whether to buy one, I hear that some company called FreebieJeebies is giving out free samples. Can this be legit?

Compared with Apple laptops and desktops, the iPad is not all that expensive. However, I can't really justify spending money on what is, for me, a very nice toy. Very few of us can claim to really need one. Certainly, that will shift over time as specialized "killer apps" become must-haves. But for now, it seems very tempting to get one for free.

In comes FreebieJeebies, a new company that's promising, you guessed it, a free iPad 32gb. So honestly, what's the deal here? Is this too good to be true? It sure sounds that way. Yeah, you can go on youtube and see videos of different people unwrapping their free FreebieJeebies iPads. But are these real "winners", or are they just contrived testimonials?

I always check my facts. Don't try to pull one over on me; you'll just waste your time. Accordingly, I have thoroughly read the FreebieJeebies fine print and now believe I have learned how they can pull this off. At its core, this is a marketing company whose primary revenue stream derives from third party referrals. I also believe that they have done the statistical groundwork to ensure they maintain solvency while meeting obligations.

You begin earning your free iPad by providing them with a correct, verifiable and unique home address. Second, you refer a certain number of friends and family to FreebieJeebies, and third, you complete a free trial for one of the companies they partner with. This last transaction is how FreebieJeebies brings in the cash they need to support giving away the free iPad. I would not be surprised if a certain percentage of registrants get started, do the free trial for FreebieJeebies, and drop off before completing the program. That statistically predictable attrition is one of the many factors that enables a company like FreebieJeebies to remain profitable while honoring giveaway commitments.

And there you have it: a legitimate business model that gives away free iPads! Ahh, the wonders of modern marketing.
