The 2011 Dakota From Dodge

By:

With its engine performance, towing capacity and cargo space the 2011 Dakota from Dodge is a contender for the best pickup made in 2011. This pickup does not immediately slide into first position, however, because its interior and exterior design is left wanting. It seems as if the 2011 Dakota's design is for industrial workers, therefore, Dodge placed most of its emphasis on power and performance and little on aesthetics.

Internal Features
Cruise control with options available on the steering wheel
Warning with low fuel level
Tachometer
Six way power driver seat
MP3 audio input
Four speakers
Power steering
Seats made of premium cloth
The interior looks cheaply done and has minimal features for comfort. This design is too specific; it is tailored too much to industrial workers, therefore, eliminating other types of buyers from its customer base. Even though the design is specific, it is fairly spacious but it cannot compare to other pickups in the same category.

External Features
17 x 8.0 inch alloy wheels
Tires for all types of terrain
Privacy glass
Trailer wiring for towing and hauling
There is minimal design to the exterior of the 2011 Dakota but this is welcomed because it is a work vehicle designed for haulage. The design is however practical leaving a large amount of space cargo which is a much desired feature in any pickup truck.
Engine
3.7 liters
V6 cylinders
12 valves
Single overhead cam
235 feet per pounds of torque
210 horsepower
Four-speed automatic suspension
Buyers also have the option of upgrading the engine to a 4.7 liter V8 engine that produces 329 feet per pounds of torque and 302 horsepower. This engine is faster and far more powerful than the 3.7 liter version because of the V8 cylinders and the four-speed automatic transmission. These two features both allow the Dakotas performance to shine by giving it the ability to travel at high speeds as well as tow cargo amounting to over seven thousand pounds.

The 2011 Dakotas engine was carefully designed, more so than for any other used Dakota engine in the past. This engine was designed for industrial workers with lots of cargo to haul and is very powerful especially when it is under stress. Dodge, however, did not take the time to broaden the market base of this pickup by creating an interior design that would be appealing to many types of buyers. Instead, they decided on an industrial interior with the bare minimum of features. This theme continues on the exterior and gives the Dodge a look that does not match up to its engines power.
